Ironically, that category you were trying to place it in could be summarized by a Swedish word/concept called "Lagom". It's basically average/sufficient/ideal, not too much and not too little. Neither good nor bad. For the money you're paying it's "Lagom" :)

I love it. Will add it to my repertoire. It's super interesting how different languages have concepts/ideas that can't really be translated because there isn't an identical concept in the other language. They can be explained, like you just did. But I'm sure to a native speaker the word Lagom would have slightly more meaning than "sufficient". Am I correct?

@@WholeBrainCoffee For sure! I'm pretty sure there are English words that can't really be translated either but can't come up with one right now. Indeed it does mean a bit more than "sufficient" but it's about the closest translation you could get haha. While sufficient might mean that it could've been more, "Lagom" is supposed to be more of like a virtue I guess? You could also use it when someone asks you if you want more coffee, and you technically could but know that you probably shouldn't, and say "No thanks that was lagom" lol!

@@baverfjant I think i get it - a virtue of being happy with what you have because it's perfectly sufficient for your needs, and while you could always have more, you don't need it. Almost like "content", which tends to have a negative connotation while "lagom" seems to have a positive one. I will remember it for sure.
In english I suppose a word like "cheesy" would fit the bill. Pretty hard to explain without going into deeper discussion about the intentions, appearances, and delivery of the subject.

@@WholeBrainCoffee Exactly. So in this case since the price is so low you could say it's lagom. It does the job like you guys said. If I'm a broke student it's a good option, can't expect the good stuff at that price but it won't be too bad either. If it was $20 or something this coffee would be a disappointment, so context matter too in a sense

@@WholeBrainCoffee And yeah I'm trying to come up with a word that we have that's similar to "Cheesy" but all I can think of is our word for cliché but that's not exactly right. So yeah good shout on that one!

Did you have to assemble it?

  • @ellenh278

Did the coffee come with a baffling set of instructions and an Allen wrench? Not owned any Ikea furniture but their functional odds and ends are often genius, well made and decently priced. (Bamboo phone/iPad holder, used everyday for years, think it was 4$)
Ngl you made me cringe with the noncoffee coffee/roaches. 😂👏 I've don't drink it, but if I had any in the house it'd be trashed after that mental image. Ikea coffee ...pass. Thanks for saving me from that coffee 'adventure'.

It took us 3 days to assemble the bag before we could make the video.
We tried to wing it without reading the instructions but then 19 hours into assembly we realized we missed step 2 (out of 90) so we had to redo the entire thing. Such are the trials and tribulations of Ikea.
