  • I changed the pickups in all my main recording guitars and basses to fishman's a while back. This track uses the Keith Merrow set in the 6 string, and the bass is recorded using the fishman bass set.

Sounds great man! Thinking about swapping the Solar Duncans with Fishman Fluence Merrows in my S1.7PB. How do you feel they compare sound and feel wise?

The fishman are what you’d expect from an active pickup; less dynamic, more aggressive sounding, but that’s what I wanted. They also have much more clarity than the stock solars. The merrow ones specifically are very aggressive in the midrange and I like that a lot about the, not to mention with all the voicing they are insanely versatile. I’ve been very happy I swapped out the stock pickups ever since, the fishmans really brought a new life into my solars (I have the same set in my 6 and 7 string solars).

@@LazySatan22 I'm not a fan of the KM fishmans, as I own a sig Schecter KM guitar with these pups. I tune to drop C and the low C gets lost during power chords and the high end very piercing to the ears with the bridge PU, and the neck pickup during leads are washed out, no definition unless I take away some gain (then no sustain), no matter the amp/speaker/EQ I use (real or sim). I also have the Ibanez with the moderns (ceramic), although sound great, are too fat. I would prefer inbetween if ever possible. Your mix however sounds perfect! As always your playing is satisfying to watch and hear! Hope to see more of your stuff.

you think it has a hot like like the jb? im looking for the most versatile pickup of fluence, and my reference for a pickup its the jb (cause its known for been like the king of versatility to play metal, to jazz to funk or rock) im between these pickups, the classics and the will adler set (and its funny because this set and adlers has only the brigde pickup of "signature", the neck pickup its a classic fluence haha)
