  • WHAT? NO ENDS? Yup! You heard me! Here’s another technique for Overlay Mosaic Crochet for you to try. Learn how to crochet some of your rows “backwards” to eliminate all those pesky ends in your Overlay Mosaic Crochet projects.
    I’ll demonstrate working the wrong-side rows “backwards” so all your stitches will face the right side of your project. Half of the rows will be worked from right to left and the other half will be worked from left to right. You don’t need to be ambidextrous to do this technique (I’m not!), but it does take a little bit of practice to learn and improve the tension of your backwards stitches.
    I’ll demonstrate backwards sc, backwards dc and backwards Adc (Anchored dc), along with how to hide the ch-2 spaces on the edges with an edging.
    Take your Mosaic Crochet skills to the next level with Back & Forth Overlay Mosaic Crochet today!

    I've always maintained that if you can do it 'forward', you can do it in 'reverse' ....it simply sometimes takes an architect to show us how!!! Thank you so much !!!!

      You're very welcome! I always like to try new things and see how they come out. I'm a curious sort of person, which sometimes drives my husband crazy!!! I ask too many questions! But sometimes it pays off to be curious! Happy crocheting to you! I hope you enjoy this technique and many of the other crochet techniques on my RUclips channel!

    I guess that this is what they mean by "if there's a will, there's a way"! Apart from the crab stitch which is done going backwards, I have never heard of crocheting it all backwards. It seems a lot slower, but I guess that with practice, you can train your mind and hands to adapt to it. Wow, this is totally mind blowing!!!

    • @TheCrochetArchitect
      @TheCrochetArchitect  Год назад +1

      Yes. You can train your mind and hands to crochet your stitches backwards. It just takes time and practice! I hope you'll give it a try and see if it's something you want to add to your crochet wheelhouse! Happy crocheting to you!

    Great video. I've been learning some mosaic, and I thought it silly to have all the ends. I experimented with just going back and forth and didn't understand what was 'wrong' with it. But now I see it's just the wrong side of stitches being visible. I'm new enough to crochet that I wouldn't have noticed!

      Thanks, Tyler! Crocheting backwards isn't done very often, but it's a great technique to have in your wheelhouse!
      Have you watched my COM (Continuous Overlay Mosaic) video #25 for another way to eliminate all those ends in Overlay Mosaic Crochet? Here's the link to that video, if you'd like to learn something else to help with your mosaic crochet projects: ruclips.net/video/fgdFlkafsdo/видео.html.
      Happy crocheting to you!

      I don't understand your question, Silvia. Each pattern will have a different stitch and row multiple. Is there a specific pattern you're referring to?

    Susan where you have “dots” is that “X’s” on most charts?

    • @TheCrochetArchitect
      @TheCrochetArchitect  Год назад

      Yes. The dots on my charts are the same as "X's" on other charts. The chart shows (and I explain) that the dots are dc or Adc stitches.

    Is this inset mosaic, Susan?

    • @TheCrochetArchitect
      @TheCrochetArchitect  Год назад +1

      Elaine, No. It's Overlay Mosaic. Inset Mosaic is done with 2 rows of each color. This is done with 1 row of each color, just like Overlay Mosaic. But this technique eliminates the ends, just like Inset Mosaic does. This technique can be done with ANY Overlay Mosaic Crochet pattern! Happy Mosaic Crocheting to you!
