    Hannah, I broke 70 for the first time this past weekend after adopting your putting grip (I assume based on the Kotahi style). Almost everything went in...except when I 3-putted twice! LOL Still ended up with an easy 68.

      I love that putter grip! So good, does take a little practice to adjust to speed control with it. Congrats on breaking 70 though, great golf!!

    The best golfer I have ever played with was a master of 4 iron off the tee on most holes, and self-described as playing chicken. He was also on the green or very close and had a great pitching wedge chipping game. He could hit a great 3 wood, but the 4 iron was his money shot.

    If you’re in the trees a lot, a great idea is to go work on your swing so you don’t go into the trees as much. And the more you play and practice, the more your scores will go down. You can’t expect to make great improvements playing only once per week.

    How would you approach long par 4s (where you may not be long enough to hit in regulation unless you hit 2 shots right on the nose)? Would you play it as a par 5?

    • @kymstock1852
      @kymstock1852 Год назад +2

      That strategy would make sense. On most occasions you will end up short or wide of the green with shot #2, but sometimes you might hit the green somewhere. Sometimes your chip might be close enough to hole for par, but often it will be a bogey result. ( chip and two putts) In my experience even when I do hit the green with shot #2 from maximum distance out, the first putt is a long one and unless I get it right, one of three!

    • @hannahholdenNCG
      @hannahholdenNCG  Год назад +3

    Optimize driver, dial in irons and wedges, practice long lag putts, have a game plan and be ready to take your medicine. Bonus tip: Get in the gym and get a real training program. You can do this. 💪🏽

  • @kymstock1852
    @kymstock1852 Год назад +1

    Hitting Driver as much as practical is fine, but what if you are having a bad day with that club? Rather than persist and work out the problem on the course ( =more wayward shots), would it not be more sensible to leave the Driver in the bag and go to a more reliable club to stay in play off the tee?

    • @hannahholdenNCG
      @hannahholdenNCG  Год назад +2

      Yes but I would drop down to a club that is definitely straighter such as an iron. If you’re wayward with driver most likely you will be wayward with 3 wood

    • @kymstock1852
      @kymstock1852 Год назад +2

      @@hannahholdenNCG agreed ! A shorter shafted club would be indicated when having my a bad swing day. I use a single length 19 degree hybrid when all else fails as a fairway finder off the tee.
