dji osmo action 4 is BAD

- So many of those people that post stuff on youtube and convinced us to "buy" the dji osmo action 4 are probably riding the choo choo train or are getting profits in some way.
I used this action camera for 10 minutes versus the GoPro 8 and it was so blown away.
Put the settings to manual on both and the dji was just terrible in low light, terrible. I would not advice you buying this over the GoPro's.
Of course this is relative, it is probably good but in low light it's really bad. Versus smartphones, gopro's etc.

Could it be you not taking the time to learn how to use it properly?
You could be definitely right. However when working with the same shutter speed, iso and fps one would assume that the same image would be produced. The dji was just way too dark vs the GoPro 8 and even discussed this at the store and there were no questions asked, simply got a reply GoPro is better. However, you can be right. But I definitely was not impressed and for my kind of videos I need more light. 🙏
@@VlogsByElI can tell you that I have noticed that there is a slight difference with at least ISO, this is just what I see online and more specifically at night, GoPro suffers with high ISO. I do know that different cameras handle the same settings differently but I do agree GoPro is better at least for me.
Good comment. And yes I agree with the “at least for me” part. We all might expect different things. That is why I was trying to be as clear as possible to everyone in the video, for me low light is an important thing atm and if GoPro delivers better results then that is what I go with. Totally respect whoever likes DJI more. I definitely will make an update of this video because I feel it needs some more explanation. And thank you 🙏 for the additional information.

@Nothingtodeclare13 I will. However, one video is a more in to depth about this one. And next week I’ll post the GoPro 12 video probably. I will not post any DJI specific videos anymore because I don’t own one anymore. So will only do an update of this video 🙌🏻
you realize that the dji action 4 has a bigger sensor than any gopro right? its less grainy in low light than gopro
Yes, you are right by the facts of the specs. However, this did not impress me at all versus the GoPro8 even. In a new video I have them side by side just to show the audience that it did not impress me. But for who is liking it, sure. I respect anyone’s preference 🙌🏻

Wauw didn’t know it gets so much to you. There is at least one other video yes. But don’t take it so hard okay. You know I’m a person right? Not an authority. And yes this device was so bad returned it directly. They should be ashamed of such a product at that time 🤷🏻♂️
@VlogsByEl Hey dude. Sorry, I'm not trying to be an ass. I'm just not sure where you are coming from. Did you mean the camera was bad in auto settings or was it when you tuned it specifically? I only ask as I think the lowlight possibilities hugely exceed that of GoPro, especially in action type videos.
@@streetpigeonmtb oh no totally did not think that. I respect all comments even mean ones. Uhm, so you might be right. What I did was, do a side by side comparison of the Dji and the GoPro 8, yes 8 way older. And the noise was all over the place. I mean I'm not going to say the Gopro8s was way better, but it was in such a state that I did not want to spend that money for something that would not give me a very clear difference. I only record manual, iphone, action cam, dslr etc. I never use auto because I hate it. So this was all tried on manual. Now, I do regret the fact that I did not record more stuff because I never thought this video to have so many views. And again, I'm not a big time reviewer I'm El and who knows me knows I'm putting raw stuff out there and am wrong many times, but this time it was a hard NO. By all means, my opinion should not be treated as the sole truth. But I can not recommend it. I dont' know where the other video is, but should be in the same time frame if you'd care to look it up. Today purchased my First action camera Dji osmo action 4, my friend was have gopro 12 actually in day, without editing Go pro wins on sunny or cloudy day the go pro awesome in out of box, but i am the low light user so i tested out in low light OA4 VS GP 12 honestly i really happy from my chose, the OA4 unbelievable better than gopro even with tweaking some iso and shutter speed...
Also the mimo app is soooooooooo easy to use honestly than gopro
the MIMO app is the biggest shit in the world....I got a new android phone and the mimo app does not even work...quality of post is horrible...even my phone camera is better...lightcut by DJI is a bit better

@@boogiedownbronx73 actually yeah mimo is so bad also lightcut better, but im working with premiere 2020 and the quality i would say its amazing and for me as motorcycle night rider the FOV ultra wide is f**king amazing
I've had 2 fail so far. Waiting on my 2nd replacement from DJI currently/ DJI customer service after the 1st failure has been abysmal. I cannot in good conscience recommend this product or the company at this time. Is Gopro any better? I can't say, but this was the most disappointing purchase I've made in years.
Sorry to hear so. I don’t recommend both companies for customer service. Just pray you buy and everything is fine. Dji has lousy csr imo because it’s mostly Chinese and they don’t understand customer service too well. And GoPros csr is I think philipino or something which is also not the best. Very polite tho, however being polite does not help anyone with a product or solution. Hope you have your luck soon 🙏
@@VlogsByEl agreed.. The language barrier has definitely been present, tho they have all been very friendly at least. It's been very obvious that every CSR I've spoken to does not speak English as a first language, but Chinese rather. My 3rd camera is supposed to show up tomorrow so I'm hopefully everything works well.. We'll see!

Any action camera is only as good as the quality of customer service you receive when the camera goes wrong

I have the focus issues with my 32 day old Osmo Action 4. Sold my Gopro hero 8 to buy this. Had to complete a Repair Request Form on the DJI website and now have to post the camera to Holland from the UK, where I live. If they don't fix it I'll immediately go to my credit card company, using Section 75, which is a protection policy we have here in the UK when a customer has purchased an item which is not fit for purpose. Any action camera is only as good as the quality of service you receive when the camera goes wrong
what exactly was the issue with the focus? I just bought one and there is something just off about the image even in daylight.

There’s a follow up video with proof that shows DJI is really bad beyond acceptance. This video is not recorded on a DJI nor a GoPro and also it’s not mentioned anywhere that is what people assume. But my video is very clear what it’s about. An opinion. 😊 hope that’s clear. Wishing you a good day

@koRiAnaV19 nah all good just want to be transparent. Tbh don’t remember otherwise would have posted on the other comments. And I never thought it would get these many views and some people would be so sensitive but I totally support DJI to be clear. Just with other products and am still open to others experiences and opinions as long as they are realistic. 🙏
so as i can see gopro looks better to eyes while watching footage side by side in some honest review buying gp12 is better than dji oa4?

Hi there, I can’t advice you on which is better. IMO this is a personal choice for individuals. However, I returned the DJI and am super happy with my Gopro 12 now. But again I’m a consumer not a promoter. 🙏 oh and soon will post the comparison video.

They are convinced by the massive compensation they are getting from DJI to promote the product. I will say, though, congratulations to DJI on producing their first action camera that can match the Hero 7 IQ with the OA4. Everything before was Hero 5 level IQ.
Wauw that is a bold claim. Can you perhaps help me to understand more? Do you think I used it wrong even tho I use manual settings? Can such thing as user error happen with manual settings that are the same on both devices at the same time? And should it be possible or should it be out of the box good quality? Interested to know.
