The last time Doctor Who was “cancelled” the head of the BBC had it in for the show. Even if the show bombs on Disney plus, the UK will sell the King’s kidneys before letting the BBC shut it down again.

I am glad Moffat's signature style of writing is still present. Introduce characters that we start adoring and kill them off and the usual kill the companion plot. I love it!

Okay so after watching the episode and looking back on the last, i can see the callback to the doctors family, first susan, then this episode where he said dad to dad, maybe im overthinking but maybe ruby may be related to susan in some way or maybe its just rtd and steven moffat giving us nostalgia, they did also mention fish fingers and custard which i love and the clerics are back. I did think maybe ruby might be related to the trickster.
i love mystery storylines.
Also remember that neighbour who also keeps traveling with the doctor and ruby following them, to the 60's and now shes the ambulance. Anyone have theories
The fact this clip got more views that the actual podcast did should show enough people miss the old hosts.

I wasn't a huge fan of that minotaur episode...it wasn't terrible though. I liked that there was a room for the Doctor (#11) but the Doctor wasn't too curious about that one, because he had people to save. The world is not black and white.
He's got better sniffing abilities than Sleepy Joe.

For a I guess you could call it a bottle episode it was surprisingly intense.
already looks way better than the first two episodes. In Moffat we trust.

Kind of want to see the doctor lose in this episode and go boom, but then someone goes back in time and removes the mine from that very spot. Ooooo perhaps this is what will happen. You never know. (Also if I don't see or hear a single boom in this episode Ill be disappointed) 😄
I don’t think he will loose like that but I think a lot of the side characters will die I think someone will even get shot trying to save the doctor which will emotionally hurt him
I'm still thinking it's a Kingsman situation and someone's going to push him away and take his place.
The episode was pretty good, I enjoyed 95% of the episode. I didn't like the "plot armor" conclusion for Ruby and the doctor. It felt a bit arbitrary for it to just be over.

4 episodes of doctor who and the doctor has cried in literally every episode. Since when does the doctor cry at every difficult moment. Doctor is not a cry baby who cries on every cue.

at just 2.04 million overnight viewers in the uk, that is another drop of 360.000 viewers from episode 2 and continues what i call the whittaker effect. as just 15% watch iplayer so they will need an awful lot of watchers to gets these dire figures anywhere near the dissapointing ratngs of the tennant specials. oh well i am off now to go and stroke the grass in the grounds of wayne manor!

I enjoyed Space Babies and especially enjoyed The Devil's Chord, but just finished Boom and it's honestly pretty bad. I had expected better of Moffat, but I'm not sure why. I'm sure there will be better episodes after this major disappointment.

Even the best ones like the Rosa Parks and India/Pakistan episodes felt like a) the villain had no real character development and b) the villains left too many plot holes. They seem to have trouble writing people in more than black and white, which used to be one of the strengths of the show.

And besides that not every villain needs to be redeemable they just need to be fun and a threat! The fact that you use the Pakistan episode as your example where the villain literally get the redeemed and becomes the yaz beloved grandfather is hysterical!
