This is wonderful, plain and simple. I'd say this is what we should have seen when the Doctor actually froze Gallifrey. Great work and keep at it sir you've got quite a talent.

After seeing all the show, 10 and 12 ended up my favorites.
But watching Christophers series was what got me into it initially, and I think he's right up there with the best of them.
Makes sense his is in a bad shape. He was the incarnation right after the destruction of Gallifrey. Tardis needed recuperating.

The sheer joy of Eccleston's delivery of that line grabs me by the heart every time. We might never know why he really left DW so soon, but he deserved better.
Eccleston is doing amazing work with his Doctor for Big Finish! It honestly feels like he never left...
The things I've read, interviews with him, lead me to believe that he had serious problems with how some of those in power there were treating some of the people that worked there. Whether it was racism or classism or whatever other ism that people use to treat "the other" (not "The Other" from Who legends, just "the other" as in another group than yours) with hatred, apparently it was happening there.
@@MaryAnnNytowl it's the discrimination, disregard for the rest of the crew by the higher-ups and his mental health deteriorating
Maybe he quit because John Barrowman showed him his dick
@@MaryAnnNytowl I haven't heard much of that, but I do know Ecclestone was suffering from severe mental health issues at the time, he probably couldn't cope with the pressure. It's great to see him doing work for Big Finish though, we didn't have anywhere near enough time with him as the Doctor.
I still can't get over how well this is written and it's only stock footage, made by someone who truly understands Doctor Who
and if you add in the twist in 'the timeless child' it kinda adds to all the tardis's showing up, since no idea how many the doctor regenerations had/will have. almost like they knew something like this could happen.

Underrated comment
Hahaha got to love Eccleston roughness. That made his personality. I'm from West Yorkshire so am close to Jodie and Eccleston. Being northern 😂 and Eccleston was absolutely fantastic. Such a rough doctor but so much love and personality. Especially for one season. And to be the revival. And after the time war... Just.. Fantastic.
Also. Obviously. Billie Piper. I've watched every classic episode and every modern episode soo many times. And Billie is still my all time favorite. I cant shake it. And honestly I can barely watch the episodes with her in. It's far to upsetting to me, also because of some personal reasons that.. Some things that happen to relate to her. Her time period. Her accent. Her look, and someone I loved and is now lost. Went to school with her and was friends with her.
So it's like. Really hard to watch them episodes. Even if they are sooo dear.
Percussive Maintenance at its finest! Fits in with the rough areas of England or the Hills of Appalachia in the US equally well.
@@tommywinehouse1742 Lore-wise I really like him being the first incarnation after the war doctor. I always imagine him now to be the 'PTSD'-Doctor who has to now process all the horrors of the time war before he can be lighthearted and aloof again .... which happened while travelling with Rose, peaking when he regenerated into the 10th doctor
@@tommywinehouse1742 "Eccleston was absolutely fantastic" you know :)
There’s something about McGann’s line “Doctor...all of you. I salute.” I got genuine chills from it.

I've never understood what was the meaning of this sentence. Could someone explain, please?
I love how the second doctor is the one that immediately gets it. I don't know why, it just seems perfectly in character that 2 and 11 would be on the same wavelength.
Because Matt Smith, the actor that played Eleven, based much of his Doctor's portrayal on Two
I’ve always wanted to see a story involving the 2nd and 11th doctor. The raggedy man and the space hobo the perfect combo.
For the younger generations who haven't seen any of the 'Classic Who', this is a near perfect introduction to them.
I'm agree
It would've been a little bit more funny if when they find out there 300+ more doctor, the tenth doctor says "are any of you ginger??"
This comment is vastly underrated. 😆 I now hear that in my head-canon while watching this.
And possibly for that 300+ regeneration, there's no ginger, not even one hahhaha

I love the idea that at some point in every Doctor's life, they go to Gallifrey during Day of the Doctor.
honestly, for every regeneration of the doctor, they should have had an episode where that specific doctor went and helped save gallifrey, would have been amazing
I think it will make the day of the doctor lose some of its specialty, as we would be constantly reminded that it exists, and it would get annoying after the second time it happened
@@yalieyal4362 true, but it it could be cool if they mention it as a line, like “and where were you.” “Oh just had to head over to Gallifrey real quickly.”
@@jkdragonjk6895 That would be a better approach than a full episode, just an off hand comment by each Doctor implying they went to save Gallifrey.
@@jkdragonjk6895 this is something that the future incarnations of The Doctor would say after returning to pick up his (or her) companion/s after his (or her) quick trip after saving Gallifrey during the Day of the Doctor...
But it wouldn't fit with the overall story - everyone except 11 forgets because it only happened in his personal timeline.
If this was put in as you suggest, then 9 would be a happier person, 10 would be kinder, and 11 wouldn't be so self-destructively reckless

not WHOT WHAAAAAT
WHOT
What!?!
Yeah, he didn't need to make 10 say anything. I love the clip he used. Very resourceful all around with the footage of the doctors he had.
I think it’s the 3rd doctor i love, he just accepts that they need to freeze gallifrey but wants to know to protect it from what. I don’t know much about the older doctors but i love this in so many ways
While I love what we got in The Day of the Doctor, I wish we got this instead. Using The Shepard's Boy is a stroke of genius.
This is now how I see the Doctor saving Gallifrey, the BBC's version has been blocked from my mind
Put the original music back in and we're good
Its essential the same
I've actually edited this in to my version of DOTD replacing the original scene, doesnt fit in too badly
@@The0thDoctor how did you do it?
@@Dilopho found some trial software online that did the trick
The Confession Dial: "I want to make the most epic Doctor Who cross-over in Time and Space"
Gallifrey High command: "But the calculation will take ... hundred of years !"
The Confession Dial: "Oh yes hundred and hundred, but don't worry. I started a long time ago"
or 6 years
This is just like that meme in Interstellar. If you know what I mean
Excellently made. The BBC should definitely include this as an extra in any future DVD releases.
The Second Doctor: He knows what he's doing! Or at least I hope he does!
The Sixth Doctor: ... Thank you.
The Eleventh Doctor: Time to get cracking Doctor!
The Fifth Doctor (In a very monotone unenthusiastic response to saving Gallifrey): Yes alright.
Also this is the best soundtrack of Who period
*Two* : _My dear fellow, you are being a bit_ dim, _aren’t you?_
*Six* : WhOmSt’vE
*"WhOmst'VE"
That 2nd doctors line always cracks me up 😂😂
Six does look like THAT sort of guy
Imagine having to witness the same call 10 times, before being the one to make that call yourself.
You mean 9 times. 1-8 were in the call, War didn't need to be, 9 was there, 10 didn't need to be. So 9
The time streams were out of sync. They couldn't retain it.
Whenever a Doctor meets a future version of himself he never remembers it as hes returned to the time where it hadn't happened yet. Essentially altering time in the Doctor Who universe is of the creating a parallel universe variety (similar to Avengers Endgame).
Essentially meaning don't apply logic to something that experiments with the wibbly-wobbly, timey-wimey fabric of the universe
Watcher Zero it’s called consciously interacting with your own timestream. When the Doctors interact with each other it causes a large enough paradox in their own timestream so that the streams become out of sync, draining their memory of it. Some people even speculate it can drain time energy from forming for a while (so that for example weeping angels can’t feed of a timezap on a person who has done it recently). That could be a way to gain a personal shield against the Angels if you know that they are coming, if it is true!
I can imagine the CoFD Doctors, the Shalka Doctor, the Nick Briggs Doctor, hell even the Peter Cushing Doctor joining in to save Gallifrey
The Peter Cushing Doctor would certainly be interesting.
Every now and then, when my day has been weary and I'm feeling down I come back and watch this video. I must have done this a hundred or so times by now and every time I do I feel better. Every. Single. Time. This is an amazing feat of editing and truly something to be adored for many more years by many more viewers, thank you. I salute you...
If there's ever a Special Edition release of Day Of The Doctor, THIS NEEDS TO BE ADDED IN
Amen to that my friend Amen to that.
I agree. This should be canon.
I agree!
How hard can it be?
Deffo
If Eccleston appeared along side Tennant and Smith:
"GERONIMOOOOOOO!!!"
"Allons-Y!"
"Ha ha ha ha, fantastic!! Gallifrey stands!!"
Maybe he would just say FANTASTIC
horaciosi You should do one with the masters saving gailafry
Prof Hulk that is a good idea, give yourself a pat on the back
Fantastic! Oh, FANTASTIC!
9th doctor would just smile thats why i love him so much still my favorite doctor
"Gallifrey stands!" What an amazing tribute to everything Doctor Who has been and become about. Helping people. Saving people. At least this time everybody lives. What an immeasurably poignant edit of an already lovely scene.
It’s amazing how you gave each doctor equal feeling screen time
It's hilarious to see Five look at the Time War happening out the window and just flip like 'Nope.'
He would probably be the one thats the most horrefied by it. The easiest way too describe 5 is "A Good man who scolds himself that he cant be better" so learning that THIS awaits cant be easey fore him.
just imagine how one through eight may have felt seeing a TIME WAR in your future.
The horrified look on the 4th Doctor's face when the 11th said, "I destroyed my own people." hit me hard as though the 4th had fully grasped what his future self meant without further clarification.
Good thing none of them can retain the memories. Even 10 didn't keep them.
@@neptuneplaneptune3367 the english wasn't englishing there buddy😔

If it worked for the Fonz, it can certainly work for the Doctor.
Why have I only just found this???? This is incredible!!!!!
The fact that this show has such a standing legacy that a compilation of what essentially a functional dialog and plot line could be cobbled together from over 50 years of television is just absolutely stunning. The way this was edited together you would think that the last 50 years of doctor who had been written leading up to this moment with its intention in mind
Shhh, Spoilers. ;)
"And for my next trick...Everybody lives!"
Fantastic editing.
Welp. This video just gained a huge degree of accuracy after this season
Man, I can't even watch the newest Dr. Who seasons.
@@cynicalsentences9513 If you ever watch it, stop after the 11th Doctor. Maybe watch some of 12.
@@z-mkgaming7464 12 has some pretty good speeches. Those are definitely worth watching.
@@OmarM626 eehh yeah.
Nothing's wrong with 12. He's one of the best doctor's. It's after him that's not canon anymore
I love the idea of Thirteen going back to save Galifrey… Even if it’s just for a moment, her home world is safe once more. :’)
Who’s cutting the onions?
Once he's got some performances under his belt I hope you add Ncuti's 15th doctor to this too.
The countdown of all the Doctors at the end, from 13 to 1, is a stroke of genius.
I NEVER NOTICED
And timed so well with the music, too!
Season 12 Master: 'You might wanna say that again, pal.'
came for the comment here
He'd probably make someone say it again on pain of death. Then kill them.
Not me watching this in my campus dining hall holding back my nerd tears because of how beautiful this edit is. Doctor Who has become such a staple of my life lately. I cannot thank you enough for this. I’m in school to be a video editor and they way you extended this story is remarkable. Thank you.
Literally same. 😊
How to take something that was already superbly emotional and powerful - and make it SO much better.
Really well done.
I like that it was the Second Doctor who understood 11's plan, considering that Troughton was the most influential in how he laid the groundwork for the Doctors that followed after Pertwee. In fact the Smith's Eleventh Doctor takes influence from other Doctors including Troughton's.
It also makes sense canonically seeing as the 2nd doctor first saw the corruption of the time lords, the true power of the daleks etc... While the first was still just running away going on small adventures.. In my mind he was the one to start preparing
@@amused7928 you are absolutely right
9 took the most influence from 8 and 3. 10 was 4 and 5. 11 is 2 and 7, 12 is 1 and 3, and as as far as I'm concerned 13 is just a mediocre amalgamation of all of them
This video low key predicting the Doctor being the timeless child with the 300 plus regenerations
Good point.
Yeah but unlike timeless child it's good
The Timeless Child bullshit IS NOT CANON!
@@jonahs92 I agree.
@@jonahs92 i dont object to the idea of the Timeless Child being the basis of Time Lords, but having The Doctor be the Timeless Child doesnt sit well in the lore at all.
This is a brilliant reimagining of a brilliant scene. "Fantastic" work.
This is perfect seeing 11 recruit all his past selves like we saw in the Day of The Doctor I love how you added 12 and 13 in there.
I find it fitting how at the beginning, Two - Matt Smith's favorite Doctor - is the first to agree with Eleven.
From what I've heard Matt Smith wasn't much of a Whovian before he got the part, and had only seen the new stuff.
@@Ethan-dn1wc Then you heard crap. He's said Tom Baker and 2 are his favorite. I knew that a decade ago. Actually get information other than some random Reddit post
@@SStupendous Well, to be fair, you're both right. Matt Smith wasn't a Whovian before he got the part (he was born during the 'dark age') but after he was cast he really got into it (unlike Jodie, for example, who was told not to by Chibnall) and went back and watched the classic Doctor Who. He said he absolutely loved the Second Doctor and this inspired his outfit. I didn't know he specifically liked Tom Baker though, that's really interesting!
@@Fooq Yeah! He said he felt like a kid meeting 4th in the Day of the Doctor, and Tom's said Matt was the only person who appreciated him at the filming (BBC as per normal treated him like crap.)
@@Fooq I am thinking though that Jodie had at least seen some of it before being cast.
Thank you for including Christopher. Wouldn't be the same without him.
MyLessons RADIO actually part of what is here including Eccleston is actually in the Day of the Doctor special where he says and now for my next trick. Which was a bit taken from his last story Parting of the ways.
Seeing a bit more of him in it was good. For me he is the real War Doctor.
I Love Eccleston cause he was first Doctor, Absolut fantastic !!!
