Holy shit.. I remember talking to this kid at Troopers Feb camp in 2015. They kept calling him up to rotate on the snareline and not me xD. Cool to see him play at this level. Lmao don't remember him being being this good at the camp, but I guess this shows what a lotta hard work can yield you!
@@dominicsteiber995 I think what it might be is the left hand plays for the first measure 1 - li - la li - la - 4 - li, and then for the second measure he plays eighth notes but offset by a sixtuplet partial, like R l - - l - R l - - l - R l - - l R l - - l -
Dang, we should start using better mikes for these because this is so cool but, I feel like I can't listen in on the fastest things wit this much reverb on a snare. Loving it though.
sodanomusic I don’t think I’ll be there but, I suppose if it must be indoor, and you’re using a phone, being over the drum is usually pretty good (like perpendicular to the drumhead). Maybe you can put it on a cymbal boom stand and not worry about holding it while getting a perfect overhead shot since soloists don’t move...I wasn’t complaining. I’ll still watch this a few more times lol!
The difference between an outstanding drummer and his superior happens at the 0:53 second mark, this “mistake” that would’ve crashed and burned a slightly lesser player. This little guy is obviously at the tip-top of the game. He deserves his reputation, as well as on Enter the Kraken. Just that: SUPERIOR in every aspect. Technically genius imo…loved it!
Evan caimol you're forgetting that diddles/double strokes are a basic need in rudimental drumming and that repeating the same beat more than once calls it an ostinato, which is a key focus in any muscle structure at all

My school went to the Plano drum line Competition last year and got whooped. Now the reason is even clearer!

This will sound really naive but I am a newer snare drummer but are left hand shots a thing I couldn't tell
Yes

Get sponsored by friends and family. Also Corps do a lot of fundraising. They'll help you find a way to pay for your costs
Anyone know what he’s playing at 3:10

I dont remember. Sorry about that. Next year I will make sure and get scores to post with the vid.
doesnt this kids solos seem similar to that one other guy who also played for scv who did alien hip hop for his solo
2:25 nice 3:4
Is Brandon's solo up?
I don't think he did one
oh ok
Brandon who? 😄
What the fuck is that shit at 3:10 gawd damn
honestly better than Brandon olander
way better... he's currently the best snare drummer in the world.
I dont know about best drummer in the world, I rewatched Brandon's 2015 solo, honestly they're both evenly matched.
JohnnyBoyy bryce gardener is currently ranked number 1 in the world though
Dylan Catlin bryce gardener is currently ranked number 1 in the world in the records.
+Dylan Catlin Bryce didn't drop 2 sticks during his solo
michael siciliano vid: "reeee how did miles kenobbie not win"
this vid: "lol yeah brandon olander sux"
how about have some respect for the musicians
Milo Johnson Exactly.
so many diddles and he repeats the same beat over and over. His diddles sound like buzze's. But it's decent
Evan caimol tight interpretation is cleanest and half the time he's doing more than just a diddle.
