  • In the second chapter of this two-part documentary series, daring people and enterprises take wind and solar energy to new frontiers across Asia through groundbreaking renewable energy projects. Deploying renewable energy projects on new terrain or on the sea is challenging but it's transforming the region for good.
The programme features the installation of the world's largest nearshore floating solar energy testbed in seawater, SUNSEAP's 5MW floating solar system on the straits of Johor, north of Singapore. The sea presents new challenges and they must innovate to cope with fluctuating tides, waves, as well as wildlife, in order to send electricity back to the mainland.
The show also features the pioneering work of The Blue Circle, a wind energy company based in Singapore, as their team explores a new wind power site in Cambodia. It also features the development of the first foreign-owned wind farms in Vietnam.
Watch Part 1 of Climate For Change: • Towards A Sustainable ...

It is a joy to see countries and people's life being enhanced. I certainly wish that everybody is happy and productive in improving their life and making the World a beautiful place to live in. Energy harvesting and growth will also invite industry that need the power to run. It will all snowball to creating industry and economy boost that will help all the people in various living standard.

What are the negative impact of the floating PV to the ecosystem in the affected waters underneath?.The panels are blocking sunlight to enter the water surface.. If any negative impact, I still think it is better overall benefits the environment with cleaner production of energy, good use of dead water space without deforestation.

Advanced efficient solar panels contain cobalt. Cobalt is abundantly found and mined in The republic of Congo.
The mining is highly toxic due to the radiation from other metals found alongside them and chemical used to clean cobalt is pumped into water supplies nearby villages.
Children are born with birth defects.
Solar panels is the only renewable energy feasible for singapore but due to land mass, it competes with housing and economic activities.
The placement of panels in the waters north of Singapore is the only possible site as South of Singapore sees too much traffic from vessels.
In summary, Solar Energy is not economically viable to replace LNG.
Nuclear energy on the other hand makes more sense. Placement of nuclear plants in the southern island of Singapore is safe with today's available safe and reliable technology.

In order to harness most of the energy from wind, vertical-axis wind turbines (VAWT) perform much better than traditional wind turbines, which need to turn to the direction of the wind.

Do we really want solar and wing when we can have the newest almost free FUSION ELECTRIC POWER to energise all old fission nuclear and fossil fuel power stations? These old reconditioned power plants will then be virtually costless to run as they are self fuelling and this is what you need to learn about. This is the promise of the new physics of medium temperature plasma FUSION NUCLEAR POWER, that that is so urgently needed. It is cheap to build and virtually costless once running, totally green, and 24hr stable electric supply technology that can retrofit all old power stations and build new ones on any scale and on a tiny footprint, safely within our communities. There is no need then for an ever extended, ugly, and complex grid structure. Well, the knowledge and fusion prototype are here already! Many gigantic and complex super expensive plasma confinement technologies like ITER are being experimented with around the world. They are all now enormously superseded by "AUREON ENERGY LTD" and their nuclear fusion SAFIRE GENERATOR. It can also react and denature old spent fission power station fuel rod transuranic leftovers and render them radiation safe. The regular fusion physics players believe in an ancient theory of how the sun and all stars operate, which is why they will struggle to ever make commercial power. To catch up they need to study natures own way with "ELECTRIC UNIVERSE THEORY" and medium temperature plasma physics and its confining Birkland Currents, operating throughout space. Study all this at "THUNDERBOLTS PROJECT.com" and become a real scientist where you learn to actually throw away old theories when all the new data simply do not fit them anymore and then update all your friends and peers about what is soon to be available worldwide.

So far wind and solar has caused more problems than solutions. I saw trucks building roads and wind farm sites. I saw ships. I saw the output could be zero to rated output capacity. At the moment it appears to be a large experiment to save the climate at the expense of the environment. The goal appears to be not to burn anything. Eliminate the flame. Not for power generation or transportation. We will have to eliminate schedules as well. There will not be a way to predict anythings completion. Non predictable power will make that impossible. This will be a culture shock to a lot of the world's producers. Maybe you will work that day. Maybe you won't. We can enjoy a static climate while we are waiting.

@@jamesholden6142 🤣No sir Nuclear is dead..there are 4 basic problems with nuclear and they are not safe.1. takes decades to build and needs billions 2. the power output cannot be altered fast 3. the maintenance is a bitch 4. the nuclear waste is world killing.
the best solution is Wind and solar with home , community and grid level storage. the batteries are going to be 50 dollar per kilowatt in 3-4 years. and that too without any drawbacks of nuclear. and best part its scalable. can you beat that with any system.

    • @nexu6517
      @nexu6517 3 года назад +2

@@sudeeptaghosh That's very short-sighted. Nuclear energy has been proven to be more efficient and safer. We are in 2021, not 1986. Nuclear waste can be safely kept deep underground in dedicated facilities. In fact, Singapore has one of the largest underground armoury that stores missiles, military ammunution etc. Surely some of these armoury can be safely turned into storage for nuclear waste. The days of Chernobyl are long gone and we don't have risks of earthquakes and tsunamis that hit Fukushima. Maintenance isn't a bitch. All technology requires maintenance. It is no different than petrochemical plants currently in use.
Im not saying nuclear energy is the only way to go. All of these, solar, wind and nuclear can be a three-pronged strategy. Nuclear energy should never be discounted from our battle against climate change.
So no, nuclear is not dead.
