Dude, I am ALL up in their business in the comments section - spreading truth, awareness, and perspective. 😊

I know this is a late comment, but at least Reptile and Rain got some pretty good buffs. Scorpion got a new string too, though it doesn't seem to have changed much.

Next time try recording the youtube audio too, it looks like you're only capturing it through your mic, this makes it very hard to hear what they're saying and what you're reacting to. Just some constructive feedback, I dig your stuff!

I agree with that. Their audio was all over the place in the podcast - Brady was fairly audible, but M2Dave was quiet and Burrito was perfect. But yeah, I'll be doing more thorough testing of the audio next time.

Thoughts on making every Kameo move an ambush ?

Not a good idea at all. Imagine how frequently we'd see Lao Hat if it could be done whenever the player chose to do it. We'd be turning every character into their own version of Sindel with the 50/50 vortex loop.
Having said that, I do think that there are a few Kameo moves that could be turned into Ambushes.

I think the reason he hates MK1 so much is because he's a Sub Zero, and the reason MK1 is MY favorite is because I'm a Baraka main. Seriously. I'm trying to get to the bottom of why they hate this game so much, and I think thats a part of it..

My bet is he’s just pumping these lazy videos out every day for the ad revenue, he is a known scammer after all so the little bit of money he makes from the videos probably means a lot to him.
Literally everyone acknowledges the game was rushed and has a bunch of glaring problems like no cross play still for king of the hill but some of the stuff he says is just dumb like when he says “this game is just poke to poke to poke.” Maybe he wants every string to result into a safe spacing trap so you don’t have to take any risks or think on offense. If someone is just jabbing you over and over again that’s your fault for just sitting there and doing nothing on defense. It’s not any different from any other game where jabs lead into a frame trap just as strings do the same. If someone is just waiting for the string to end in order to try and take back their turn, you can stop the string early and press again or throw them while they sit patiently holding block.
The most charitably I could give him is maybe he wants characters to have better high low mixups like Raiden so it isn’t just strike throw shimmy pressure but I’m not sure he even understands what he’s even complaining about.

@@stephenm707 After listening to their most recent podcast it sounds like most of this stems from beef with NRS.. I think that's what's going on.

@@stephenm707 The tones of Tom and Dynasty's voice in the podcast they made the other night, sounded like they're really bitter towards the company and borderline traumatized from being ostracized from the NRS scene, and in their defense - NRS has a history of this crap. It's all over their Wikipedia page. Regardless, that has NOTHING to do with MK1. I play it every night. It's one of my favorites, and a shame the community died shortly after release.

@stephenm707 But yeah I saw the "poke poke" video he made, even commented on it like, "Yo, that's not what my matches look like at all.."

I think if they did 3 vs 3 (2 kameos) that would address many of the issues. Also, just work on improving the overall product - most of the issues people have with this game would go unnoticeable if the product was as good as their competitors. The GAME is fine. It's the product.

    • @mrAPchem
      @mrAPchem  3 месяца назад

I haven't gotten that far into the podcast to comment on 3 vs. 3, but as far as your point about the overall product of MK1 being the issue over the gameplay, I completely agree.
The vast majority of the negative press surrounding the game has more to do with Invasions, missing content, bad online experiences and expensive skins/fatalities than it does the lack of versatility of the Kameos or characters. Fixing those things would go a looooooooong way toward rehabilitating the game's image.

@@mrAPchem Well, I think this game's image is done. Better luck next time. They messed it up too much. Hopefully we at least get to kombat pack 2..

@@mrAPchem But I love it. It's just poor product quality. The gameplay is just as good as it's competitors. I play them all side by side for an equal amount of time and they're all super great. I play MK1 and T8 the most

@@mrAPchem I mean, you can't expect a bunch of people to show up for tournaments when the game de-synchrinizes - robbing you of a proper opportunity to practice and get good at it, and the casual consumer had too many options with SF6 and T8 to truly care about finding a way to make MK1 work, and it's sad because MK1 is just as good and in some ways better, although not entirely..
