I think also what should be added to the rules of spam is that something has to have the ability to be abused. Just because it can be used over and over again doesn’t mean it’s spam. It could mean a person is not responding to a move properly and the player is just taking advantage of that. Some players will dm about me zoning but they don’t consider that mileenas projectiles are very punishable or that kitanas fan toss is just a high. They don’t realize their chance to respond is whenever she does princess flick or wind bomb in between the fan tosses. For some reason players have this weird honor about zoning. Spamming is when Jade does purple shadow, or when starfire cancels her trait into one of her projectiles. Starfire projectiles also went across the screen an instant. Literally would cover the whole screen in 1 frame after it activated.
The people that call mk1 a party game feels so disingenuous to me. Especially since fighting games have always had some sort of casual game feature to them. Friendsships, chess kombat, that Mario party game, and tag team has always been asked for. It really confuses me what players actually want from mortal kombat sometimes. I understand that this game can be very frustrating sometimes but we can’t allow our arguments to become disingenuous otherwise our points will become moot to others. And the game will stay in the unsatisfying state that it is in now.

I'm going to have to do my own video that's Smoke themed. My characters player base are downplaying with straight intellectual dishonesty or are straight unable to understand the character. I'm the only one not saying he's bottom 5 lol.
    Keep making these they're needed.

I've seen you play - I loooooove the way use his overhead as a long-range whiff punish tool rather than some kind of mixup. Also, there's no way that character is Bottom 5 with the good things he has. At worst, he's decent and has his own gameplan. He certainly isn't worse than Sub-Zero and Sub is better than he gets credit for.
Speaking of gameplay, I should be free this weekend to play our set to 10 and shoot the breeze with you.

@@mrAPchem Smoke is top 10. The problem is everyone becomes obsessed with "he doesn't have pressure or mix" and... I know that's how NRS presented him but it's not the case.
He's this weird runaway character that vortexes you on defense, your punishment for over extending is being set played but he doesn't want to force it. It's a weird paradoxical design but I like it actually.

I think the only thing I disagree with is MKX being scrubby. I understand the argument about 50/50s, but that's about it. You still needed to be good in order to win matches. Granted, I speak as someone who's okay/decent at best at MK. I enjoyed this video though, as well as your others.

I played lots and lots of MKX and the vast majority of my wins in matches came from either the opponent guessing wrong on a last-moment 50/50 or because I was able to setplay my opponent until they died with GM Sub.
And it's not like I had to earn my position in the neutral to get there either. I could literally do a D4 in the very beginning of the match and use that advantage to start my 50/50. If it hit, the opponent was automatically carried to the corner where I either mixed them until they died, or they found a way to mix me until I died.
If that were simply the way that just one or a few characters played, then that'd be one thing, but when it's basically the entire cast, then that's an issue with the game. Virtually every character played in exactly this manner.

@mrAPchem That's a fair point. I'll admit, I miss MKX's crazy fast gameplay and variety of options, so that definitely influences my opinion. It could've gotten more optimized to allow for smarter plays to take hold instead of guesses. I wish MK11 built off of MKX's systems without changing them entirely. I'm at least happy MK1 went back to having a lot of combo potential again.

@@Vivid114 Yeah MKX with friends is one of the best experiences in fighting games, especially when you both know how to play!
I met some amazing people playing MKX, so I love it for that and also because it added a lot of great things to MK1 - intros, brutalities, match banter, customizations of characters, crazy combo routes, etc... But it didn't require players to play in a fundamentally sound fashion due to its extreme focus on offense.
It was still lots of fun though with friends, so long as you weren't getting schmixed to death!
