'22 M3P owner here....even the "slower" ones are still quite quick. I saw a new RWD long range a few weeks ago, which does 4.9 0-60 and every time the driver accelerated, he had the pedal pinned to the floor (which happened about 6 times on my way to Home Depot lol). He was definitely annoying everyone on the road but at the same time, I was surprised by how quickly he was getting up to speed. If you think about it, that's actually quicker than cars like the Audi S4, MB C43, Infiniti Q50RS, BMW 340i (not the M340i) when accelerating without brake-torquing or using launch control (look at Car & Driver's 5-60 acceleration numbers for those cars, which is a measure they started using some time back to gauge how cars actually "feel" and perform in every-day driving). That's basically just stab and go for the Tesla, no launch needed. As I watched this guy making a complete A**hat out of himself, I was thinking that's really more than enough power to just have a good time. Still, I wouldn't trade my Performance model for the RWD, but I've thought more than once that I would have probably been happy with the dual motor LR if it wasn't for my childish need to blast from 0-60 in 3 seconds from time to time. My next car will be the S, and I'm not sure if I'll spring for the Plaid or just get the LR, which is honestly more than quick enough with its 10.x sec 1/4 mile at ~129-130mph. But still, there's a part of me that thinks I will regret not getting the quickest model lol. Maybe I should get the LR and use the rest of the money for therapy. 🙃
I was thinking the same; I only had test driven LR AWD. I went with the performance and didn't regret doing it for a sec. Performance feels a lot more fun to drive than LR AWD. However, the delivery experience was terrible for my car.

I am happy you mentioned the seats @5:21 .. you answered my question. The other day, I test drove model 3 long range 2024. The first thing I noticed was the seats were the most comfortable Tesla seats … I’ve tried long range Tesla Y and long range Tesla X (both 2024). Model three 2024 is the most comfortable seats and the softest too. I was wondering how was the seats in the performance model three. Your comment here answered my question. Thank you.
I test drove both and I had to pull the trigger on the performance model bro, it's just so fast and styling is so cool and for me it wasn't that much more. Knowing at a tap of the throttle I can do 0-60 in 2.9 and 1/4 in 10.9 is just insane, and from what i heard the performance is getting a 5% power boost in feb next year, someone leaked their software roadmap so it can match the LG battery with the Panasonic battery? not too sure what that means Apparently it's coming in a week so I'm sooo excited, ordered black on black, black car, black seats 🥳
Do you have the US car (panasonic) or you live outside US (LG) ? Because the panasonic battery is the one to have, the LG car would need a significant power update to match the top end power of the panasonic car
@@louisolivierfortin I’m getting the one with the LG, but to be honest, both LG and Panasonic have very similar 0-60 times even 0-80 times as well but after 100mph the Panasonic is a bit faster… But I wanna get the china build quality and someone has cracked 10’s 1/4 with the LG battery now so I’m happy with that too
@@slickahhthing Yeah it's still an amazingly quick car for the money. Thing is, I wanted tesla to solve the previous gen's top end performance, as the 0-60 was already plenty quick. With the new LG car you still can feel a significant drop in performance past 70 mph, which is what I hate. Seems like the panasonic battery equipped cars dont make you feel that anymore. You can actually see that phenomenon in the G's graph on the Dragy app. The drop in Gs felt is much more gradual on the panasonic car than the LG car. Still, it's a great buy anyway
I waited months for my LR order of the 2024 M3P in ultra red, but the performance was released before I received my order. So, I switched to the P instead. The performance is incredibly fast. I drive it like I stole it, and whoever gets in the car is taken aback by its speed. It’s literally too much. In hindsight, I probably should have gotten the LR, but the P is still a lot of fun.
I have an N54 335i as my weekend/track car and had an M car in mind to have as a daily, after test driving the M3P I was sold right away. The way this car accelerates is incredible. From the adaptive suspension to the better brakes and style. The M3P is actually a bargain for a car that offer this level of performance. Love my decision every time I drive it 💯
excellent choice considering you have the M2. I drive my M3P in standard mode 70% of the time (3.8s 0-60, similar to M3LR) since it's fast enough. When I put it in insane I tend to get impatient with other drivers and go way over the speed limit
The new interior looks a lot better than the previous one. I have '22 M3P in blue/white, and I didn't even consider the black interior because it was too plain and drab looking. The new gen, even the lower models, look a lot better with the black seats. The new performance seats in the M3P look fantastic.
As all your other previous cars we definitely think alike. Right down to the specs! I wouldn't trust myself if i had the performance 😂 so definitely LR AWD would be perfect for me also. The price with the tax rebate also makes a huge difference.
I have a 2024 M2 as well and was thinking about this exact car as my daily (currently daily an Accord) so I really appreciate the content! I'd probably go with the long range over the performance as well just to save on cost and it's plenty quick for daily driving.
The 0 to 60 time is like what the top super cars would do, back in the day. I probably would have gotten the performance, if I was like 18 lol. Now I realize that you will almost never use that power, besides the first few times fooling around, just for fun. If you are an adult and don't drive cars like a teenager for sport, the LR is WAY more than you will ever need for performance. The damn standard Model 3 is faster than anyone would ever need.
True. However, I do like the ability to take off fast from a light. The standard range can't take off all that quick but still plenty for the average person.
I'm an adult and I use that power all the time, it's a blast and never gets old for me. Don't let the adult stigma keep you from having fun, life is too short!
I own M3 Highland LR AWD. If you plan to drive on standard setting and floor it often times at the traffic light, then those tires will also wear quickly. Mine has the nova 19" wheels and i am very happy with it. I often drive on Chill mode setting which is very comfy. if i want to enjoy hard acceleration pulls i like doing it at avg speed of 70km and then floor it to get to 170km so quickly. It feels like the rest of traffic around me is in stand still and when i do that as it climbs extremely fast to 170km/h, also this doesn't wear tires as much as when starting from a complete stand still. If they come out with acceleration boost, i will definitely get it. Should be able to cut it from 4.2 to 3.6. At the moment i am waiting to see before switching to aftermarket boost update which is already available for highland and cost around 1000usd
Clocked my 2023 LR with boost at 3,45s 0-60 with rollout. Problem is that it's mainly felt under 100kmh, after that it's almost like stock. But yeah good upgrade if you like acceleration.

Yeah just wait 4 years and the M3P will also be $20k like the old ones are now. I’m kinda glad people hate EVs because more cheap ones for me lol.
true haha
No regrets for me. Those seats look great.
🤣you said you wanted to save money 💰 so you hired a new Tesla
To Save money you buy a cheap second hand petrol car 🤦🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️
I didn’t wanna buy used.. and I probably wouldn’t be happy in a cheap gas car.. it’ll probably break down and need repairs.
@ I understand but you said you want to save money so why spend so much on a new car 🤷🏻♂️
It’s a lease, I didn’t pay the car in cash. And besides, this car saves me money in other areas like gas and maintenance making the ownership cost less.
Super cheap perfect daily 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
How you afford all these cars lol

@@JVette01 Not sure why you're asked that question so often like it's a Ferrari or Lamborghini in the garage lol
Yeah this car can be leased for under 500 a month if you do a 36 month lease lol… and the M2 is expensive but not out of the realm for someone with a decent job and good money management
@@speeddemonRS3 I mean the math ain't mathing unless the guy makes 200k a year from selling cars
What if I do? 👀 you’ll never know 🤣
