Love the way you present it. Fun and informative. Thanks!
Hi from Romania Steve. Based on your video I tried Boomerang. AWESOME! I am just using the free version for now but it istruly useful and I appreciate that you featured it. THANKS!
Glad to hear it David Permenter Boomerang for Gmail is one of my absolute favorite tools!
I finally installed Boomerang for gmail and can't wait to try it out. Thanks again for another valuable, concise and entertaining video. I actually laughed out loud at your insomnia reference.
Ralph Somma Thanks Ralph, I hope boomerang works out for you!
Thanks a lot ! Cheers from France
Thanks! I did not know about this. It will be great for me 'cause like you, I am up working all hours and write emails... and worry about those silly people who sleep with their phones nearby. This will really help remove my stress about that and I can now get MORE emails sent out at 2am... and 3am... and...
You are great Steve!
LOL, it is all about appearance Kristina Krumm

Boomerang and getting to it.
A little vacation... LOL
I am looking everywhere for instructions on how to roll-over an already set up g-mail calendar. I am in a high school, teach visual communications. Repeating the same assignments, 140 days already configured. Need to repeat the yearly calendar.
THAT WAS FUNNY AND INFORMATIVE!!!!!!☺☺☺☺
Cara, ferramenta bem útil, coloca uma tradução em português, Thank !
Just watched my first video this morning. I think I may become addicted. I'm especially interested in anything Google related.
Dave Leyland Glad to have you aboard!
dottotech Same thing happening here!
I've been using Streak for a few months now and it's fantastic. I'm pleased with its features (reminders & tracking integrated) and its seamless integration in Gmail. Here's a good review, Review: Streak CRM for Gmail/Google Apps and one from your friend, Tod, How to Track Email Opens using @Streak (by @todmaffin) .
There are a lot of Boomerang apps - be sure to look for the Gmail one.
It sounds like a neat extension, but I practice Inbox Zero and would never need to boomerang anything back to me. emails are sent to my GTD app for me to deal with when I am ready and my inbox stays at zero.
sometimes I come across some amazing channels by accident, and this is one of them. Thank you for these excellent videos! I did download the Boomerang for Outlook (that's the email my office uses) but it doesn't seem to have the same features that you show in your video - the gmail version. Is that because it's only the free trial version that I'm using?
Ryan Fisher Thanks Ryan
This is an older video, so some of the features may have changed, and it is different in Outlook.
great tool! But in order for tracking to work does the recipient have to use GMail?
Nope Chris yoman any email client will work
I'll give this a shot, but fundamentally speaking -managing and prioritizing tasks from an inbox by identifying certain ones in the cue that you can make disappear and estimating when you can address them later and them not being visible until they return via boomerang is a precarious strategy for task management.
The delayed delivery feature is perfect for me though -as I tend to send out lots of emails at annoying and disrespectful times -this feature would allow my "defensive email volley to keep everyone on their heals" to go out at start of day automatically.
I will keep an open mind on the first feature and will report back.
Oh yeah, thanks for the vid Dotto!
DBoonful The delayed send is indeed a really nice option, as far as inbox management, I think it is whatever system works best for you, indeed if there is the odd time something comes up while your Boomeranged email is off in the ether and you want to see the email, it could be awkward!
have you tried active inbox? It replaced my boomerang
Sanebox is a better option in my opinion. Sorts emails and has boomerang features too. And it costs a whole lot less
I do like SaneBox Fred Fourby But is a big technology commitment, as everything needs to flow through it so you need to buy in on the whole system, not a problem, but a bigger process commitment than Boomerang for Gmail which is one piece of your own system.
+dottotech how can I get rid of this add on?
Steve - would Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL) and the express consent requirement have any bearing on the use of Boomerang? From what I've read the default setting needs to be set to opt-out and the email recipient needs to opt-in. In other words, they may need to agree to the read receipt. Your thoughts?
No ***** it is not designed for one-on-one communications, the opt in rules are for mail lists, from auto-responders, Manually generated email is not at issue I beleieve
dottotech Steve, thank you for responding and for what you do. I've been a fan since your early days of Dotto Data Cafe. Your insights into all things digital has contributed greatly to keeping me current (especially for an old guy :) )
Another goodie. Thanks Steve! The Boomerang default times are Est. Do you know how to change it to Pst?
I am not sure Judith Stephens Let's ask them! Aye Moah can you help out?
dottotech Judith Stephens The default times are your current local time that we get from the browser. To switch to pacific time, just add PDT after the time.. So for example "Tuesday 7am PDT" would work. Please note that we are currently in Daylight savings time so if you use PST/EST, it will be one hour off.
Aye Moah Thank you! My Chrome browser is on pdt. Now, thanks to this tip, I can make sure Boomerang is too. Yay! Thank you, Steve, for showing the way to this info! :)
If your browser is in PDT, Boomerang already defaults to it. You don't need to do anything special. You only need to add extra time zone info if you need to use a different time zone than your browser.
Aye Moah Permit me to be more specific. Boomerang triggers off of the time specified in the email you want to Boomerang. That meeting, webinar, or teleseminar time is usually stated in EDT terms, eg 6:00 PM. If I want to "BoomerangThis" using the "2 hours before" default, it is returned to me at 4PM (EDT), which is After the event in question. I often use the "in the morning of" option to get around this, but that is not my preference because I don't want a 8AM reminder for a 3PM event.
I don't know how to re-set the Boom time to PDT terms, which would be 3:00PM in the example above. So my question ... is there a way to reset the automatic defaults to PDT? I hope this is clearer. Thank you.
when you come up with aq plug in to sort gmail by name date and subject then call me
💪
Steve I have recently subscribed to your channel and also the news letter. I have not had time to watch them all my question I am starting a new business and I get several leads daily through Shapr they are fresh leads and I am trying to figure away to send the same intro to them all so #1 I will not have to type one Everytime and I will be consistent knowing what I sent them because when I send individual emails I tend to add or not add some information if I could plan one consistent email I would always know what exactly I sent without reading what I sent and their response so I think you may understand my question. Kudos I am all about Google a guide, beta tester ,in Google one which U know nothing about, and I just started the Files app they recommended I am sure you have looked at them or are doing so looking forward to your videos. My business is just starting out so I want join Paterons for you it will be the minimum amount until it grows. I have a you tube channel but never used it I am starting to look up your info on starting a campaign on you tube so I will be relying heavily on your videos about adds and strategically placing them as my budget is anemic at this point any pointers you could send my way I would greatly appreciate In closing I am learning so much about the Google ecosystem from you I am embarrassed at all the tools that I didn't know existed. My main devices are a pixel 3 xl and a Samsung Chromebook 3 I know it is ancient but I wanted to see if Chromebooks were adequate for my uses it in itself has a learning curve. Sorry for length of this just wanted you to know where I am where and I hope to be I see Google is probably my best and least expensive option to accomplish my goals
