Loved listening to you share! And I agree with all the things. I’m not worried about the change to the paper. I’m excited to embrace it. Thanks for sharing.
You are posting such relevant and thoughtful content!!! So happy to always see content where creators are reflecting, questioning, seeking, and sharing!
Thank you! It can be really difficult to order when companies base their model on ensuring they “sell out” first releases. I think Covid pressures made this worse for sellers and buyers alike. I know my own shopping habits are far too mindless or based on internet browsing than they ever were pre-pandemic. Anything we can do to align our shopping habits with more thoughtful reflection is a win (at least in my stressed-out life).
Love that you said it’s not about fomo! I’m skipping out on hobonichis for 2023 but I’ve still been enjoying the hauls to hear how people will be using them :)
Agree! Seriously, there is so much to love about exploring pen on paper. I can honestly say I’d be just as happy journaling on any paper, as long as I am able to have a great pen-ink-paper experience. From the start of my pen/paper/writing fetish in the mid 80s, my loves have shifted so much, depending on context.
Hi, Hobonichi friend! I hope your move went relatively stress-free, and I'm happy to see new content from you! I have time to catch up on videos today because my husband kindly offered to make dinner. We're beginning week 4 of the academic year, so things are starting to normalize into predictable patterns, but I spent an hour on a curriculum planning call this morning. Are you finished with your PhD, or have you entered the final phase?
@@scribblesandinkstains I always enjoy your videos! It’s great that you a little bit of time now. I hope you find making videos relaxing than stressful. The move was a hard one and quite emotional for me. But we are settling in, hence, I’m able to make content. I’m on the last few months of my PhD. My schedule is hectic. Planning is essential right now 😄
I'm glad I clicked on your video! Thanks to you I found a cover on cover that I like that is unfortunately not on the hobonichi website. Eric I believe is the name..? Sooo happy! Thank you for your video!! :)
Glad I could help! That cover-on-cover was a collab by Shaun Tan, based on his charming little book, Eric. You may be able to find one through a Google search. Good luck!
It's so good! It's fabric, so will be more susceptible to stains... I'll have to be very careful (even with the cover on cover) to not spill tea or coffee. 🍵🐻❄️
Beautiful haul and great approach to only really get what you need 😊 I’m always up to watching hobonichi hauls - love how endearing the brand is and all the stories behind the designs ❤
Thank you; I cut out so much footage talking about the stories behind the designs... I love seeking out the authors and illustrators and picking up the associated books, like "Eric," by Shaun Tan and "Dasenka," by Karel Capek.
@@scribblesandinkstains very cool! This year I was looking at book by designer Eri Shimatsuka - 365 Days of Little Joys I Found in Finland - but I think it’s in Japanese. Gonna search around if it’s in English!
The 365 Days design did change slightly from its debut last year. The shapes are more northern hemisphere seasonally appropriate. I have the Weeks for both years and had to get the handkerchief too! I think I’ll use it like you, to dress up a purse. I highly recommend the Uni Jetstream pen for when it’s just not practical to use a fountain pen. It’s an excellent ballpoint. I’m glad I can retire the single 2021 pen that I got, while the writing on it is still clear, and start using the brown/blue ones! But most of the time, I’m like you, give me my lovely TWSBIs and Platinums.
Thanks so much for sharing this information! So interesting! I ended up cutting footage that I wanted to include (about the illustrators and the children's literature connections with Hobonichi), because I'm trying to distill my content to our shortened attention-spans. As a brand, Hobonichi nails it on 1. storytelling, 2. design, and 3, performance. I've loved and used Uni pens since 1985, so yes to that! I don't have any Platinums (other than some cracked Preppys), so I'd love to hear your favorites.
Yes. There’s so much more that we now know about ADHD, and certainly more to be discovered about brain chemistry and stress… For any viewers, waking up at night with racing thoughts is worth exploring with your doctor, and there are some occupations where this level of stress is sadly normalized.

Thanks so much! I LOVE your video trip to Jerry’s Artarama to select a new sketchbook. And OMG a “novel sketchbook”!!! You are my tribe!
Loved watching this! Thanks so much for sharing, Mari!

I’m still waiting to finish placing my order, your comments are very welcomed food for thought.

@@scribblesandinkstains I did! Now I have to find the book and get it if I'm able. Thanks again!
Lovely purchases!
Thank you! 😊
Thanks! It’s certainly a process deciding what to purchase directly three years in to buying from the brand directly. Needs vs Wants 😘😝
Really enjoyed this unboxing! I love that polar bear cover :)

LMK if you find it!

I wake up in the middle of the night with racing thoughts! Not because i do not plan, it is because of my ADHD
