- Today I do a review of the Tissot T-Touch Expert Solar Swiss touchscreen triple-sensor watch. .
This is one of the first models of the Solar, the Solar II adds new styling and a ceramic bezel.
These models are built of titanium. The bracelet is all titanium also for models that come with it.
The knife in the intro is the Benchmade model 560BK-1 Freek.
Corrections: I Meant Tissot 1853 not 1883. Meant Casio not Seiko at one point.
Also the Alarm and Countdown timer are loud enough to hear, unlike other watch alarms.
Very very helpful. Many thanks Edgar.
on the green version, the compass ring glows, all the degree markings and the E.W.N.S markings glow as well, it is very beautiful
At my age i know what you mean about the weight, done all that. They are well made.Just a bit too sports for me.
The best details explanation I have ever seen , you coverEd most of it, fantastic
I have one of these. I had to get it warranted 4-5 time cause the screen bleeding issue it had. Now it has a dead battery but might get one in it and start wearing it again. Or sell it 😂
Great review subscribed did you do some Vostok a few years ago at all anyway keep up the good work best wishes from the uk
Thanks for the sub.,.. I never owned a Vostok to do a review, they seem to make many interesting dial designs.
@@WristwatchObsession well I can see you like quality in what you review, I would like a Tissot they do seem very good, and or a north edge gava 2 which has some of the features The amphibia Vostok is a great watch for the price, I have 3 . All the best.
I had a problem with my Tissot. Appeared a big bubble in the lcd and i had to reemplaced.
I am ver carreful with my watches so i dont know why this happened.
Highly enjoyed the review.
Just picked up the same watch, brand new, with 50% off.
Do you have the reference number for the green band, as I like that combo a lot..
no sorry, I can't find the original package the strap came in.
also this is not version II, see the label on the back of the watch where it says T91....., it is T110.... on version II, this is version I, also on version II there are no digits for the hours, just blocks, I suspect that is also why the outer ring is not glowing, and not ceramic, this watch is not version II
Hi Daniel, thanks for the great info.. I just got the watch last year from an authorized dealer and knew the first version was discontinued in 2017 so I thought it was the newest version. I did get it on clearance from a jewelry store that is not going to carry Tissot anymore.
I changed the title and notes to reflect it's not a 2.
thanks for the comments and for watching!
Very deep review. Thank you
Thank you !
had one today used at kijiji in canada .....paid 300cad !!! guess got great deal cos watch looks brand new !!!
Wow, nice find for a $1200 watch! Have fun with it, the fast moving hands never fail to amaze me.
whats the difference between the Expert Solar 1 and 2?
The Solar 1 Came out in 2014, the II in 2017. Among the changes are a Ceramic Bezel, a completely new set of color and design themes, and new PVD coatings. The internal movement appears to be the same. There could be more changes but I'm unaware of them.
Out of all the videos out there , this is the best. Awesome 👍
Thank you very much for the nice comment! I appreciate it.
@@WristwatchObsession no no, thank you. Made me understand my watch a whole lot better.
the backlight is not staying for that long in my watch...
Actual name of the Knife Please, I like it and want to buy one??
Hi.. the knife is a Benchmade model 560BK-1 Freek.
5:38 you said "Seiko", or 7:03" "Tissot" heehee. Nice video!
Thanks! I know, after watching I noticed I said a couple of things like that.. I also said 1883 even though I know it's 1853! It's the weird thing that happens to all of us who make videos.. I haven't been editing my videos lately, I don't have the time, so they are all one take....... I guess my videos include all bloopers as a bonus!
Thanks for the comment and for watching!
How wide are the lugs for the band or what width band is used? Can you take the band off and leave the pins in? Then you could easily switch out nato straps, even a leather one if you wanted to dress it up a little.
Lug width on these are 22mm. But they do not have conventional springboard. Instead, the pins are solid and has to be pushed through the drilled lug holes. Hope this makes sense.
have thermometer ???? please answer
Hi.... no thermometer on these, they replaced the thermometer location at 10 oclock of the Expert T-touch with a count down timer.
hey which citizen model is that around 7minutes?
Hi..the Citizen watch I'm wearing is the Citizen Tough. This is the black PVD coated version with black strap. There's also a stainless finish with black face and red second hand comes on a bracelet, stainless finish Green dial version with green strap. All have Sapphire crystal.
@@WristwatchObsession thanks man appreciate it

Great video!!! I own this very same model and your review is the best I have ever seen! I bought mine seven years ago and I simply love this watch also own the t-touch gen1, in stainless steel, and I agree with you about the bracelet, it's fantastic!
Thank you so much for this very detailed video. I helped seal the deal for me and I got the full titanium bracelet version. This version '2' has a ceramic bezel and it is lumed.
Your welcome, I'm glad you found it useful. Congrats on getting the upgraded full titanium one! It must be amazing with that bracelet, I wanted that one, I still may it, or get a hold of the bracelet. The bezel sounds great too, must be something to see the glow after just charging it up with the dial and bezel a glow. Thanks for watching.
Hi, may I know the model number of your full titanium bracelet version?
Thanks for the review and info... just got mine and actually everything on the bezel does glow brightly... unfortunately I can't figure out how to upload a picture of it.
Thanks for the comment and info too!
Yeah, that's weird.. of the many videos I watched and articles I read about this watch before I bought it... there was only one article that mentioned lumed bezel markings.. so when I got mine and it didn't glow I figured that one source was wrong, but now this update on yours!
Is yours the same version, Black pvd case and bezel on black rubber strap with same dial configuration as mine?
Mine is the blue face and navy band... slightly different with no numbers on the dial.
@@WristwatchObsession Perhaps it's a quirk with the PVD models?
Does it have light indicator or radium?
Hi. The hands and Arabic numerals use Super-Luminova that glows in the dark after being exposed to light. The LCD has a white backlight that stays on for a long time to read the LCD. A long push of the center button activates it.
Tissot stopped using Radium in the 70's as did the other manufacturers because of it's radiation dangers.
Thanks for the question!
Are the buttons plastic or metal?
Hi.. before I made the video I searched everywhere for the answer and couldn’t find out what the buttons where made of, however I’m almost positive they are also titanium like the rest of the watch because when I tap on them with a metal screwdriver they are distinctly metal sounding and feels like metal too.
@@WristwatchObsession Thats great, thanks for the speedy reply
@@RetroGlide08 My pleasure, and thanks for watching and commenting.
I heard the touch screen breaks, and the lcd as well. Is that true
So far no problem with mine at all, been working like a champ. I've read about 10 failures with the watch on the internet, plus there are some not reported, but so many are sold I think the rate is rather small.
@@WristwatchObsession how long have you had yours. And do you wear it in the shower? Go on hikes with it or work on your car?
@@AlanTrades I've had it a year now.. I don't wear any watches in the shower, I've read in multiple places that the heat, steam and soap is bad for the gaskets on watches and drying out the oils on automatics. That being said people do take watches in the shower, and many without problems.
I take the watch on hikes, my daily walks in rotation with other watches, day adventures to the coast. I won't wear it in salt water as it's corrosive.
Would never work on my truck with any of my watches except for a cheaper G-shock model.. too many changes to slip and whack the watch on a piece of metal and break the any watch..
Thanks for watching and the great questions.
Is there a way for lcd to light up in the dark?
Yes, a nice one too.. the numbers glow blueish white.. you can see it in the video at the 29 min 30 sec mark.
Wristwatch Obsession thank you .
What happens when the battery icon is displayed
Can't imagine a batt replacement would be cheap !!
The 3 markers are the battery level, the solar panel constantly charges the internal battery in any light.. it has yet to go below max charge so it's very good at charging and holding charge. In 20 years or so it needs a new battery they are only $15 for the lithium battery if you put it in yourself.. not sure how much to send it out.
Rubbish cannot touch Gshock or Citizen or Seiko.
Just a wast of money 💰
Great video
I've had one for about 4 years, it's been absolutely amazing
Thanks for the feedback on your watch, that's great to hear.. I love mine and wear it almost everyday. I use the chronometer, altimeter and barometer all the time.
How has the touch screen held up?
@@AlanTrades Its working flawlessly
@@tyrelfnx4528 that's awesome! What about servicing? Did the battery need to be replaced every so often?
@@AlanTrades No I've had my watch since 2014 I've never had to replace the battery. It shows battery level as full to this day! I've never serviced mine but ill do so soon just to look after it, but its been amazing honestly.
I have problem it write me baee and the time
