    Nice vid. I have just bought the same watch. Only thing that puts me off is the white NSEW. How did you remove the white paint?

    This video helped me reset/recalibrate my compass. The Tissot shop I bought from didn't know jack shit on how to fix it and they were making a fuss about sending it for servicing. Thanks for saving me time and frustration.

    For those of you who want to get the NSEW digits into black. Buy a fine tip permanent marker and color them in. I did mine and it worked out perfectly. Great finish in dark black and has been on for over a month. Even been swimming in the sea

    Great short video showing the hidden features. Temp was the main feature I would've like to have seen easily accessible. The Lum feature was used to test several torches (on post op leave and can't walk yet, idle hands and all that) and was quite accurate. Thank you for taking time to make this vid.

    Logically there will be. But I haven't found out how to access it.

    if you are looking to remove the N.W.E.S letters use a sharp blade and try to get under the letters, because on my tissot PRS200 some numbers started disappearing and after playing with the numbers and touching them I found out they are very hard inks that can not be faded away by wear and scratches but they can be peeled off completely in one piece with my nails. also Im looking to get this watch but Im looking for a version without these letters and titanium, do you know any other model?

    • @dalistylin7740
      @dalistylin7740  7 лет назад

      sweet dreams Later, I ended up using black acrylic paint to color over the white lettering since it doesn't wear off easily, but removable with alcohol or ammonium solution if I need to in the future. There are some other models of the Tissot Solar Expert without the NESW lettering, but instead 12, 3, 6, and 9 hour markers (equally useless), but I prefer the style of this model (in terms of dial and hour markers).

      As stated above. Without damaging the watch I just used a fine tip black permanent marker and colored the digits in. I waited for it to dry and applied a few coats. Works a charm and looks good.

    Hello ! You can change the "meteo" readings hPa in mm Hg?

    • @dalistylin7740
      @dalistylin7740  8 лет назад +1

      Unfortunately, you cannot change the units. It only displays in hPa, which is considered the international standard for measuring atmospheric pressure. I am having to get used to this since in the US, inHg is most often reported.

    • @sonelectronique
      @sonelectronique 8 лет назад

      Thank you . another question. Why is there a thermometer in the service mode. usually it is impossible to use. it would not be bad to have "termo" normally mode.

    • @dalistylin7740
      @dalistylin7740  8 лет назад +1

      I have no idea why Tissot decided to hide this feature. I think it's useful, even if it may be inaccurate on the wrist. It is not practical to access this feature in day-to-day use. It is puzzling that they removed the "thermo" mode and added a useless non-rotating bezel with compass markings. Despite these flaws, I do like the watch.

    Hello , what is the autonomy battery life of the watch , if you play daily with ?

    • @dalistylin7740
      @dalistylin7740  8 лет назад +4

      It's solar powered so battery life is not a problem. The battery is rated at 1 year without any charging. I've used it quite heavily and the battery had always been at full charge.

    I wish they would DELETE the Altimeter, and add the TIDE function to the Expert Solar! THEN it would be a perfect watch for boaters, surfers, kayakers, Navy, divers, sailers... Who needs and altimeter on their watch??

    • @dalistylin7740
      @dalistylin7740  7 лет назад +1

      Machria23 I personally prefer the altimeter function. The tide function is available on the Tissot T-race watch, but it lacks some other features of this model.

    • @equaliser2265
      @equaliser2265 7 лет назад

      Get a tide app or look it up for the day in question. Tide times on vary by minutes per day it's not essential.

    • @rockymntdan1
      @rockymntdan1 5 лет назад

      totally agree; say a person who used to live at 10K. So silly to have an alt. function if you're still on the GROUND! We could always tell how high by how hard our heads were pounding when we hiked LOL. And so you know exactly down to the foot how high you are, what exactly does that give you? If you can't read a topo map in the daytime and look around, go home....

    • @MrGatoSerra
      @MrGatoSerra 4 года назад

      @@rockymntdan1 Fortunately not everybody is always on the ground! The altimeter function is useful for pilots, and would be more useful if we could adjust the absolute pressure.

    Great hints and nice review. I love the way you have darkened your bezel's NESW markers too. What have you used to achieve that result ?

    • @dalistylin7740
      @dalistylin7740  8 лет назад +1

      Thank you. I used a black wax pencil, or "China marker" to fill in the compass markers. It is not permanent, though. The compass markings on a non-rotateable bezel seem totally useless to me, unless I am missing something. That would be my primary criticism of this model. Otherwise, it is a fantastic watch.

    • @nemosandman
      @nemosandman 8 лет назад +1

      +dalistylin I've done the same but it was wearing off after a while.
      After adding a layer ever two weeks I have wiped all with acetone and it is back as new...
      Fantastic watch, yes!
      Very sturdy.
      And the electro luminescent screen is really useful for setting functions on the dark.
      I have written some reviews on watchuseek about it.
      But your video is a great tutorial!
      Way to go!

    Do you have any idea about calibrating the barometer? My watch reads 3-4 Hpa above the actual pressure.

    • @dalistylin7740
      @dalistylin7740  7 лет назад

      There is no way to calibrate the barometer that I'm aware. You can adjust it, but then your altitude reading will get thrown off accordingly. It would be nice to be able to adjust the absolute pressure. Mine reads 2 hPa above actual.

    • @equaliser2265
      @equaliser2265 7 лет назад

      The difference doesn't matter, only that you can see a big and rapid raising or drop in the preassure on the minute hand is all you need.

    • @SmoothFlyer1
      @SmoothFlyer1 7 лет назад

      How can you say that the difference doesn't matter? Tissot is a Swiss manufacturer and one would expect precision from such. It matters when you have set the barometer settings from the local weather forecast to get an accurate altimeter reading. In any case, not worth arguing about. Matters to some and not to others. BTW the iPhone's barometer is more accurate.

    • @MrGatoSerra
      @MrGatoSerra 4 года назад

      @@dalistylin7740 Have you found a way to calibrate the barometer? I could find a reading in service mode which seems to indicate the pressure in bar, but could not change it.

    • @dalistylin7740

      Same here. Wish they made the feature readily available. It could only help sales by advertising more features. Not sure why Tissot removed this.

    • @sweetdreams1DIAM0ND
      @sweetdreams1DIAM0ND 7 лет назад +1

      after seeing the temp change with your hand touching the back its good they didnt add this feature because it would mix the outside temp with your body temp and give you something not accurate and useless.

    • @dalistylin7740
      @dalistylin7740  7 лет назад

      sweet dreams I think it would still have been useful if Tissot made the temperature reading readily accessible. The quick responsiveness of the thermometer indicates it could give an accurate temp reading after a few minutes if removed from the wrist. They could have incorporated a simple corrective measure to compensate (semi-accurately) for temp reading while worn (though not ideal, other watch companies like Timex have offered this as an option when using the temp function).

    • @dalistylin7740
      @dalistylin7740  8 лет назад +1

      I agree that the compass markings are useless. I've read every page of the manual and my conclusion is that it serves no purpose other than cosmetic. If the bezel was rotatable, the markings could be justified, but it is not. It's too bad because I think the markings "cheapen" an otherwise excellent watch.
