Excellent clarity, thank you. I changed my battery, but faced a complete blank until I read a comment about the thin plastic disc with a slot cut in it. This should remain on the base of the battery compartment, but can easily be accidentally removed with the old battery to which it can stick. Replacing this resulted in "life" but with the "batt" sign flashing. Removing and replacing the same battery resulted in complete success. A rather contrary watch but when it works it is great. The advice not to touch the "hole" must be followed. I thought gentle cleaning would be a good idea, the first time I changed the battery. Result £75 bill to repair. Leave it alone even if it looks really dirty!
Thank you very much for posting this video my friend!! Even if you did touch the battery, its still a really great video to help people like me, that restores Tissot watches to make them look like new again after polishing all the scratches out so, i personally would like to thank you VERY MUCH for showing people how to do this without it costing them an absolute fortune by sending it to Tissot. So. THANK YOU!!!!!!!
Great video, thank you for your efforts, worked perfectly for me....but 2 bits of CRUCIAL advice for anyone following this and changing their own battery. (1) DO NOT TOUCH that blob thing on the inner backplate, and (2) YOU MUST replace the battery transparent seal that is underneath the original battery - replace it exactly in the position it came out. If you're lucky it may not come out when you remove the battery anyway.
The little plastic foil under the battery is key and easily lost, especially if you don't know about it. I have seen several official retailers in Switzerland who failed. Solution if it's gone: cover the new batteries bottom with a thin translucent adhesive for insulation, cut away what hangs over the round shape of the battery. Then using a precision cutter cut out a hole in the middle of the tape covering the bottom of the battery for the contact of the watch. Reassemble, done.
This watch is so effing fragile. I had the original T-Touch and when I went to an authorized service center for battery replacement, technician said it's broken. Since it was still under warranty, it was replaced by at T-Touch II though I had to shoulder the handling fee. After the replacement, never had the chance to use it as I've got other watches and lo and behold - when battery's out and need to be replaced again, technician said movement's broken again. This time I contacted Tissot and they were hesitant in repairing it after a few emails but they eventually had it fixed there in Switzerland. As I've lost confidence in the built reliability, tried selling it at half the original price but it was not sold.....a trader told me that many watch enthusiasts are aware of the problem that's why it's hard to sell it. I'm selling all my Tissots because of this.
be extra carefull when removing the battery the is a clear insullation on the negative side and sometimes sticks to the battery. dont throw it away or your battery will sort circuit.
Thank you very much for sharing. But, we have to be very carefull taken out the old battery, don´t remove also the thin and transparent isolation piece. If you remove also that isolation film the new battery will be shorted!!!
Modular pressure sensor...Nice!..That means it must be replaceable...1st and 2nd gen T Touches had the sensor built into the movement, so altimeter, baro and temp functions became useless when the sensor fails...You had to just buy a new movement...may as well buy a new watch. You should show the viewers of this video how to sync the hands...Otherwise they are off after a battery change.
Con el internet ahora todos a cambiar pilas , asi mas trabajo para el relojero . Vaya aficionado manipulando lo que no sabe xD!! Zapatero a tus Zapatos !
There is a clear plastic insulator with a slot in on the underside of the battery & on my watch it had to be peeled off the old battery & placed in battery recess with the contact exposed through the slot before inserting the new battery.
You touched the battery with your bare fingers! You now have oils and residue all over the top of the battery. You will expect poor battery life and quite possibly corrosion due to you touching it. Always use plastic tweezers and NEVER touch the battery with your bare fingers.
Hello, i have this watch that my late father used to own. i think the battery is dead and I want to repair it myself and get it running. Do you think i could do this by myself or should i bring this to a watch shop? i do have a little experience in small smartphone repair (screens, battery, etc). What would be the best for me to do? thanks!
I changed my own battery on my t-touch expert a few years back, a few of the functions were not working afterwards, I made do without them, battery only lasted 9 months, I reluctant sent it back to tissot for a £65 battery change, ended up costing me £170 for a full service 🙄, 3 years on the battery needs replacing, no messing this time, its being done by tissot!
Hello! Thanks for the great video! I did what you show to replace my t touch II watch. but after I replaced the battery, the watch is not going on! The display remains off when I press the button. I tried one other battery, still dead! What could go wrong?? Thanks
hi you must earth the batt to frame of watch by touching both at same time with tweezers its a sneaky tissot trick that they will not tell you so you have to pay 70 quid to just have it done by them just touch the batt to the frame and it will turn on
The hands aren't functioning correctly near the end when you press the touch screen. They should point towards the function you press and in compass mode the hands should form a straight line.
Hello. in 0:55 this video you can see the recess on the cover. I accidently destroyed the membrane (I belive it's pressure detector) when I tried to clean it. Can you tell me what it was? May be part name or number... Is it possible to order and replace it? Thank you!
Actually I can't tell you the part#, but in fact that's the multi sensor for temperature, pressure etc. It is covered with a kind of grease or jelly to protect it from water. You know it now, but if anybody reads these lines: DO NOT TOUCH THIS SENSOR! UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES - DO ***NOT*** TOUCH IT! It needs no cleaning or maintenance. Touching/cleaning it will destroy it.
DONT FOLLOW THIS VIDEO if You Care about your $$$ Tissot. That is incorrect. what you are left with is the hands do not correlate with the functions, example if you select Compass the hands should face North and South, but yours does not. Nice detail on cleaning the gasket though.

corollag6wrc you’re completely right, the first generation doesn’t have screws. My problem is, that I can’t get out 2 of 4 screws. Maybe I have to give up :-(
@@MultiCopterFilmsde A couple of my screws were very soft and started to scrape off, just had to get just the right size screwdriver and put enough pressure down (pinning down the other side of the watch to keep it steady) and get it started like that.

Ne jamais manipuler une batterie avec une pince brucelle métallique au risque de détériorer un circuit interne...
