- Jennifer Connelly : Best Supporting Actress (A Beautiful Mind) - Helen Mirren : Best Actress ( The Queen ) - Maggie Smith : Best Actress (The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie) & Best Supporting Actress (California Suite) - Marisa Tomei : Best Supporting Actress (My Cousin Vinny) - Kate Winslet : Best Actress (The Reader)
No, eventhough it was a hard role but it lacks lot of acting scene while on screen bcoz of showing four act , that's why, it bcam insufficient through our minds or the Oscar expert....
It certainly made me a lot more understanding of schizophrenia. I'm glad it did because I now have a friend who is schizophrenic and I show him all the support I can.
I saw it a few times in the cinema because I was very impressed with it. Even though it was a very sad story, the acting, writing and directing were all top notch.
Like Alicia Vikander this year, another well deserved Oscar for supporting role but an acting fraud: Jennifer Connelly should have been nominated (and awarded) in the leading category, just like Reese Witherpoon for Walk the Line (which won) and Felicity Jones for The Theory of Everything.
The studio obviously was not going to push Connelly for lead. Look at the women nominated in lead that year, she didn’t have the star power and would’ve lost for sure if she had even gotten nominated.
It must be stressful even for people like them, exposed to the public view on a regular basis. I acknowledge her as a great actress, indeed. But, c’mon, the whole acceptance speech read staring at the sheet of paper she prepared…Quite odd for my own taste.
I think both helen mirren and maggie smith were amazing in gosford park. My personal pick would've been emily watson who was also great in gosford park and was snubbed of a nomination.
@@A.A_xv I agree. I have always thought that Robert Altman could have cast his life long friend Julie Christie in the Helen Mirren role/part and she would have been even better than Mirren, has even more intensity, albeit Christie would have to have made herself less gorgeous for the part
All of them have Oscars today!
YEAH YOU ARE RIGHT!!
- Jennifer Connelly : Best Supporting Actress (A Beautiful Mind)
- Helen Mirren : Best Actress ( The Queen )
- Maggie Smith : Best Actress (The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie) & Best Supporting Actress (California Suite)
- Marisa Tomei : Best Supporting Actress (My Cousin Vinny)
- Kate Winslet : Best Actress (The Reader)
Winning when pitched against performers of this calibre!
I love all the nominees! They are very brave and interesting actors!
All nominees here are OSCAR winners now!
She should have won Academy award for Requiem for a dream.
RIGHT???
True
No, eventhough it was a hard role but it lacks lot of acting scene while on screen bcoz of showing four act , that's why, it bcam insufficient through our minds or the Oscar expert....
Everyone in that movie should have. That's a movie that still haunts my dreams to this day.

There's a reason it's called "supporting" actress.
A Beautiful Mind is a great movie.
The greatest!
Eh.
It certainly made me a lot more understanding of schizophrenia. I'm glad it did because I now have a friend who is schizophrenic and I show him all the support I can.
Benicio was a gentleman when he held the Oscar for Jennifer when She delivered her speech.
I agree. He seems like a really good guy. His little girl is very blessed. 👍🙏❤️🙏
In the Bedroom was brilliant on so many levels, one of my favorite movies
I saw it a few times in the cinema because I was very impressed with it. Even though it was a very sad story, the acting, writing and directing were all top notch.
@@mikebasil4832 Yes Mike, it was an excellent film and the acting was magnificent!!
God is Love. My angel...
God is God. Love is a different thing.
Once upon a time in America……….her first role in a great movie.
Como así , que ya tiene al menos un Oscar. Saludos de un admirador desde Colombia.
Abrazos de una paisana.
R.I.P., Maggie. 💚
I am happy for Jennifer Connelly she deserved it! She was in Labyrinth with David Bowie and she was only 15!
What about OUATIA?With one Sergio Leone? She was 14.
En esa peli se lo merecía el.gran david bowie
She didnt look up once. Awh so cute lol
Blood diamond Maddy is surely above oscar or any nomination .. class in itself...
*Marisa Tomei was the best - by far!*
Do you have clips of the 2002 Best Actress lineup? I’d like to see what scenes were shown for the 5 nominees at this ceremony
She was much better in “Requiem for a Dream”
Marisa Tomei or Maggie a Smith or Hellen Mirren made a great performance
Gave great performances.
Yup💯💯💯
1. Dame Helen Mirren
2. Marisa Tomei
3. Kate Winslet
4. Jennifer Connelly
5. Dame Maggie Smith
This is why it isn't a career best award...
Incredible in Top Gun
Year?
2002

except Witherspoon did win for lead so....
good point. her role isn't a supporting one. she's the lead actress.
both her and vikander were amongst the most overrated performances in the history of the award
ALE280290 Witherspoon wasn’t even lead in walk the line. The true winner that year was felicity Huffman.
The studio obviously was not going to push Connelly for lead. Look at the women nominated in lead that year, she didn’t have the star power and would’ve lost for sure if she had even gotten nominated.
Universal Pictures
DreamWorks Pictures
Imagine Entertainment
A Beautiful Mind
Winner of 4 Academy Awards
well i just looked at the title and uummm XD XD XD XD XD
Se lo merecía Maggie smith, esta tipa no le llega a los talones
100%
That dress wow , she brought fashion truly to a fashion ...
Her dress was awful.
Jaja era horrible el vestido ni le lucia
Then she left it there and picked this dress out.
Whoopi Goldberg. Alimony. Gifted woman. Jennifer Carlo. A beautiful model. In the Bathroom. Jennifer Connelly.......
Hunky Benicio.
All 5 ladies have Oscars
Jennifer was good, but I would have gone with Marissa. In the Bedroom was a great movie.
Maggie Smith should have a won.
Kate Winslet
I didn’t think she was that great in this. Id’ve voted for Maggie Smith.
Many English.
Can you do this in that year's Best Actress category???
I'd tried uploading it, but they blocked it... sorry
Could have picked a better dress......
It must be stressful even for people like them, exposed to the public view on a regular basis. I acknowledge her as a great actress, indeed. But, c’mon, the whole acceptance speech read staring at the sheet of paper she prepared…Quite odd for my own taste.
alimony, a wonder bra & winning a best supporting actress Oscar, as we've ALL'vei come 2 b readily AWARE, Benicio, r NOT mutually exclusive!!
what a robbery. Smith was deserving, hands down.
I think both helen mirren and maggie smith were amazing in gosford park. My personal pick would've been emily watson who was also great in gosford park and was snubbed of a nomination.

Tall cuallll amo a esa actriz
Whoopi Goldberg should have received the Oscar for best birdy outfit.
omg was hat Whoopi da nur an! echt fürchterlich!
Schon mal "Moulin Rouge" mit Nicole Kidman gesehen? Dann wissen Sie, was Frau Goldberg da trägt
Oscar für die beste Vogeltarnung.
Back when Goldberg wasn’t a total joke and SJW trainwreck.
