Hagar had an interview where he talked about this song after it came out. He compared it to guys who always want the super pretty hot girl, fancy clothes, makeup, hair, all that. He said it was like buying a crepes Suzette for dessert. Once you get past all the fancy stuff, all you've got is a bunch of pancakes. What guys should be going for is good old poundcake, simple, delicious, filling, homegrown and down home never gets old.

" I listen but can't help to get lost into it" ... that's called innovation. This guy writing and performing was always ahead of the pack. 78' debut, no one ever heard of a guitarist like him. 82-91' in spite of the thousand guitar players trying to "one up" him, he only put out 4 albums in that timeframe and brought everyone back to reality. Eddie always stayed ahead of anything in that moment. He literally took everyone's popularity away when he dropped a new song/album. Michael Jackson was the king of pop, Madonna was was the queen of pop, Elvis was the king of his genre, the Beatles were the king of theirs ... Ed was the King of guitars and when he was on... NO ONE touched him. That's innovation.

This song is as good as Van Hagar ever got. And this album sounds amazing - they went and hired Glyn Johns to engineer this record - Google THAT guy's resume sometime - and reunited with producer Ted Templeman. What you're hearing is Eddie premiering his newly designed signature guitar AND amplifier, Alex recording on acoustic drums for the first time in a decade, and some seriously great engineering and production.

If you would have watched the video of this song you would have seen Eddie using a power drill on the strings of his guitar to get that sound at the very beginning of the song. Eddie was an amazing creative guitar God above anyone else.

BJ loves drummers so do some videos of Rush, that’s only three dudes, and they were on a mission because the label wanted them commercial, they stuck to their guns, and I’ll watch your face as you hear Neil. Man got a PhD in percussion!

Van Halen does a great live performance of their 2 songs, You Really Got Me / Cabo Wabo and worthy of doing a reaction to.

For a step different, I don't know if you're familiar with it, but check out 'Dreams'. It's also a promotional video for the US Navy Blue Angels precision flying crew.
