The end of part one is all REN brother.
Just saying: in 1 the "voice of the woman" is actually ren 😂❤
Cool!
Yea part 1 was made when he was signed with Sony, then he got sick, Sony dropped him, and years later Ren requested that they release his music so he could put out the album hisself and they granted his wishes, then he finished the album with additional tracks like part 2
You're exactly right. He's been the same from the beginning, but he has refined his craft, whether it's singing or rapping. He just keeps getting better and better!
Hearing these early ones by Ren is tearing me to pieces. Praying he'll be able to continue making music and fulfill his early visions. Damn, I love this guy.
He'll bounce back!
So good to hear early ren, and yes the vision is beautiful, but sad ,he had to turn down Glastonbury because of his health. But onwards and upwards ren, next time, 💙
I remember Ren saying that as he got older and more experienced he learned how not to drown tbe song in speed rap but sprinkle in the speed for emphasis. Maturity also impacts everything. Moving from #1and #2 to #4 ...that's a number of years. #4 is my favorite. I think #3 is his and most others.
I think there are 21 James Bond references in there.
Thanks for filling me in, Frances!

❤❤❤❤❤
Not sure how many people were at Secret Garden Party but it seems from the footage I've seen there was a pretty big crowd. People flew from other countries just to see Ren perform. Wish I could've gone but I can't afford a trip from the States to the UK.
I got my first passport and took my first ever trip out of the US and flew to the UK (solo at age 54). Best decision ever. Ren, Romain, and Chinchilla (and others) were everything I had hoped they would be. I felt very blessed that I was able to afford this trip. I saw a comment on a video about me saying rich girl entitlement. I laughed my ass off because I had never traveled anywhere until this last year. Took my first ever adult trip to Las Vegas, and the second trip as an adult to the UK. Definitely not a rich girl. Ex addict who is finally getting her life together since 2010 when I got clean.
@@MoreKellBellPlease that's amazing! I am jealous you got to go but also super happy you were able to! And super proud of you getting clean and sober. 🔥🔥🔥💙💙💙💥💥💥
Hey Izzy, Agree the progression is cool to see from 1 to 2, but how funny is part 2. Trippy like a sip from a rancid coconut.
It is, they get funnier too!
Great video as always, Thanks Izzy....... (You have talent so chase your dreams, live life with no regrets)
Thanks, Barzo! I appreciate the support! Gonna spend a little time getting my life together and by the time the winter thaws I should be in a position to go for it. Love to ya, my friend!
I think part 2 is my favorite, that james bond scheme gets me every time 😂💜
Part 3 is my favourite
I love 2 and 3 the most and 4 is raunchy 😂😂. Looking forward to your music 👏🏻. Thanks Izzy ❤
Thanks, Sandra! I appreciate the support. By the time the Spring arrives I should be in a position to start putting stuff out. Love to ya!
My question to you is, how long will you put your music on hold, whilst you wait for the right time? When will you have enough financial security? How much does that entail? There will always be something to stand between you and your music. Don't let life stop you from making your dreams. If you want to make music, make it anyway.
If Ren has taught you Anything, it is that you just get out there and Do it, regardless your situation. Make music on a shoestring, play for anyone and everyone. Share it and opportunities will ensue.
I get it, I am not musical, but I am an artist. I am older and have only this year begun to appreciate I am an artist. Prior to that, I 'drew,' or I 'painted.' Now, I am willing to say, I am an artist. I may not have sold many works, (all too few), but I will try to never again put off my art, because of ..... or because ..... They are all reasons you convince yourself not to do it. Instead, just do it. I recognise now, that I have spent a lifetime self sabotaging my art. No longer. I would hate for you to do the same thing with your music.
I know what you're getting at, but that isn't where I am right now. I spent a number of years in that space, so I do understand it. Even starting this channel is steps towards creating the time and space to be able to express myself creatively. I could spend my spare time right now making music, but currently all of my spare time is used to run this channel. And it's not really about enough financial security, it's about some financial security. With all that said, I appreciate your support and for calling me out, as I could have needed it. I have some plans in place and I believe by the time the Spring arrives I will be able to create the time and space to give the creative side of things the time it requires and deserves. Love to ya!
❤
I think Ren's music highlights how the record industry think they know best and force feed the world what they think is good, I think all of Ren's stuff before Hi Ren, was out there for years, but I never heard of him. Hi Ren was the lid on the music, once the lid was released all this great music flowed freely. Both these songs are so listenable and full of talent and good ideas. Ren makes a mockery of record industries and you tube algorithms..he should have blown up along time ago!
Another awesome review. Glad you went back to these.
Thanks, Kevin!
Great to see you react to these tracks. As you rightly say you can see the progression that he’s made. I love the James Bond scheme in part 2. The cheeky humour just makes my heart smile. 😊
I really hope you are able to start creating your music on a more regular basis. I’ll check out your available music. 👍 All power to you Izzy. 🎸🎼🎤
Thanks, Vicky! I appreciate the support! I've pencilled in the rest of this year as time to build life foundations and I think by the time the Spring rolls around I should be in a good position to be more creative. Love to ya!
Freckled Angels includes stuff from 2009 on
Just what I needed to energize my morning . . . got some heavy outdoor work today, and replaying this in my head will keep me from bogging-down. I think "Love Music 2" is my favorite. Thanks for your comments about Ren's musical journey.
Thanks, Bonnie! Hope you had a great day!
Very appropriate that you let us know about your music journey in the Love Music reaction❤🎶🎸Hope you get where you want soon!
Thanks, Gina! When the spring rolls around I think I'll be able to attack it with the appropriate dedication! I appreciate your support! Love to ya!
Here for your new journey! Ren is truly inspirational.
Thanks, Bob!
Of the 4 these two are my favorite with 1 taking the cake. It’s not that th later ones aren’t good but the first two just have very positive sounds and messages that I find very uplifting where the latter two are more comical and just fun to listen to. There are some incredible tracks on freckled angels like Fire, streetlights, runaway 1990s…. I think you’ll really appreciate these ones!
Love all these, my favorite out of the four is "Streetlights". ❤
Great reaction ❤
Thanks, Kathleen!
I think he has progressed through sheer practice and I think he gives the songs more space to breathe, strips back at times where in the past he would of filled.
Izzy, another great reaction! Glad you're making music. Writing is just as much a part of making music as recording and producing the final product.
I hope to hear more about your process and can't wait to hear the results.
Thanks, David! I appreciate your support! Love to ya, my friend!
I ❤ Ren music 🎵🎶😂❤
Always enjoy your reactions! Big MIGHTY BOOSH fan here. I'm assuming you've also seen GARTH MARENGHI'S DARK PLACE, with many of the same cast. (The best worst show that never existed.) That one is my all time favorite.
Thanks, Yonah! I've not seen all of it. But I liked what I saw.
The Freckled Angels album contains some tracks that were recorded when he was signed with Sony. They gave him the tracks back to use for himself. I'm pretty sure Fire is from those recordings. The other songs stretch from even earlier to just before he released the album.
I don't know when Part 1 was recorded for this album (or any of the tracks, except suspecting certain ones are from Sony), but I don't think it was the Sony recordings. That being said, there is an earlier version of Part 1 on the Trick the Fox channel. So, the song itself comes from before Sony.
I think this simple melody is very fit to the theme of loving music, any music, especially when you see how knowledgeable of music Ren is. I love part 2 the most, maybe 3 and 4 are too cheeky for a religious older mum I am 😂
Deffo progression between part 1 and 2 it's very clear like you said. So parts 3 and 4 in the next video?
Another great reaction dude!!
They'll be coming soon, in separate reactions. Thanks, Malcolm!
The first song is fun and wholesome, the second one is more fun and cheekier lol. Seems like the objective was fun in each one, nothing to prove really, and I love it. I can't wait to see what you do Izzy. Can't do much about the past, but you can do a lot about the future. ❤ *Might need to tattoo a permanent reminder on my arm so I see it everyday.
We’d love to see video of your promised live shows Iz
Really enjoy the progression shown in these songs but wait till you get to Part 4 - it’s so…er…different 😂. I prefer Part 3 personally. They’re all very playful which is still there in his work today.
Thanks for your reaction particularly for the honesty about your own creativity. ❤
Thanks, Jinxy!
6:57 I think that's actually Ren.
I think, you're right!
Ren's progression is great to follow. The styles and rhymes he has in these two are already present in one of the earliest video he made called Ren - 1990s (live recording) I actually refer to this song as "Scr*w you - Calvin Harris." It is well worth watching this very young Ren sitting cross-legged on a door step with his acoustic guitar.. just doing his thing. link here; ruclips.net/video/bmOpvdJpIOQ/видео.htmlsi=_ZnxC6rX3wLDKG1k Nice reaction once again. kia kaha from NZ
Thanks! I'll check it out!
No idea if that was a female vocal in the background of Part 1, then you asked if it was Ren and I've come to the conclusion that if you ask if anything was Ren's doing the answer is usually yes lol
I think he hit a higher note at the end of Baggage, so it probably was him. He’s also pitched things upward in the past, when needed.
I think he always lists in the song credits anyone he colabs with. ‘Cos he’s good & honest like that.
I agree 😂 I've found that statement to always be true 😂💜
I have been thinking that vocal in LM2 is VERY similar to Ren's gorgeous wail at the end of Baggage 🤔
I meant LM1
We DO want inconsistentcy! Implement your vision! Let us hear your progression please! The world is not enough!
Thanks, Jason! I'll think about this and see what I can do in the meantime. I appreciate your support, my friend! Love to ya!
