      In fairness she has always said this and has also been outspoken of issues like critical race theory. She wasn’t in a decent cabinet position over the 14 years of Tory failure. Maybe if she gets to be PM she will make a difference rather than having to follow the whip. Can’t see them getting back in power for a long long time though. Reform seems to be a more useful Conservative Party at the moment.

      No she didn't, you are putting words in her mouth because you claim to like western values but you don't like journalists asking tough questions - one of the most important tenets of an open western democracy. Laura Kuenssberg is a respected BBC journalist that is accused by both the left and right of working for the other side; a sure sign she's holding both to account.

    • @justhecuke
      @justhecuke 45 минут назад +1

      @@PJH13uh, a person who is universally criticized isn't necessarily doing a good job. Indeed, it's actually a good indicator that they are doing a bad job.
      Also, this journalist didn't ask good questions. They were clearly intended to be attacks, and missed out on asking about pros/cons, getting context for the beliefs, asking if there were ever situations where this might not be the best thing to do.
      There were very many better ways to have conducted the interview. I criticize her not for bias, but for doing an objectively poor job at journalism.
      We didn't get much information out of the interviewee. Most of the interview was just getting the lady to restate things she had already said, but in different manners. Questions of the "are you sure" kind are usually a sign of incompetence, especially when they are repeated with the clear intent to fish for a change in answer, rather than accepting what you were told and moving on as a good interviewer should do.

    • @PJH13
      @PJH13 37 минут назад

      @@justhecuke I agree, it doesn't necessarily mean that they're good but it does generally disprove that they are a biased shill as she's been accused of being by many here.
      I'd also disagree that she didn't get information from Kemi - the original statement was very open-ended, it could be reasonable or it could be awful, but it needed clarifying. The interviewer got her to do that. Also bear in mind this is not the full interview; it's Dave Rubin's edited version

    • @justhecuke
      @justhecuke 25 минут назад

      @@PJH13 you can be biased and be criticized by everyone... There's nothing about being biased that means people won't criticize you for it, even by "their" side, especially if "their" side is particularly activist since not being 100% for something is commonly seen as being biased.
      Personally, I saw bias and incompetence in this interview. The body language, tone, and progression of questions were all bad. When your questions have an unstated premise of "you are incorrect", it's not a good interview.
      The bias came from the questions as she was clearly laying a racism/nationalism trap by asking for specific cultures that were bad. Once you give a specific example, then discussion ceases and all that will happen is accusations of discrimination, bigotry, hatred, etc. I've seen this strategy a hundred times, so her bad faith was on blatant display for me.
      Because of human psychology, one of the best ways to get people to talk is to encourage them to continue, repeat some of what they told you, then ask for more details. You'll notice that this is what the deep, insightful interviews are like where interviewers really dig into how the other person thinks, why they think it, and what might change their mind.

    All she's talking about is assimilation. That used to be the basic standard requirement for immigration. The belief that if you want to become a citizen of another country, you will adopt that countries customs and standards and become part of that countries culture and society. When did assimilation become a bad thing?

    I was just going to type, "She doesn't believe in cultural relativism," and then she said it! Seriously, there are countries in Africa right now that market slaves. Are they allowed just because they are third world or African? The double standard makes no sense. And in the UK in particular grooming gangs are a big problem, and the news will say--if anything at all, "of Asian descent" or, "Asian ethnicity," carefully avoiding having to repeat over and over again, "Pakistani." I saw a sign once that said, "Don't be so open minded that your brains roll out of your head."

    So many foreigners, genuine immigrants from bad countries have come here to integrate, work hard, contribute to society and have a better life, our government is letting them down as well, it's tragic, it makes me feel ashamed of my country and I feel bad for these people, I guess I must be "far right". It's the same for mahyer tousi from Iran.

    Kuenssberg Is trying to trip up Kemi with semantics rather than accepting what she is saying! Basically all those who enter into the UK should be prepared to adjust their way of life to that of the UK's norm! IE speak the language, dress in a similar manner to the UK, & very importantly adopt our laws and abide by them! This is not a down on any religion just common sense if they are to be accepted into our society as equals!

    She should have told the interviewer: Let's make a deal: I will decide where you will live, and you will go there and live permanently. Are you willing to make this deal, since you seem to think all cultures are equally valid?
