I'm just watching this to see how to open mine. Mine is the HP-AC-179TX model. Literally the same but just a different model number. I'm going to upgrade/replace my HDD with a 240GB SSD for faster performance. This helped a lot! Thank you so much!
@@edwardvandermerwe9878 I just now installed wind10 on my old HP notebook. I installed a 120GB SSD. Windows space is 33GB. I have 86GB free and for what I need they are more than enough. It depends on the type of use one makes of one's PC
Clint, thanks for this amazing video! I've never dismantled a laptop before and didn't know where to start on my HP 15-ba077sa. Looks identical and with your help the whole thing was a breeze.
Good and helpful video but next time take your cap off : it protrudes in the field of view of the camera and prevents it to focus properly. Otherwise your video is informative.
damn one of my scrap laptops i bought is working besides needing storage and guess what the repair shop took along with the storage... the sata interposer
@@Mercedeslover69 possibly. This video was from a long time ago. So it could have been one of the antennas for WiFi or Bluetooth, or for the built in camera.
My battery no longer charges after this tear down and reassemble. Does somebody know what part of the assembly is the connection for battery power? It says 0% and does not charge at all. The battery seems to be well connected. It charged perfectly before this, so I think something internally is not connected properly. If somebody can point to a specific time in the video where that necessary disconnection is is made so I know which cable to look at, that will be helpful.
Taking it apart is all fine and well. It's putting it back together and running again -- that's the hard part. Getting that keyboard connector to sync correctly was a b*tch.
We liked this video and subscribed, we have the same laptop, the problem that we are facing is that the laptop is switching off suddenly on its own as it is heating up, and when ever the power chord is plugged to the mains, the laptop is switching off immediately without even waiting for heating up. Can you please suggest what may be the problem in there..?
There are several possibilities at play. The charger could be giving more output than it was intended to, or there could be an issue with the motherboard, battery, or charger input. If possible I would start by testing with another charging adapter to see if the issue is resolved. I go from cheaper and easier options to more expensive and complex.
I think it is fairly well constructed. It definitely isn't a processing powerhouse, but is sufficient for general daily use. I forget what the benchmark was, but it was neither terrible or spectacular. The display was respectable, no complaints there. I like that there are two RAM slots, and if you wanted to add a second hard drive you can always get a conversion caddy. rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53200-19255-0/1?icep_id=114&ipn=icep&toolid=20004&campid=5337985381&mpre=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fitm%2F9-5mm-Universal-SATA-2nd-HDD-Caddy-SSD-Hard-Drive-Panel-for-DVD-ROM-Optical-Bay-%2F301737504402%3Fhash%3Ditem4640f4ee92%3Ag%3AP0gAAOSwu4BV1Uad
Yeah. The larger display is better for reading than on an 11 or 13 inch. Your only limitations on video are going to be either internet speeds or intense graphics on gaming. For the price of this one I think you could definitely do worse. It'll be a bit slower to do things like boot and update, but web browsing, video, and standard documents it'll do the job.

Oh yes pal, I own the hp-ac125nv model and despite the i7 Core CPU is incredibly SLOW ... The cause must have been this wretched 1 Tbyte Hard Disc they put in it. So I am gonna change that crap with a 500GB SSD and upgrade the RAM to 16GB. Thanks to this cool video (except for that wretched hat...haha) !

I'd honestly recommend going with a 1tb, 240gb won't have a lot of free space
That's a really bad idea since windows takes up like 80gb
@@phifediggy9659 he will use his hard disk also so 1tb hhd +240 gb ssd

YOU should replace your dvd player with a hardrive caddy? I did and put a 1TB ssd in it and WOW i love it....

Did you ever find a resolution to this? I believe the battery connection is hard wired into the motherboard on this model.

hello! nice video man! i have a question tho, can you tell me if this laptop can take two rams at once?
MeowIDGAF, yes it has two RAM slots. One empty and one occupied by the 4gb ram. You can easily upgrade Upto 16Gb(8*2Gb)
Estoy destapando mi compu para hacerle una limpieza, cuando lo agito suena la tierra 😂

Soldered, if I remember correctly.

ddr4 rams are just a bit faster than ddr3 rams
only a slight increase in performance
Awesome
Thanks
thanks you very much sir
nice hat bro
Thanks a million!!!
do you saw this video ? 😒
I have an laptop just like that
Bravo
Good try but most of the time I see only your hat.
This one was a bit tricky to record. I tried to keep my head out of the way for the area I was currently focusing on.
It wasn't that bad
Your hat is covering the majority of the screen, can't see a dang thing
Great saved my ass

who is that banging in the background? ex-wife?
