Thank you for this video. I really appreciate the hard work you’re putting into this channel. I think I’ve fallen for aviation and I am looking forward to a discovery flight soon.
🛫📖🛬 Good video Josh. When a student gets smooth on their landings and a real controlled runway heading take off it helps them to realize that it took effort and practice. By that time they can see the need to put out the same effort on other phases of their air work. You're doing a great job Josh. 📖🛐✈️
Thank you for the video! The volumes are very different for the voiceover compared to the cockpit "live" audio. I keep having to turn the volume up and down 😂. I look forward to more of your videos, as I'm thinking of starting lessons soon
Yes, you typically don’t need a lot of right rudder until you’re airborne. As far as opposite aileron, that’s usually not too noticeable. The manufacturers typically design the plane where you don’t need to fight these forces too much
Can you get these preflight maps for the Cessna 172 or a Piper Cherokee as a PDF? I'm trying to learn flying in X plane 12, so it would help me a lot! I usually find complete books about an airplane, but this map is much more useful! Thanks in advance!
@@FreePilotTraining No, I'm talking about the handy pilots checklist of the Cessna 172. Before Takeoff, Takeoff, Before Takeoff, Cruise and Before Landing! Because I already made a mistake with the carb heat and forgot to set the altimeter before taking off after another flight in Xplane 12 which got me into trouble. So I really want to go over the checklist.
Isn't a propeller plane still subject to Newton's 3rd law and be forced to yaw in the opposite direction the propeller is turning? Curious if during take off you have to correct for this as well as cross wind etc.. Or am I missing something?
@Free Pilot Training niiiice thanks! Curious, you fly out of Vinita a lot n I think you said you were based there. Do they offer PPL courses or? I live in Big Cabin.
@@DamienPKFRX nice! I have family from there. I’m currently in the middle of a big move. Not sure where we’ll end up yet, so I’m not taking any new students till I get things figured out
They aren’t going up. I’m verifying that they are up. I recommend this step because on short field and soft field takeoffs, you will take off with flaps at 10 degrees. If you always check flaps on your after takeoff checklist, you will never forget to raise them
You're just reading through that checklist without even checking which defeats the purpose of checklists and doing the checks. Not a good thing to be showing to future pilots
Not true. There are 2 ways to do a checklist: 1. Read a step, do a step, get a banana 2. Do everything by memory and check to make sure you got everything’s the military does number 2 for normal operations and 1 for emergencies. That’s where I learned that

You’re welcome! I appreciate you watching! It’s going to be a lot of work, but it’s well worth it!

That is a great point. Thanks!
Great videos dude i have learned tons thank you.

No problem

Thanks! Sorry about the audio. I’m slowly working to replace some of these older videos. I want to finish the PPL series first though
Love your videos.
What are the other checklists that come before the Preflight checklist?
Thanks! It’s an initial checklist for when you first get to the plane
Right rudder for both the takeoff roll and climb? Do you also turn the ailerons to the right to counter act the torque turning tendency when climbing?

Great information thanks always.
No problem
How far back can you pull the yoke before it is too much??
Basically, you need to watch your airspeed. You don’t want to stall. In fact, I stop pulling when I hear the stall horn
@FreePilotTraining Thanks for taking time to reply. The answer makes perfect sense.

If you’re talking about the VFR sectional, then yes. Just google search FAA VFR sectional pdf. It’s one of the first FAA sites to come up

Yes. It’s called torture effect. Most airplanes are designed to offset the left turning tendencies like this one

Pre take off Flaps 0 and after take off you had flaps going up.? M I missing something. Im at the start of my ppl.
