- Sacramento police arrested 26-year-old Dandrae Martin in connection to the K Street shooting that left six people dead early Sunday morning.
Police say he is a “related suspect" arrested on charges of assault with a deadly weapon and being a convict carrying a loaded gun. He's being held at the Sacramento County jail with no bail and is scheduled to appear in court Tuesday.
Martin has not been arrested for any homicide related to the mass shooting, Sacramento County District Attorney Anne Marie Schubert said in a statement to ABC10.

I just lost my father this Sunday, he was a good man, a peaceful man and loving.
My condolences to the families of those victimized by criminals who walk the streets because of irresponsible DA’s and so called judges. "Strict gun laws" in California do nothing more than restrict law abiding citizens to exercise their 2nd amendment rights, prohibit possession of a legal carry on firearms and create loopholes for career criminals to possess firearms and commit horrific crimes against humanity. Shame on this system tailored for the government and not the public’s safety.

As a victim of a violent crime where I had to use my firearm to save my life and three loved ones in a carjacking, l am only here b/c my state allowed me to carry and use “balanced self protection” for such a situation as that. If they hadn’t, I would be dead or in prison. And no, I would NOT have been able to civilly sue my attackers as a defendant. But they could’ve sued me in for civil court. When something like that happens to you, it’s so clear how foolishly politicized gun control laws are. At most, they make money for politicians and lobbyists. Civilians ‘defending themselves’ after they have used a firearm are in such a dangerous situation. Unless the decedent had a violent history and there is video evidence that clearly justifies your shooting, a good or bad attorney is life/death.

A good friend of mine, with no prior record of any kind, spent four years in a state prison (worst kind) for having two Percocet on him at a traffic stop that wasn't his. I live in Joplin MO where we lost two great officers to someone with over a dozen prior violent charges who spent 18 months in a county jail for trying to kill another officer before being released and succeeding his mission in Joplin. Let's keep blaming guns as the great evil when our outdated, underfunded, meandering, useless judicial system hasn't hadn't had any overhaul since WW2.
people who go for drugs get years, but rapists, child molesters and murders only get months or nothing at all. just a tiny slap on the wrist and they always end up as repeat offenders. the justice system is a joke and too focused on the wrong things.

Being a Sacramento California native lived here my whole life! I lived on the streets homeless at times. Lost on drugs but fortunately I have been blessed to change my life around!! Overcome that lifestyle!! It’s very difficult but a person can do it, it is left to the individual to make the choice!! But time clicks on…!! That’s what I only wish I could have realized. I live with my time wasted!! Now I’m living a great life, in Sacramento ca. I’m hoping these younger generation will see they have a chance to change, overcome their problems, their lives.. ..,
I’ve never had to worry about a mass shooting! In fact I was very proud that our Community has been safe. We’ve had our issues, problems with crime but never to this kind of level of ability to cause so much trauma!!

All guilty parties should be lined up and face the firing squad.
The details and evidence that need to be gathered, documented, catalogued and analyzed in these types crimes are astounding, if done properly. Think of a bank robbery with a few patrons and perps where shots are fired with injuries and/or deaths. Then project all of that over a half of a city block where there were dozens/hundreds of people in a large crowd with multiple outstanding shooter and other perps. All that evidence needs to be acceptable in a court-of-law.

A mass shooting usually indicates that it was committed by a single shooter. This is multiple people and multiple guns. This isn’t like sandy hook at all this are trigger happy gang bangers with no aim shooting at each other in a crowded place and unfortunately many innocent people were hurt that night. Life without or double life sentences are likely for the ones who don’t cooperate if not the death penalty.
