I love that the epiphyte worked on the hardscape. I'm going to give it a run. Tank looks awesome.

Go for it! Just make sure to give it plenty of light and the addition of CO2 will help a lot!

Same thing here, HC melted in the substrate and absolutely thrives on my rock work but I left the melted HC alone and it bounced back. More and more people start to notice that HC melts just like crypts. But it does grow back ❤

Glad to hear that other people have the same problems I do, as much as I love HC Cuba I'm happy with the change to the DHG.

I just re-scaped my 2 gallon Buce tank after a year. I don't feel my tanks "evolve" enough in 6 months. As for your tank, it looks great. I'd personally swap out the duplicates. HC in 2 spot:, take one out and replace with a different plant (maybe marsilea?). Thin out the different rotalas and add a new plant like limnophila aromatica. Just to create more diversity and dimension. AR mini looks good, maybe weave some other pink, red plants in there. Pogostemen Helferi would add a cool leaf shape to the tank. What about creating a "plant pocket" so you can simply swap out plant cups??

Very good suggestions on plant additions and I'll definitely look into it! Another question I have to ask myself with this tank being 7 months old is how long do I want to keep it running and do I want to change it to something else.

Yeah those emeralds are jumpers but worth the pain. I've got a school of 24 in a similar tank and they just pop and always school tightly.

I love them and I love how energetic they are! Just can't keep them from jumping lately.

@@SimplyAquascaping more like ever lol, they are just jumpers.

Might just have to change up the fish selection if the last three jump. Any suggestions for this scape?

@@SimplyAquascaping It's beautiful. I had less jumping when my rotala was overgrown and showing emersed growth. I think they play in the flow and jump out eventually I gave up and put a lid which was nice to keep evaporation down anyways. They look the best when the lights are turning down for the night and their eyes are catching light from the living room. Makes me imagine fireflies on an alien world lol. I might try a black water style tank for them to see how they pop. Since they stay in the upper 3/4 I don't think I can coax them into the shadowy areas of a scape with wood arches and such but they do go chill in tall vegetation. Just think they are criminally underrated in the hobby.

    What lighting do you use?

I shuffle around my 2 Siamese algae eaters to clear up algae in my tanks. Since I got them, there's never been much algae beyond a few visible threads.
But since they're busy critters, they find the algae that you don't see.

I've always wanted to keep Siamese algae eaters but since I run only nano tanks I don't think it would be very humane to keep them.
