You should react to her Tiny Desk Concert. It is 4 live cuts from her first album (Dawn) and she floats between jazz, blues and pop (and more) masterfully. I think you will love it. I am surprised you like a little folk music, I do too. A lot of her songs are story based and when she sings live she paints beautifully! Love your reactions. More Yebba please.
like another person mentioned, you were totally right and this song’s about someone passing. sadly, yebba’s mom committed suicide very shortly after yebba performed my mind. there are a lot of beautiful layers in this her mom’s suicide was in october, which is part of the song also, her mom was a science teacher and every fall she used to have her class watch ‘october sky’, a movie about kids who start by building bottle rockets in their backyard and grow up to be real rocket scientists, then have the class try building their own she always brought the extra stuff back for yebba and her brother, so the october bottle rockets were a yearly family tradition. then with her mother’s death that same month, with the rockets, the movie, everything.... then yebba took all of that and made this beautiful song her music is heartbreaking in a way that nothing else is for me. it feels like somewhere in there, there’s always a piece of hope, even though there’s so much pain too. thanks for making such a real reaction, it’s great to see you connect so much with the music
You put me on some Yebba that I didn’t know dude! Thank you so much! Ive said it before and I’ll say it again: you keep being true to you and this channel will grow and grow. You’re awesome man, thank you for the content and the time you put into all this🤘🏼
this way she has of telling stories, she tackles all registers with such beautiful ease, your analysis is crystal clear, thank you, this artist deserves so much to be heard by the world. thank you and well done 🎵🎶
Thank you for reacting to Yebba again. You still sound congested but I hope you are feeling better. Here are a few of my favorites. I agree that Yebba has soul and these songs show it. Yebba - Boomerang (Live) - ruclips.net/video/EDQVDCsrFAE/видео.html , Clark Beckham - Gravity feat. Yebba by John Mayer - ruclips.net/video/a9Z_ftojuO4/видео.html or YEBBA: Evergreen (Official Music Video) - ruclips.net/video/0v2nhMQmntE/видео.html
Sir if you read up on Yebba...she is SINGING about her mom who was a science teacher...she committed suicide. Read up on the lives of artist. Her mom use to bring home rockets Yebba and her brother shot off into the sky in October. Yebba dropped out of college after her death. Her death occurred right after her outstanding performance on SOFAR...when she sung MY MIND.
Oh, if you like folk then you should check out Avi Kaplan. He's making some amazing music and what bass voice he's got. Here's a recent favorite ruclips.net/video/LRpGURbB3LE/видео.html
