    I'd like to see it more in action. This series is one of my absolute favorites on youtube.. :)

    Very nice. Your stuff is always clean, precise, and very clever.
    Idea: Maybe the locking mechanism on the fence can move, and have two positions. The whole fence moves in 2mm increments, but the locking mechanism moves 1mm left and right. Left position, it locks the fence at 1, 2, 3mm. Right position, it locks the fence at 2, 4, 6mm.
    You could attach the locking mechanism to the fence with slots and add a ball detent to click it into left/right position. Click left, 1, 2, 3mm. Click right, 2, 4, 6mm. Just like your squares - top row of holes, 1, 2, 3mm, bottom row of holes, 1.5, 2.5, 3.5mm.

      Yes Will, it is possible but i don't want to solve non-existent problems. It brings unneded complicity, additional mechanism with additional play and no gain. I adjust it by handle with one touch for half secund. Simpler is better

    You can come up with your own tool brand. Better then FESTOOL. Keep up your good work ! 👌

    Overall, very very nice job. I will build something similar to this in the future.

    Change the sping steel to a spring loaded hinge, this does not flex sideways.

      No, it is worse way. Firstly i planned to do so. Spring steel much better. Flexibility problem exist only when you try to broke it. In the real work no problem exist.

    Great build. I wonder, can't you add a second '2mm' lock-hook offset 1mm and then choose which hook to engage when steping?

      It is possible but I won't do so. Fof me much convenient to turn handle. This problem worried people who observed it from the side. If they would work with it, nobody would ask about that. It isnt realy problem. The real problem is world filled by millions shitty tablesaws which need a tapping to microadjustment

    It looks like there is enough room to increase the diameter of the ball detent adjustment knob. With it being a larger diameter you can put twice as many detents in it. With twice as many detents you would increase how find the adjustment could be per click. Does this sound reasonable? If when you increase the diameter of the adjustment knob there is still not enough room for twice as many detects you can stagger the detente at two different diameters. Detects on the outer diameter and detents on a smaller diameter. That means there would be two detent plungers. As you turn the knob one or the other plungers will find a detent.

    Но если объем пилить, каретка и направляющая опилками не забъется?

    • @mirockswoodshop
      @mirockswoodshop  4 года назад

      Нет. Здесь каретка не елозит в работе как на ЧПУ где она 24/7 и то выдерживает. WD40 и масло наше все.

    Looked like you had to push hard to bend the spring steel, when cutting wood with the saw I am pretty sure you are not pushing hard sideways
