I think this fence is out of this world, a big name like festool should offer you a designers contract or something, . I never seen anyone on the net built such an accurate and profesional fence before, time to step up
This kind of thinking and design can only be done by individuals, it doesn't work in corporate BS land. There, money and hurry to make it are the first 2 rules for anything they make. Rule no. 3 is that it has to be imperfect so improvements can be made in future models where you have to pay for if you want those improvements. Dzjing, dzjing is the cach register doing. Or said in an other way, the Mirocks of this world are looking for optimal solutions, the corporations for optimal profit.
People like Mirock are the future. Not big manufacturers or large corporations. Look me up in 20 years to remind me of these words.
@@paulvandriel2344 i think festool is one of the few that thinks a bit out of the box 2 that is why it is 3 times expensive as another brand
@@mule666 True, that they have different approach to the market. But, the price tells you that they too looking for optimal profit, not optimal solutions. Festools are good tools, no discussion about that for me, but the price/quality ratio is crazy.
Festool ? oh god NO, please.
Sell your idea to a company that doesn’t sell their tools at twice the price when they aren’t anywhere near twice as good as their competitors .

Really nice job, in the previous video I couldn't work out how you would attach the nut and how you would get the large movements. This also explains the saddle to do the screw deflecting with the force of the spring steel pushing against it. I'm really impressed with your engineering skill.
I've been re-watching all of your older videos. What a treat this is. That fence is other-worldly...just amazing. Just a guy tinkering in his garage...

mounting the halfnut in epoxy is a quick and easy solution- i probably would have machined a custom part for that purpose. but when you have a lathe and a milling machine (with the tooling to cut acme threads of course) every problem is to be solved with them. you could probably patent that precision fence when it's done, it can be used on more than a tablesaw.

Brilliant Mirock. I love to watch your designs come together. I wonder sometimes if you have ever struggled with a problem. You make it look so simple to just design and build as easily as writing your name. I design and build mostly much simpler smaller pieces. I love seeing the solutions you come up with. I really like the micro adjustment design.
I used a single block for a 3D printer once and even though it had preloaded bearings it still had some flex. You might want to check flex when a significant load is applied to the end. If you use 2 blocks it won't flex at all.

So far this is a bad ass table saw. If you incorporate a lead screw for imperial measurements that could be dialed over when needed. That would be great.

freakin awesome. but you need more wide guide lock threaded because current lock had back slash the spring plate pushout when you turn the screw. you can make more wide or cutting around 230 degre threaded block where current block is 180 degre theaded block
No problem make wider but in this one I don't have problems

if you want to quick move on with spring life is it corect? or you need to move to the closest posible position and then micro adjustment to make sure you are on exact size you want? i didnt see all videos of your project but i guess you need some locking bolt ,just to make sure it wont jump off that spring life and move if you press too hard.but at all hats down very claver
If you adjust position for example on 10 mm number and jump to 10cm it will be correct 100mm - no need to adjust more. Any jump with 2mm step accordingly screw thread. Screw is accurate. 2. Yes, firstly I feared there will be needed additional lock but further I tried to work I refuse to do it. Thread is not trapecional. It is squared. Maybe I'll show in the next video
Single carrier does not garantee no room for play. I think you need to check 90 degree angle with some amount of force at the end of your fence (yes I understand that this is test fence but seems that you are going to leave single carrier).
I have a place for second block but don't see it needed

Dear Mirock,
To think that Festool's sister company Festo is into motion control equipment just like Rexroth Bosch, their table saws are rather pitiful in comparaison with your project. Having the displeasure of owning their Trimming saw PRECISIO CS 70 EBG-Set which one has to fight to slide the fence to the required measurement. Adding a quality linear sliding component as you did would have justified the very silly price asked. It just goes to prove that with a bit of ingeniosity one can surpass the so called finest ware currently available at a price considerably cheaper than advertised. Well done once again. Kind regards.
It is the real world size problem. In whole world no exist good and accurate small table saw.

you are a true genius in design and craftmansship but as a downside you have not so much followers as you deserve because most viewers cant copy your projects in their dreams because of tools and skills. make some easy projekts everyone can do and you will skip the 100k mark! no CNC!
