  • No.40 I've had my 2013 Town & Country for over 3 yrs now. It's time to replace the cabin air filter. Check out how to easily replace the cabin filter of your Town & Country Van. If you find my video helpful, don't forget to press Like, Comment & Subscribe. If you really like my video consider "Buying Me A Coffe" by pressing the Thanks button below the video. Have a great day.
    Special Note: A viewer mention at the 2011 Town&Country does not have the two clips to take out the filter. Instead it has screws (maybe two screws). Thanks you Lee.

    Very well explained. Most of the people don't explain about sides ( up and bottom) of the filter and how it is installed. Good job

    My replacement filter had zero difference in sides and had no stitching on the reverse side, it of course was per the filter box exact fit for my chrysler 2014 town and country and #5005 at walmart for $11.23. There was only one way to install it with the shorter sides up and down and the wider is east west/left right. I just placed it the same way the dirty filter came out. Both the top and bottom were equal which tells me my filter didn't have to be up or down a certain way and it only fits one way. There were no arrows etc., so they have definitely changed the design. I appreciate this video as I wouldn't have even known how to do it and I didn't even know of it's existence. Also, there were a ton of leaves and junk on it too, I bought this car used and from the looks of it, it was never changed as it was black as in dirty oil black. I just checked and they say that sometimes if your air conditioner is delaying coming on it could be a result of a dirty air filter. My car was doing this. I just turned on the engine and the cool is blowing but the fast air flow still isn't there yet so I know I have something causing the delay. Do you know what may be causing such a delay? Engine is cool and I haven't driven it yet as it usually starts to blow briskly in about 1-2 minutes.

    Thank you, thank you, thank you! I did this on my own after watching your video in a Walmart parking lot. My air filter was GROSS. It took some extra oomph and a borrowed screwdriver, and boy am I glad the old one is in the trash. Thanks for making things so simple and going over every step at a perfect pace.

    Should be noted that not all filters get the glue strip on the bottom. Pay attention to the airflow indication arrows on the side of the filter. The air in this box flows downward. Regardless of what side your glue strip is on, the arrows for airflow should face downward.

    So simple for this change-out. I do not know why anyone would pay a mechanic to do this. Filter available on Amazon really inexpensive. Same as original. Good jobe of showing this procedure. I do the same for my Mazda vehicles as well and save a bundle. Cabin air and engine air are simple changes.

    This video is also appropriate for the 2015 model year T&Cs.
    I have never understood why some think an automotive-related repair/replace video needs background music. Some are outright loud and/or obnoxious. I remember one guy had to talk over the outside wind noise *and* the music, and I could barely understand him. I was at least able to understand your instructions, but still, the music is too loud and unnecessary. I thought the pace of the video was a bit slow, but I've also seen videos that rush through the process and sometimes even skip steps that a n00b needs to see. You don't make any assumptions on the knowledge of your viewers. I especially appreciated that you showed which side of the new filter was on the bottom. I had already pulled mine out and shook out all of the leaves and loose particulates before I realized that I hadn't taken note of the side that was down. Also, my filter was three years old and much dirtier than yours, so I will be paying closer attention to this in the future, especially since I now know where the filter is and how to retrieve it.

    I had NO idea ANY vehicle had a cabin air filter until today...I just ordered one for my 2011 Chrysler Town and Country van today and my Jeep Patriot. Thank you so much. I only have the use of one arm&hand but it looks like even I can do this. By any chance do you now the part number for the 2011 Town & Country's back up camera module? My back up camera module doesn't work when it gets wet and I'd like to replace it with a new one and seal the new one before I install it. I read conflicting articles on the internet as to where it's located as well and not ready to dismantle my van to find out I'm in the wrong spot. Anyway, this one looks easy. Thanks!!!

    Air flows from the top towards the bottom since I’m assuming from the debris being caught on top. The line in the middle doesn’t not indicate bottom for all filters. You could add the direction of flow in this tutorial.

    Video helped me with getting behind the glovebox, but apparently the 2010 Town & Country doesn't have clips to get the filter out. Looks like at least two screws involved, but not at an angle I can see em. Which means it's more involved than I'd hoped. Guess I can see why they changed to a clipped cover in 2011.

    I got my van used, I've had it for a little over a year and in all the times I've gotten the oil changed not once have they asked me about the cabin air filter. Always the main air filter, until yesterday. From the looks of my filter I'll bet it's never been changed, it's a 2014 and the filter was so gross and full of leaves. I didn't even know I had a 2nd air filter. Thank you for this video! Question for you, what is the dampening chord?

    • @trueamerican1576
      @trueamerican1576 6 лет назад

      bepamprd the dampening cord keeps the glove box from plopping down when you open it. With the dampening cord it just gradually flows to the open position when opening.

    • @jonahvlogsdiy4143
