Any thoughts on why Empires have gone to Afghanistan, tried to control it and have I guess you can day failed, right? Here after the US pull out of the region. . Trying to get a better understanding of region.
Alexander was so far the only western conqueror who managed to establish a kingdom and culture in the region that lasted for centuries long after him, known as the graeco bactrian kingdom.
Violence certainly plays a part. But more than anything, it is the lack of any health infrastructure and limited transportation that are the biggest contributors to Afghanistan's life expectancy. I haven't been to Oman--yet. But am wanting to go.
All I know is that my Biological father is Afghan. I don't know anything about his family or even when he came over to America. Afghanistan is interesting I definitely want to find out what tribe I belong to. I took a DNA test with Ancestry.com and the results did not seem accurate. I did get my money back I will test with another company. Something to keep in mind if u dont know your race or background it's important to learn. There are diseases that attack certain races that's why I'm taking another one so I will know that part of my heritage
Thanks for your post. There are some beautiful parts of Afghanistan and in my two tours there, I was always struck by the resilience of Afghan people have had to continue in the midst of a very chaotic history.
@@rueschhoffteaches Well I am doing a DNA test to see what tribe I'm from over there. That country has East Asian influence, West Asian influence as well as South Asian influence. That's something to keep in mind I like diversity. Thanks for your comment
@@rueschhoffteachesur right. The graphic on the screen says “Australian” but as the picture is shown you’re saying “working with the US…” that’s why I was confused. N
@@rueschhoffteaches Thank you for replying. I know what you were implying. Sadly it is true. This video was interesting and I wanted to know more from you, so I thought there would be a part 2 for the extension of this video. Looking forward to your new videos. I understood you cover geography mostly, but I would also suggest you if you could cover some topics on Important revolutions and Wars in history. It would be very helpful and useful. Thank you. Take care.

Many thoughts but not which I am prepared to share. I spent two tours in Afghanistan before I was a teacher.

They adopted many aspects of Persian culture including Alexander himself & Alexander was married to a women of Bacteria.
I still remember this lesson, these videos are great.
Great to hear it, Jesus. Thanks for the kind words!
very good
The life expectancy is really low in Afghanistan that makes sense cause of the violence. My favorite country in the Middle East is Oman

Excellent video, thanks very much :-)
Glad you liked it!
3:51 says US but that’s not a US soldier
Hmmm. I thought I identified the Soldier as Australian.

Hi, have made part 2 on Afghanistan?
No. I fear it will be much like what we saw prior to 2001.
