Hello
Hi
Hello
Love Uzbekistan thank you Barbs!! ❤
Hey Barbs! Thank you so much again for having me as one of your guest hosts! It was a great honor! I discovered Geography Now back in 2015 as I’m very passionate about geography and this channel has shaped my life! I especially love the way that you and your team do the storytelling with a sense of humor 🤩 Never in a million years did I ever think that I would be given this great opportunity to appear along with my besties from abroad. I’m very grateful for this experience and I hope that everyone enjoys watching this episode, learning about my motherland Uzbekistan and hopefully gets inspired and motivated to visit Uzbekistan if they haven’t yet! 😍
Greetings to everyone from the 1st Danish-born Uzbek 👋🏼🙋🏻♀️🇩🇰🇺🇿
You did a greeeaaat job!! Glad to have you in this one! Sorry I couldn't use all the footage but I will put some of it in the Flag/ Fan day episode! You deserve more screen time!
@@GeographyNow thank you so much🥹🙏🏼 It’s a pleasure to work with you!

It looks to me like there is water falling down in front of the screen during your segment. Am I seeing right? Do you have homemade rain machine?

Fun Fact: This isn’t only the last Turkic nation, but also the last former Soviet republic. We really are approaching the end of the road
Altay migrants😂
@@lmdup2281not migrants, but conquerors!💪
Oh boy, hold on to your funny bone because I've got a hilarious tidbit for you! Guess what? This Turkic nation isn't just the last one standing, it's also the last survivor from the Soviet Union days! Talk about being at the end of the road, literally!
Imagine being the last guy left at a party. You're the cool Turkic nation that's still rocking it while everyone else has called it a night. It's like being the final boss in a video game, except instead of battling it out with power-ups and flashy moves, you're keeping the Turkic traditions and cultural heritage alive!
But seriously, it's pretty incredible to think that this nation is carrying the torch for an entire region. They're the sole representative of a rich tapestry of cultures and languages, and boy, do they have some serious bragging rights! It's like being the coolest kid in school, the one who grabs everyone's attention and gets all the high-fives.
And as we approach the end of this road, it only adds more excitement to the mix. Will they declare themselves the official capital of fun-tastic jokes and wacky anecdotes? Will they invent a new dance move that's a satirical take on the old Soviet dance routines? Possibilities are endless, my friend!
Yeah, sure. Kazakhs shielded the rest of Central Asia by losing half of our population. At the end of the 19th century, the population of kazakh people was slightly more than o'zbeks. After 2 famines, created by russians, in 1920, 1931-1933, half of kazakhs disappeared. Also, our ancestors were fighting against russian colonization for centuries. My direct ancestor, Qanai Bi, was Emir of Tashkent in 1770ish years. I hope one day, Turks will be smart enough to unite and become a powerhouse once again. We have a lot to do, Free East Turkestan, North Iran.
This fact is wrong, the last Soviet republic was actually Kazakhstan. Please do check your facts before spreading them online
Don't forget about Uzbek chess! Uzbekistan has some crazy good chess players including Nodirbek Abdusattorov, and Nodirbek Yakubboev, who took 1st and 2nd at the recent Qatar masters 2023.
Uzbekistan also took gold at the 2022 Chess Olympiad. In short, they have tonnes of great young players, and will almost certainly be one of the chess powerhouse countries in the future.
Where are you from? How you know about all? 😅
@@Dildora_Kosimova03 I'm an intermediate Swedish chess player, just noticed that there have been allot of Uzbek top chess players.

Thank you guys so much for this video, it's heckin HARD to find good resources on Uzbek culture online esp if you (aka me) don't know where to look. Being a historian myself and an avid wuzia novel fan, I loveeeee Uzbekistan. I've read so much about Samarkhanand Bukhara. Man, I love Turkic-Mongolic people. There are plenty of them in Thailand, my country. I never heard any of them caused any problems too. Nice people indeed.
One thing you missed mentioning in the episode in the culture segment. Uzbeks loooove Bollywood!! There has been a significant history of Bollywood movies popular in Uzbekistan. Actors from India like Raj Kapoor, Shah Rukh Khan are incredibly popular there. There have also been a lot of collaboration between Uzbek film industry and Bollywood. There were a quite a few Bollywood movies produced in the 1980s with Uzbek collaboration and some of them were even directed by Uzbek directors. Most notable is the Alibaba and 40 Thieves (an Arabian Nights story) starting Dharmendra (one of the most significant actors from India), Sohni Mahiwal (starring Sunny Deal) and many Mithun Chakraborty movies. There is an Indian restaurant in Samarkand run by Uzbeks (duh) which has been frequented by some of the Bollywood stars. It has autographed pictures of Bollywood celebs hanging on the walls. The restaurant also catered food to the Indian delegation during SCO summit in Samarkand in 2022.
As for Tashkent Declaration, the Indian PM Lal Bahadur Shastri was poisoned and killed in Tashkent after the declaration was signed.
🤷♂
As a Turk of course I love all the Turkic countries. But Uzbekistan have some special spot. I don't even know why. It just the way it is. Much love from Turkey❤
