Quick correction, Mephiston didn't undergo the primaris surgery because he wanted too. His powers slowly were becoming uncontrollable, which is why he underwent the procedure.
Sidenote, Mephiston literally flies ahead of the Blood Angels ships through the Warp and literally turned a traitor marines bones to dust with a thought.
Oh yeah wasnt it like because the rift warp is all fucked up and there is no astronomicon over there so he just pops out flies ahead in the warp and guides the fleet instead

Khorne must be disappointed, Mephiston gained powerful psychic powers, which is a deal breaker for an otherwise perfect murder machine.
khorne doesn't like sorcery, he would favor dante more than mephiston
@@thecommentguy9380 Dante is too precise, too focused on getting the job done right. He takes no joy in victory, doesn't want to collect trophies or indulge his rage, he doesn't revel in the idea of fighting forever. Dante is the old, tired, traumatized veteran who keeps sacrificing for the sake of humanity. He has honor and achieved excellence as a warrior, but his core values are strongly at odds with Khorne's.
@@KaiserAfini when fighting as a champion of khorne, he doesnt care about your values, he cares about how you shed blood in his name. Khorne would def favor Dante not because of his rage or what he focus on, he favors Dante for how he fights: up close and with honor (guns are allowed but as long as they're also close range).
And as i have said, Khorne doesn't like sorcery as he finds it dishonorable. The only known exception when it comes to sorcery is the Blood Pact traitor guard regiment, because their sorcery mainly assist in getting troops closer to enemy
I don’t know, Dawn if War 2 retribution had a Psyker join Khorne. He’d probably just strip Mephiston of his powers and bring him in.
Khorne still allows psyker as long as they fight close and honorable
I remember reading the Devastation of Baal section where Mephiston goes full super saiyan and having to re-read each page just to make sure I wasn't having hallucinations

The scene in the books were Mephiston is being turned into a primaris while he hovers above in astral projection mode is disturbing as hell. The descriptions of Cawl’s minion breaking him down and putting him back together made my blood go cold. Truly a great grimdark moment.

There’s an amazing scene in the most recent Mephiston book where a Harlequin is about to blow him and Mephiston up with a grenade when Mephiston literally saids ‘what grenade?’ Only for the Harlequin to see the grenade is no longer in his hand but in his at this point Mephiston actually feels a small sense of satisfaction when he sees the look of utter horror come across the Harlequins face

Hobestly making a Harlequin horrified is a feat in of itself.
In the Angels of Death series when he was in that scene, one cool detail is how he just teleports when you not seeing him and when he speaks he shifts from being noble and calm "Callistarius" and his gruff creepy Mephiston voice. Really sell just how unsettling he is.
I thought that was a really good depiction too - how even the BAs are not very comfortable around him.

Hands down the Blood Angels have the best characters of any chapter. Fitting as they had the best primach also.
Shoutout to Sentor Jool for trying to 1v1 Ka'Bandha while Seth and the remaining Flesh Tearers pulled off world with the feather of Sanguinius.

my favorite Mophiston moment was when he split himself into three aspects: His body, his mind, and his soul. his body kept a chaos portal from opening and releasing hoards of daemons and greater daemons, his mind told his apprentice to "Use the magical 'fuck you, die' staff" on the hoard of chaos cultists that were killing him, and his soul flew into the chaos portal to chase and try to kill the greater daemon of Tzeench that caused the whole debacle. His apprentice would die in the pskyic explosion caused by the magical 'fuck you, die' staff, Mephiston's body would be horribly burnt by warpfire, and the greater deamon would escape his wrath, but it was a realy cool moment none the less.
I am so angry I am going to leave my body here to keep the door shut, while my mind go's and tells someone to fucking die and my soul will take a trip to hell to chase a daemon.
This has gotta be one of the most Certified “Doom Guy” moments in all of 40k.

To put into perspective on how insanely powerful the Aeldari were during the War in Heaven, a Necron Nemesor said that Mephiston was only a faint shadow in comparison to the ancient Aeldari.
Then it's a good thing there are no more Aeldari that strong.
But the War In Heaven cancels itself out.
Krorks more powerful that Primarchs numbering the septillions, Aeldari that could make the Emperor look weak in trillions and the Necrons that had weapons they forbid to be used in 40k kinda just cancels itself out.
Everything is so strong that nothing is "strong" in a sense.

There’s literally a Clive barkers Jericho scene where his friend walks into his chambers on his ship to see all of Mephistons skin hanging around the room and Mephiston sat down just raw muscle exposed then with a wave of his hand the skin starts to wrap back around him

I hadn't ever noticed before that when Mephiston is around, a large building is the one of the most dangerous places to be in the 40K Universe.
I'm all for characters like Mephiston on the umm..... "good guys" side. If chaos gets to just poop out entire armies of demons whenever they want and have a ton of op chaos champions that pretty much all respawn when they are killed (fucking bullshit), then the Imperium should get to have their own op dudes as well that occasionally just shit stomp a ton of chaos marines or tyranids.

I think is more the last. One is to have a curse, that makes you a unstoppable berserker, but other is to be able to control this in your favor.

3:50 there is actually a scene with him in Angels of Death and that is a pretty accurate description of his voice.
I remember back in 5th edition he was weak and in 6th he became the anti friend maker. As rules go he should have at least Bobby G stats

It’s been awhile since I read Prospero Burns, but I’m pretty sure Magnus’s heart wasn’t all the way in that fight since he was still treading on the side of loyalist, and then *became* a chaos agent when his back was broken Bane style.
Also its stated in the book they took Custodes and Sisters of Silence with the Wolves when they burned Prospero so Leman had blanks with him when he fought Magnus

Mephiston is inspiring. Especially enjoyed the City of Light novel, where Mephiston tolerates Anthros who was acting sus. He knew Anthros was weak to the chaotic taint but was pragmatic enough to use Anthros to foil Zadkiel's summoning ritual. The Blood Angels have it always had it very rough, yet they struggle through it all. Thats awesome.
A video on non-chaos aligned warp entities would be pretty cool ngl.

i remember listening to the Mephiston trilogy on audible, and it was really good. also, Darkness in the Blood is a really good backstory on how exactly Dante became lord commander the blood angels, and also on how the Angels are faring in the aftermath of the Devastation of Baal.

After this, because of his awesome power and the fact that the other Blood Angels were a bit scared of him and wouldn't refuse his application for promotion when he applied for one, he quickly rose through the ranks to the position of Chief Librarian."

The obvious literary reference is to Faust, specifically the demon Mephistopheles. Dude makes deal with devil story. This would be some pretty blatant foreshadowing. Callistarius made a deal with a devil of some sort, comes back as Mephiston. But now, the devil has come calling (Mephiston is slowly being consumed by black warp fire, it doesn't hurt but it's slowly spreading and wherever it's burned he is now partially seethrough.) What happens when it covers him completely? I'm guessing that PLOT happens.
Spoiler, it'll never happen cause then the actual 40k story would progress.
