- Welcome back as we continue to explore the plot and history of EVERY Mega Man game. Today we jump forward and join X and Zero as they forever battle the Maverick Sigma, and his evil forces! Man, I would pay a ridiculous amount of money for a Megaman X Anime
I know right! I LOVED the Battle Network anime (one of the few times I will say SUB not DUb for it. The Dub is bad.........4Kids One Piece Bad) and each season was a games plot but expanded. Do this with X, imagine how deep the characters could get!

@@laurael1884 They’re the best creating unintentional abridged parodies of their own shows I guess. The 4kids version of Yugioh GX might as well be a parody show. It’s super funny and nonsensical unlike the Japanese version. And One Piece has so many edits the show is laughable in a good way because it’s a completely different show with different story, so the ability to have an alternate comedy version of the show is funny I guess. If you don’t care about a serious story then 4kids can be fun sometimes, yeah.
@@TheNintendoNetwork The Battle Network anime Rockman.exe was SOOO good! I wish it wasn’t mostly episodic and had more plot, but that’s where the sequel shows Axess, Stream and Beast shine. I was watching Stream last year after only having seen the first series, and it’s just wonderful. Also the EXE Stream movie was fantastic! I think it was called Program of Light (Or dark, can’t remember). I watched it twice it was so fun! :D
I would love a MMX anime by the same studio.
Bruh I really miss the Megaman X games, I personally enjoyed these more than the classic Megaman games.
I love the Classic, but I agree the X series evolved it. As I said at the start of the video, it seemed like it with us, which I loved. The stakes were higher, which added more to it.

Thank you. There was a lot to say, and even still a lot more I could have. People say short videos are more appealing, but I think with how much certain games, like the Mega Man Franchise, a longer video works well.

One thing I didn't realize about X7 until recent years was that the cutscenes between Red and the "Professor" (that eventually ended up with Red falling victim to blackmail) happened BEFORE the events of the game proper.
Hmm said there weren't a lot of side side, and completely missed the Mega Man X-Treme games on the Game Boy Color. Those games were set between X1 and X2 and X3 and X4 respectively. There is a lot of interesting story in these games and even the second one even went far enough to set up the events of X6.

@@TheNintendoNetwork Also, when defeating Gate as Zero in Mega Man X6, Isoc is found inactive but Zero still hears his voice calling him "the strongest robot". Alia mentions that this appears to be "similar to the Erasure Incident" which took place on Laguz Island in Xtreme2 between X3 and X4. During that time Iris worked with the Maverick Hunters as a Navigator. Also X and Zero were playable in their own story modes, and/or a combined "Extreme Mode". Point is, for this mention in X6, Xtreme2 is considered canon.

MegaMan X Command Mission isn't Canon in the Main Series for many reasons that you should know, Actually it is an alternate future from Mega Man X7 and not a sequel of X8, because it was released before this last one
Great video. Only thing I would mention is that the helmet upgrade in X2 doesn't give the screen killing buff, that's the chest upgrade. The helmet upgrade is still somewhat useless as it's like a radar that helps you find hidden walls amd such (not to be confused with the satellite helmet upgrade in X3. Completely different)

My head cannon is that MegaMan sacrificed himself to stop Zero. Dr. Light seeing the destruction Zero caused he puts Zero and X into hibernation chambers and then created a Dr. Light AI that continually creates and hides new upgrades for X, which is why the upgrades keep getting better.
Also the upgrade capsules teleport the upgrades from a hidden research lab run by the Dr Light AI.
Shows the Chill Penguin level while playing the Storm Eagle theme. Lol.
Mega Man X was one of the SNES games I had as a kid. I played it for hours. But never beat it..

When I was a kid in the 90s. And I first rented at blockbuster. I knew it was an iconic hit. Legend. Even back then as a kid. I knew what I had rented. And part 2 and 3 was more of the same. Mega man x was a home run even as a kid.
Maverick Hunter X was not a bad game. Not the best, but imagine if Capcom succeed at rebooting the canon storyline. With great anime like Days of Sigma too. MMX7 hurt the franchise so bad that ppl automatically assumed 3D MMX is very bad.

Regarding why X is fighting Zero in X5, and why the Zero virus is called the Zero Virus in the first place: The correct timeline is that the cannon even with upgrades fails, and so does the emergency shuttle. Zero, driven by his past experiences in X4, doesn't want to lose his only remaining friend, so he volunteers to drive the ship instead of X. He Flies the weapon into Eurasia, his shuttle fails and crashes along with a large section of Eurasia. Upon checking the literal ground zero, Their video shows Zero perfectly fine emerging from the wreckage that should have killed him, pulsing with the ominous power. The Zero Virus gets its name from the fact that much like Sigma's corrupting Aura, they see Zero with his own. And what's worse, Sigma reveals that his plan was to turn the Maverick Virus, which was a product of the Wily Virus's effect on Reploids' free will system, which was copied out of X's systems (That's why they're called Reploids, they're droids that replicate what X is) but didn't have the literal 100 years of maturation X's systems had. The Maverick Virus is corrupted further inside of Sigma, Making him no longer a Reploid, but a sentient Virus, the Sigma Virus. His latest body was built by.... Wily. How? Well, Dr. Light's been doing all sorts of things from those capsules, why wouldn't Wily have a few? With New body, the cost was to restart the original Virus in Zero using Sigma's Virus, which then made the Zero Virus. In the difference of the two endings of the X and Zero confrontation, Controlling X, He immediately determine Zero to be dangerous and needing to be put down. When you control Zero, X is requesting Zero return to base to submit himself to scanning, which mirrors the Colonel confrontation in X4, with the same outcome. What's more, if you're controlling Zero, X trans forms into the Ultimate Armor, something you can gain in the room before the Zero confrontation, and in Zero's version he can get the Black Zero Upgrade. This is the Correct ending (Cannon fails and Zero awakens) because the cutscene ending in any other combo has Zero still able to get up and defend against Sigma's sneak attack.
Zero *has* to awaken and be destroyed, and that only happens in his "Bad" ending. If Zero doesn't have his Virus Awakening with the pink aura, And X isn't the one in control, he's still able to stand after being shot by Sigma.
Can't ALL Reploids TECHNICALLY go "Maverick-at-will"?
Yes, there is both free will and the virus that compels them to to be maverick. The free will part is covered in the plot of MM Zero 3
This just makes me really want a Megaman X9. Things were finally heading in the right direction at X8.
I really liked Mega Man X Command Mission and I enjoyed X4-6 a lot.
I hope they will give us a CM 2, new X games and of course an Anime!

Megaman X5 can be summerized as: Explosions, Dialogue, *EXPLOSIONS AND DIALOGUE AT THE SAME TIME!!! 💥💬*
Once goddam again, Inafune isn't megaman or megaman x 'creator', he was only an illustrator and is only mark of work was the design (not even the story) of zero in Megaman x. He only took the license for himself around megaman 7 (and megaman X3 in 1995). He say he wanted Zero to be the main character and it was supposed to be the case in first place, but all other interview of the team seems to indicate that to be a lie and that zero was never intended to be more than a secondary character, maybe a second playable character.
I like X1, X4, X5, X6, & X8 the most in the series. I remembered renting the rpg..i don't remember if i liked it or not. I have to replay it one day
I got MMX not too long after it was out, I believe it was marked down to sell at the time. I fell in love with the story, art style, and gameplay. It's a perfect transition to 16 bit!
I hope of they do a X9 they go back to the X1-X3 graphics.

Just a small nitpick. Mega Man & Bass did have Wily behind all the strings. The only time it wasn't Wily was Mega Man & Bass 2, or Challenger From The Future, which had Rockman Shadow behind it all.

I loved the remake of X1 on psp. I loved the extra mode. I always wanted to play as him in X1. And the mini movie was great too
The helmet in X2 gave you an item radar. The Giga Crush was the chest part.

I loved X8..thank God there was unlockable characters after you beat the game. That was s blessed surprised i never thought i would see. And yes, X7 was full of errors. I liked it for trying something new. And i remembered having fun but the errors over & over really got me mad.
I've never understood why people put so much weight on "story" in video games.
If anything, it gets in the way of gameplay, so the less of it, the better.
Depends on the type of game. In a platformer story isn't that important. I just want to blow stuff up.
In a RPG you need a good hook in the beginning because in the early game there isn't much you can do in the way of strategy (leveling up isn't strategy)and quite frankly watching numbers go up just isn't exciting.
In the late game you can make actual plans because you have tons of tools at your disposal and in an RPG the most rewarding thing as far as gameplay goes is coming up with a tactic and it actually working but without an early game story hook you'll never get to that part.
Then of course you have horror/mystery games where figuring out the story is the entire point of the game
Of course as laughable as it sounds some people legit expect a good story from their hentai so maybe some people just have really high standards.

I recently played throught X5 with Zero. Some of the conversations with the Mavericks is about how Hunters are rude and violent. The dilema of how they decide a reploid has gone maverick. That's why X fights Zero. Zero hasn't gone maverick but his avoidance of the medics is very suspicious. They resolve all this with violence of course a hunters do...
MegaMax on SNES was awesome played it over and over so challenging of a game. It has to be ranked one of the best games of all time. Does anyone wanna enlighten me on its status among the great SNES beloved games?

What kids these days don't understand about mega man X2 is it had a physical hardware chip in the cartridge that allowed it to be the first video game of all time to use polygons instead of sprites! That's what it added!

I always thought that when the reploids went Maverick is because of the Roboenza Virus in classic megaman
It is a popular theory that the Roboenza is a basic version of the Maverick Virus, but nothing officially stated yet.
It makes a lot of sense, we thought the virus was destroyed in Megaman 8, but some how Wily has it?

It was such a baffling choice to have the same final villain predictably return in every single game... i can't wrap my head around it. It makes no sense, it loses all significance by the 3rd games, and it makes Rock and Dr. Light look like gullible idiots for being fooled again and again, like Dr Light... you REALLY think you can trust Dr Wiley after he screwed you over 5 times previously? It's ALWAYS Dr. Wiley anytime robots try to take over the world. Could have at the very least kept an eye on him but no, this time it's someone else using robots to take over the world
I mean the 3D formula can work with Mega Man as demonstrated by Mega Man Legends, but it just wasn't executed well in Mega Man X7
If you look at all the MegaMan box art over the years you can tell he was getting tired of fighting Just look at his face.
I think the story of the x franchise is cool, even if muddy in parts. It’s what drew me in honestly, cause I wouldn’t have cared much about it otherwise. I’ve never touched a megaman game, not sure if I Will. but I wish there was more of the x gang, to truly wrap up after the finale of X8. All that complexity fizzles out, though maybe that’s good- maybe not. Perhaps a synthesis of the story so far would be best. Alternatively, will we get official stories for the events between x and the classic series? I’d LOVE that
When I was a kid I loved these games, still do, but I didn’t have an SD card in my GameCube so I couldn’t save.

I’m a bit surprised. Your the 1st person i’ve met who talked down MMX5, but talked up MMX6. I know i haven’t played 6 cus it has a monstrously horrid reputation. So idk from personal experience.

Why does everyone forget about the Megaman Xtreme games. It was two spin offs fir the gbc and even had Iris as the navigator in xtreme 2.

Also, X7 is my favorite game in the series. It was my first full playthrough of an X game, which helped me overlook a lot of the negative elements, and the more I played the more those issues felt less present. I played it on PS2 and never encountered any bugs. The voice acting was just awful though

I grew up on x4 x5 and Megaman 8. Didn’t like x6 so much when I was little
X6's biggest weakness is its story. It was obviously rushed, and then coming from Japan to the US translation was done even quicker.

I would love to see a mega Man x anime especially growing up in the nineties I got to see the mega Man cartoon and there was an episode on the cartoon where megaman x got to meet OG megaman vile was also and episode
Personally I found the plot of x5 rather enjoyable because it bases itself off the ending of x3 which is further hinted at in zeros storyline in x4. In x5 It is hinted at that wily has allied with sigma somehow and has told sigma to purify zero using the virus. Now the enigma/shuttle thing is a bit weird but there is a cutscene were Douglass and signas talk about zero getting stronger from the sigma virus and not weaker which was of great concern to them, which could foreshadow x and zeros duel. Of course if you fail to destroy the colony, zero is "purified "and you fight a super powered version of himself which has a one shot kill attack. As a side note sigma says something interesting before you fight him as x. Says he gained an ally who built him his new body and who hates x as well. Between what x and zeros version of the story it is heavily implied that its wily. But sigma also mentions he used to be a comrade of the hunters or at the very least x in general, so that means wily was with the hunters for some time. My hypothesis is that dr.cain=dr.wily.
I don't personally see Cain as Wily, but it's not out of the realm of possibility as we know so little between the gap from Classic to X.
Wily was a colleague of Light, not of the Hunters. Could have been a translation error and really referring to that.

All i know from the english version of x5 is that someone sided with and built sigma a new body, someone who used to be a friend of the hunters or part of them and this person hates x for some reason, meanwhile sigma states he met someone who told him about zeros truth, who is heavily implied to be wily due to sigmas words about father and what not. Hence the sigmas plot to "awaken" zero.

There are tweaks I want to make to this in the future. A version 2.0 if you will. Especially if a X9 is ever made. Visuals being one of them, so I do see where your coming from. Although the snarky way of your comment is not very helpful. I am a one man operation, and this video in particular was made even before I got a huge boost of subs.
But that all being said, again the fixes you suggest are going to be implemented when I can.
