    Hi, Great Vid. i have now been on OM for 2 months working slowly and learning all the time, i am about £350 profit. for the last 3 weeks I have been looking for Extra places havent seen any over 84%. Also 2 ups I followed your video and set up for OM to email me with any thing over 98% and nothing in the last 3 weeks. What am I doing wrong?

    • @ProfitPineapple
      @ProfitPineapple  3 года назад +2

      Hi John,
      The best extra places matches occur in the last few minutes before most races start, the opportunity is best on Saturdays for EP’s on high quality racing.
      As for the 2up alerts not being received that seems strange.
      The football season is coming to an end and lots of divisions have now finished until next season but the premier league is still active.
      I would check to see all the parameters are set up exactly right on your OddsMatcher filter and if the emails aren’t being sent to your spam folder.

    You only ever bet on one horse per race or do you ever look at betting on more, to give yourself a better chance of hitting that extra place?

  • @patelkamdar1554
    @patelkamdar1554 2 года назад

    So you don’t need to worry if the lay odds go down as smarkets will automatically take the lower odds. But what if the lay odds go higher, in that case you would have to scramble and change the figures in the EP catcher right?

    • @ProfitPineapple
      @ProfitPineapple  2 года назад

      Hi Patel,
      That's right, if the lay odds are shorter than what you lay at, Smarkets will automatically put your bet in at the best available price.
      The lay odds shouldn't go to much higher unless there is something inherently wrong with the horse on the race course, but yes, you will have to manually re-enter the market if the odds go higher on the exchange

  • @pintoflitzpiepe
    @pintoflitzpiepe Год назад

    Just getting my head around this but why are there two separate lays at different odds? Isn't there just a back for the horse to win and a lay for the horse not to win..? How do you access that second lay at the exchange..?

    • @mil.o
      @mil.o 8 месяцев назад

      One for laying the horse to win, one for laying the horse to place

    Great stuff Liam, nice video and explanation. I have a question, if I may. I have seen at various places that it is not good to make bets that are rated above 100% as you have here. Have I got things mixed up?

    • @ProfitPineapple
      @ProfitPineapple  3 года назад

      Hi Alan,
      Thanks for watching!
      Normally if you where just backing and laying an outcome I wouldn’t recommend taking an arb above 100%.
      However, with extra places there are lots of variables and most of the time the value comes from the lay odds on the exchange and not from the bookmaker, so taking slightly over 100% isn’t really an issue for EPs.

    • @agemoth

      The first is your betting against the horse to win. The 2nd is you are betting against it placing in all the places except the extra place.

    • @ProfitPineapple
      @ProfitPineapple  3 года назад

      Thanks Paul!
      Yeah, the odds do tend to move pretty quickly in the last 10 mins so it's always best to practice on smaller stakes until you get a good feel for how to deal with EP's.
      At really big meetings and festivals, you can get on horses hours before the start of races without any of the pressure of having the odds move.

      @@ProfitPineapple The worry is that you back at the bookies and your lay doesn't match or partially matches?

    • @ProfitPineapple
      @ProfitPineapple  3 года назад +1

      @@paulgjohnston yes this can be a concern. I will create a video in the near future explaining in detail how to deal with unmatched bets and partial matches with extra places.
      This becomes more of an issue as your stakes start to increase but generally isn't too much of a problem on Smarkets when using smaller stakes.

      Cheers for watching Darren, appreciate it.
      With Smarkets you can generally get matched if there isn’t enough liquidity at the odds, the bots that they use are pretty good at matching you, it’s not quite as easy on Betfair.

    ok first things first, this is am excellent example , so thanks for posting this, however I have a number of questions,
    am i right in thinking you only placed a bet on this horse due to the rating over 100? if not what made you trade just this horse and if yes then how many times does a horse have over 100% on an extra place race .
    had the horse not had a rating over 100% what's the maximum ql you would of been looking at for this horse .
    in this chance you did well to get the extra place however with the minimum ql been £2.59 of green I am very surprised you didn't place on another horse, is there any reason you didnt (other than what i stated in question 1 )
    why dont you just split your screen its so much easier and why don't you just do voice-over much less time consuming than doing the whole picture in picture ?
    all in all well done good videos and keep them coming

    • @ProfitPineapple
      @ProfitPineapple  3 года назад

      Thank you, much appreciated 👍
      I look to take a minimum match of 97% anything higher is a bonus.
      QL’s will differ from person to person depending on what size stakes they use. For me, I wouldn’t want to take any more than a £3 QL.
      As for the amount of horses you get on, the rule of thumb is to get on as many as the bookmaker is paying out on extra places providing that you can get a good
      enough match.

  • @RanjitSingh-jf2kg

  • @matchedbettingnoob8577

    Thanks for the walk through, very helpful.
    In terms of liquidity, do you ever worry about not being fully matched before the race starts? For example if there is very low liquidity compared to your liability would you maybe not place a bet or will you place a bet no matter the liquidity? How much liquidity are you looking for on a bet with say £1000 liability?

    • @ProfitPineapple
      @ProfitPineapple  3 года назад

      Hi there, thanks for watching!
      In terms of liquidity, it's important that the lay stake that you are using is less than the available liquidity at the odds that you are trying to place a lay bet on.
      Smarkets a really good at matching you if there isn't enough liquidity at the odds and you place the lay bet, although when starting out I wouldn't recommend placing a lay bet unless there is an adequate amount of liquidity at the odds.
      Due to my experience, I will often lay on Smarkets if there isn't quite enough liquidity as I know how to safely deal with partial matches.
