It's become clear that long hair is dominating the world of men's hair right now. But, nonetheless, the time will inevitably come for a haircut. Watch as 4 YEARS of Hair Growth is cut away in this extreme hair styling tutorial!
Tips To Grow Long Hair For Men:
Regular shampoo and conditioner 2 to 3 times a week
Do not brush wet hair
Do not brush hair roughly or for too long
Do not blow-dry or heat
No coloring
No bleaching
No tight ponytails or hats
Growing a long hairstyle is more than just letting your hair grow out in every direction. After all, you still need to look good during the in-between period when you are still growing your hair out and have short or medium length hair. For example, proper hair maintenance requires that you:
Shave or trim your sideburns.
Style your hair based on its current length.
Avoid a hairstyle that doesn’t suit you.
Avoid forcing a man bun or top knot until you have the length required.
How To Brush or Comb Your Hair:
The best hair brushes are made from boar bristles because they don’t tear or stretch hair strands during regular brushing. If hair is already long, begin brushing at the tips while holding the rest of the hair in your other hand to avoid pulling at the scalp and hair roots. Tangles should be worked out with the fingers to avoid stretching and damaging hair strands, causing breakage and split ends which will prevent your hair from growing at all.
Brushing hair thoroughly before washing will limit tangles. Hair is more subject to damage when it is wet, so it is important to be careful not to pull or stretch wet hair. After brushing, men should also avoid tight ponytails or braids, which can put tension and strain on your hair and result in breakage.
Shampooing and Conditioning Hair:
It is not necessary to wash your hair every day. Doing so can actually strip your hair of its natural oils, making it dry and brittle. Brittle hair is subject to breakage, so even if it was growing fast, breaking it will stop it from reaching its maximum length.
If you must wash your hair every day, it is best to use a very mild or organic shampoo. A good conditioner helps to limit tangles, replace natural oils that are stripped away by washing, and provide moisture. It is best to avoid conditioners that contain waxes since they can weigh hair down and make it appear thin and dull. Afterward, use a leave-in conditioner once a week to keep it healthy and strong, and growing thicker and fuller.
Lastly, avoid washing your hair with hot water, and instead use warm or cold water. Cold water increases the shine in your hair.
Cut or Trim Your Hair
While this may seem paradoxical, cutting off the damaged ends of hair shafts actually rejuvenates their growth. By regularly trimming split ends every 8 to 12 weeks, guys can avoid breakage and help their hair grow faster and longer naturally.

so sad :( im growing mine out and I feel this day is inevitable for most men who do. I had mine as long as his in the past and cut it.. I regret it partly but got to experience every hair style I never tried like shaved head and everything in between so it was worth it but I am ready to grow it back 10 years later and love it for at least 7 years is my goal.. I hope I don't cut it before than!

As a guy with long hair. Taking care of a mane that long is really time consuming. I've been growing mine for 4 years and finally decided to cut it. I love my long hair, but taking care of it is extremely difficult. What I miss most is quick showers. I don't wash my hair everyday but I dread the washing days because it's a ton of work. I'd rather chop it all off and start fresh. Hair will grow back eventually and I get a break dealing with the mane.
What do you mean by maintaining the hair? I have hair a few inches longer than his and it takes me about 15 minutes to shower with no other hair treatment. What were you doing that took so much time? I’d like to try doing some more to improve how it looks

you kinda get tired of cleaning it, of taking an extra time to take care of it, of detangling it every single day(in my case and my best friend), and sometimes you wanna start over again or try a new look.

I feel your pain. It’s a constant struggle, if you get a bad haircut with short hair it takes maybe a couple weeks at most before you can change your style... but if you cut long hair like ours it’s atleast a year before you can have even a fraction of what you lost, plus you need to go through the awkward stage again..... I can never decide if I should cut or not
Whenever I see people with such long hair cut it a little bit of me dies. Let it be men/women. It also kills to cut my own hair for formal occasions. But since lockdown I haven't chopped it and it goes below the shoulder now 😌 I can tie it up from now on for a formal meeting.

No he probably trimmed it from time to time, plus his hair is a bit wavy which makes it look shorter than it actually is
