    f your looking for a amp kit that I recommend please click this link to this amazon page
    Favorite budget amp and sub combo amzn.to/3gnv3mK
    the I got kids but I still want bass setup amzn.to/2TLY1Vx
    the I got kids but I just got my TAX RETURN setup amzn.to/3iy3J86
    Recommended 4 Gauge Amp Kit amzn.to/2R0BUpI
    Recommended 8 Gauge Amp Kit amzn.to/3jMmrpN
    BUDGET 4 gauge amp kit amzn.to/32ZHiPD
    BUDGET 8 Gauge amp kit amzn.to/3lNGYMm
    most notable difference is that the PREMIUM kits use OFC (oxygen free copper ) which conducts electricity much better and the budget kits usually are not true 4 Gauge resulting in less wire strands
    Budget will be alright for most amps but if your running more than 400 watts rms power I recommend the premium amp kits
    learn how to install a amplifier in your car or truck with this detailed video. we will go over everything like panel removal,running the power cable, running rca's ,connecting the ground cable and much more.

    This video has helped me understand all of this a lot better. I'm going to need to use a Line Output Converter with my car to use a sub woofer, but I'm unsure on how to hook that part up correctly. Would I need to figure which wires hooked into the factory stereo are my rear speakers so I can tap into their response, or do you have another suggestion?

    • @connectedcaraudio
      @connectedcaraudio  10 лет назад

      That's exactly what you need to do. The rear speakers are usally the best to tap into. If you are installing a subwoofer it makes it a little bit easier cause you can sum the line out converter positives together and the negatives together and only tap into 1 rear speaker. I have a video on how to add a subwoofer to a factory stereo but it's for a camry I think but you should be able to watch it and get a better understanding of adding a line out converter

    So the speakers have two wires, both come off and new one connected with amp is connected to speaker too ?
    I'm trying to reach good sound using just good brand 6x9 and 4 5" speakers, but all connected to an amp.
    Thanks :)

    ConnectedCarAudio, It looks like you're working on an 09 corolla? By any chance, do you have a video of the entire install? I'm struggling on two things: 1) where to drill or feed the amp cable wire through the firewall 2) wiring diagram for the rear speakers to add in an output line converter. Warm regards

  • @filipinasantos2769

    you said rund the power supply and the remote or on off switch to the driver side and the audio in to the amp will be on the opposite side or the passenger side to avoid noise into the system, BUT at the end of those wires you put them close together behind the seat close to the amp, my point is if you put them or wired them on one side of the vehicle saves time.

    There are much better options to mounting the amp like that. There is no need to cut up the rear carpet that much as that will affect the resell factor.
    1.) Pull rear carpet off the back of seat which exposes usually a metal plate
    2.) Cut a 1/2 , 5/8 , 3/4 inch board to the size of your amp with at least an extra inch or two around the sides.
    3.) Find a good place to screw the rough board into the metal back plate. Slightly countersink screws if you want less worry of metal on metal contact. Simply drill the small screw holes and then use a slightly larger bit to open up the hole only on the surface to allow for the head of the screw to sink into the wood.
    4.) Put the carpet back over the board and securing it back to the seat using whatever factory clips / edging was used. Should have a very clean looking rear seat with very minimal bulging from the wood installed behind / under the carpet.
    5.) OPTIONAL but worth it. Find something to use as a spacer about 1/2" - 1". I used extra hardware from TV mounting kits which allows me to have the amp slightly raised away from the carpet. Mainly to be able to have a near cable free installation plus it does allow some air flow which was a bonus.
    6.) With the amp mounted over the carpet and into the hidden wood board using spacers to allow a gap under the amp. Now route all the cables directly under the amp and secure them with some sort of wire management. Just attach the cables to amp and route them directly underneath the amp. You might have to remove the amp once to add securement of the cables to the board and then put the amp back and make final connections.
    My amp is mounted low enough on the rear Camry seat that when I look from the rear of the trunk and the seat is in the normal upright position that all the cables that are routed under the amp and then down out the middle are covered by the trunk carpet. If your amp is higher on the seat then you could cut a slit UNDER the amp carpet so all the cables are under the amp and then routed under the carpet under the amp out the bottom towards the trunk floor. Only holes I put were the 6-8 small screw holes in the carpet. VERY Clean looking with all the cables routed directly under the amp. Almost looks like no cables are installed as it is just a amp. Make sure you secure your power wires under the amp so the wrapped around method under the amp won't put stress on the connections and work their way loose later.

    nice video and well explained. i have a quick question. i recently bought an amp wiring kit for my 1100W 4chl amp. but it did not contain all the terminals i needed. what size terminal would be best to connect a 4gauge wire to the amp and the ones that came with the kit (for the ground and the battery) are way too big to connect to the amp. Thanks

  • @semanticssimple2053
    @semanticssimple2053 5 лет назад +1

    Do not use a self tapping screw to connect your ground. Use a bolt, a nut and a lock washer. Otherwise your ground will work its way loose and your amp will stop working.

    I always thought that the power wire was supposed to be by itself. I didn't know that you could run the power and remote wire together. I have one question. How do i go about running aftermarket speaker wires for my car doors? I have an aftermarket amp for the door speakers. Do i have to route the speaker wires under the rug? Or do i have to remove the panel and routed it through the headliner of the vehicle to avoid it being near the power and signal cables?

    • @rmblwgn
      @rmblwgn 6 лет назад +1

      If anyone sees this... BUY "9 CONDUCTOR WIRE". Seriously it will save you ripping up your car and fucking up all the trim. Its one fat wire with 8 speaker wires and 1 turn on wire inside. Run it behind your radio WITH the rca and connect it to your aftermaker speaker adapter which is an oem plug---->8 speakers wires +12v,12v switched, ground. Then run the wire to your 4 channel amp and you have all the speaker wires right there, NO NEED TO RUN NEW WIRE!

    the amp is a Pioneer GM A5602 Class AB 2‑Channel. and the subs say 4ohm. they were prewired to 2ohm

    • @connectedcaraudio
      @connectedcaraudio  9 лет назад

      +Tim Osness okay so the amp is okay to be bridged but that's at a final ohm of 2 ohms but since you wire the subs together then bridging at the amp you end up with a 1 ohm load which that Amp can't handle correctly. I would take one of those subs and put it on a ported box and bridge it down at the amp for a final 2 ohm load. Or get a Mono block Amp a mono block Amp is a one channel Amp and what ever you wire your subs for that what the amp will see. So wire your subs in parallel for a 2 ohm load and put it on the mono block Amp

      Usually I will insert a peice of mdf a little bit larger than the amp under the carpet . then I will screw the amp to the wood .if the board moves around I will usually shoot a short screw through the mdf into the metal of the seat

    Hi sketch you said the ones were to big to fit into the amp? Can you shave them down? Cut them on the ends? Or bend then in so they fit into the amp connections? You can also go bare wire in line I did with the connections in this video.. And I think you said you had a hard time putting the power wire on the main battery?

    really nice video. but why do you connect the ground to the car chassis? isnt that dangerous? wouldnt a cable going back to the battery be safer?

    • @connectedcaraudio

      In car audio the ground is almost always connected to the chassis. Only time it is ran to the battery is on some vehicles like corvette where the body is mainly fiberglass or boats where it's the same concept.

      +connectedcaraudio thanks for the reply!! but even in high wattage systems? wouldnt that create eletroestatic energy?

    Great video. But I don't lie to run any wires along with the power. Normally when I do an install I run the power by itself and all the others wires on the opposite side from the power so you don't risk melting a wire and causing a fire.

    Awesome video, I'm currently installing a sundown audio 8" sub for a Hhifonics amp and I believe my problem atm is I wired the amp turn on wire to the wrong wire behind the stereo. I'm new to this so I did some studying but obviously not enough cause my shit isn't working. I bough a amp wire install kit, and The RCA are the normal red/white, but the Amp turn on wire is black, so I put it with the black wires behind the stereo. My amp doesn't power on, go figure. So I'm going to rewire that black amp turn on wire to the blue with white strip wire behind the stereo. An hopefully my shit turns on. PS: I'm also installing this in a Toyota Corolla 2010.

      Not sure if you got it figured out but usually the remote wire coming off the headunit says remote wire on it or amp power

      Make sure that your battery is still able to hold a charge and a good voltage. Once a battery good dead it never really is the same afterwords unless it's a deep cycle battery. Check the voltage of your battery when the car is running it should be about 14.4 volts and 12.4 volts when the car is off. Maybe have auto zone check your battery for you or use a meter and test it

    Question on your amp settings. What if you are connecting 4 door speakers and 2 subwoofers to your amp? How does it work then if you want bass on just the subwoofers but high frequencies on the vocal door speakers? Could you use a bass volume knob and then not have to worry about the settings on the amp for the low pass and high pass?

    my mechanics didnt use fuse holder, they just bent the wire with battery part. do u think there is a chance of spark or is it dangerous ? i used pioneer champion series 1200 watt and pioneer 8150d amp 1000 watt.

    • @connectedcaraudio
      @connectedcaraudio  10 лет назад

      yes its dangerous because if you have a short in the wire any where down the line all the way to the amplifier it will run up and the line and short out your battery ,this will cause you to buy a new battery and possibly a new alternator.get this fixed as soon as possible. dont wait

    so i have an after market head unit and After market front and rear speakers. I had to splice the blue wire from the head unit to the after market wiring harness blue white cable because the directions said. i may have the colors mixed up but i no i Already spliced the remote blue white cable to another cable that is inserted into the head unit. Am I supposed to undo that?And connect the power on amp cable to the head unit? or do i splice all three together? sorry if it's confusing.

    Is to much of a fuse in the fuse holder by the battery post bad or good?

    any reason I cant run all 4 speaker wires from the amp to the speaker harness and connect all at one spot rather that spend gobs of time having to run wire to every speaker?

  • @spiralnapkin
    @spiralnapkin 8 лет назад

    so, to be clear, for amplifying door speakers, I run the speaker wire from the amp straight to the speakers right? so I won't be using the existing wires from my head unit to the existing speakers, correct?
