Very interesting video. This got me thinking: it all really feels like another economy is being created. What you explained (the ups and downs of a market, people lending things (NFT) to barter it with something else) is litteraly how many economies started (look at the USA for exemple, which used shellfish at their beginning as their fiat currency). Yes it looks dodgy right now, but I feel like it's the beginning of something brighter and better.

First things first "art" nft's are one small use case for nft's. it seems to be all people focus on but fractionalized ownership is the big play which is just in the beginning stages.
What about veve? They are NFTs but have nothing to do with jpegs. Just your usual Marvel and Disney collectibles in AR

the price of the underlying crypto(eth, solana, cardano) is highly disconnected from the floor price of the nfts on those chains. For example. Currently ethereum has recovered almost 100% up from the lows of 800-900 and yet nft floor prices are still falling. Solana is also semi recovering but always hits resistance at 47ish usd so then comes back down to 40 and again, solana nft floor prices are going down. So if NFTs die, dont worry, the crypto price wont death spiral with them
I don't think the underlying crypto are that disconnected from these NFT's, you don't expect NFT to recover as fast as the 'underlying Crypto' since NFT is a bigger bubble, plus I don't think the 'underlying crypto' has really recovered, I think it's just a retracement before it resumes the downtrend. Plus this leveraged NFT...I'm just getting to find this out

This is dope. Not the situation (which I don't think is a huge deal tbh), but you know a lot of the popular tools and seem to know a good amount about them. Tbh I feel like you have been watching the space for a little while haha. Buying a BAYC at these prices aint bad at all. Either all NFTs go to 0 or BAYC and Punks eventually become the grails of the NFT space in the future once the market recovers and go to 1M+. I hold 4 mutants and will be buying a BAYC very soon. Glad to see you getting into this space. Been watching you for years and can attribute a lot of my success to watching your vids early on.

Personal I think that you are correct near the end that it’s a potential buy point, and correct that ETH shouldn’t be liquidated so I would suggest 1/3 of holdings be converted to one of the higher profile projects with great potential for bounce back because the dip had been so deep. Furthermore to hedge the losses in ETH dip purchase 1/3 in new money and also put that into said project. This would result in a new 50/50 split and hedge strategy and maintaining safer risk of loss or potential loss of profit.
As dumb as it sounds nfts make sense to me. Take for example the mona lisa, it is worth well over 100 million despite the fact that most people have seen what it looks like. There are individuals that would argue that you haven't appreciated its beauty unless you've seen it in person but if were going to be real about it that's a bunch of bologna. If you see a screen shot or see it in person it's the same thing at the end of the day. Having the original is what gives it value. Some cat burglar may have stolen it at some point and replaced it with a Chinese knockoff and the knockoff is still worth over 100 million where as the original wouldn't even get you $20 at a pawn shop unless it is proven as the original. With nfts you have a clear history of who the actual owner is and you are directly a consumer of the artists art. In a way it is the ultimate flex.

It’s not “free” money. They borrowed at 40% of the value of the NFT at the origination of the loan. Meaning they could have sold the NFT at that point and had 2,5 times more money instead of a worthless NFT. Also, the lending companies will try to liquidate before the value drops below the 40% (if possible) so the owner would still pay more than he got in the loan. If there is a crash and he could by it below the value he got from the loan, that doesn’t mean he’s off the hook for repaying the loan. It depends on the contract that was signed.

Cryptos, stocks, bonds etc.. are highly dependent on liquidity. The Fed is tightening liquidty and wants deflation with higher interest rates.

@@tannnerrr yes, liquidity as in easier money to access. Rates go up lending gets tighter. Cash becomes king if you have the dry powder to scoop up depreciated assets when they drop and blood is on the steets as they say.

Great video! I believe 99% of NFT projects that havent been diyng already will be diying in the upcoming months/ years. because pretty much all of them are only build on hype, cool designs and some utility the outer world doesnt really care about. Thats why I only invest in projects that can offer major brand deals. Something big like official Marvel, DC, StarWars, Disney, Sony Pictures, Warner Bros, Givenchy, .... One project for example that is able to combine all these big hitters below one roof is VEVE. No one will remember a NFT project with literal rocks going for $20k in 20 years + ...BUT most people will remember something iconic like Spiderman, Mickey Mouse or Superman. ATM I'm focussing on these only. VEVE is set up for mass adoption longterm also because you dont even need to know anything about crypto or NFTs to get started and collect your favourite characters.
The whole point is though that NFTs aren't JUST jpgs. Sure that was the easiest application for NFT so that's what they started as but NFTs are moving into other areas of life where they have much better utility. Gaming for instance. Buy a NFT in a game and take that NFT into any game that supports it.

etherium could become worthless with 3 forks and charging 35eth for node processing / stake pool operations. and making them hold for 6mo/1yr after the fork before rewards which means no compounding in that time. and the fact after the fork no gas fee's will be changed
i went from eth to solana... sadly... then to cardano. look at the distribution of cardano and the amount of (non locked) staked activity. a sleeping giant

From multi-sig transactions, nft marketplaces, DApp development, game implementation, Non-Custodial staking of NFTs (still having control, no locking), supportive community, speedy transactions, has yet to have a major hack, and overall the most decentralized coin i can find in terms of distribution + adoption. ive personally had success on SOL and ADA, not so much eth. i can say ada has been very very kind the past year despite the market drop, still sitting in a extremely comfortable position. + with the vasil fork combinator, a pretty good swing trade for the short term hype if thats what youre looking for.
