I just started mining this month and you have to decide what coin you want to hold long-term. for me that's doge. When your mining you get a set amount of coins for the computer's power no matter the price of the coin. So each month it will be out of pocket for electricity and the miner if you get more most likely you will sit on unrealized gains until the big cashout at the desire coin price. Also, remember miners are assets themselves and they can hold and increase in value as time goes if you don't overclock too much
You can buy an electricity usage monitor which just plugs in to the wall socket then plug everything into that, convert the KWH usage over 24 hours by the costs your provider charges. I’ve got friends who were mining it and barely making a profit with electricity costs and the repayments on their rig costs (5 year finance with 0% interest) but I guess after 5 years when it’s paid off they own their rig ($20,000 AUD, but probably only worth $3000-4000 after it’s paid off) plus the potential of the coins rising. It’s a risky move but hopefully pays off in the long run!
You need to under volt the 3090's. They will run fine at the same hash rate but run much cooler. Since those are FE edition cards should also swap the thermal pads and make sure new thermal paste is on there too. Probably smarter to simply buy a few bitcoins too.

You might want to make a new wallet and send all your existing and new coin deposits to it, because at 7:57 there seems to be a recovery key, and anyone can use that to take control of the wallet addresses that it generates. Editing it out of the video isn't enough, because anyone who already copied it down will be able to still use it. You'd need to make sure to use an entirely new one and move your coins to it, and keep it locked up tighter than your bank and investment account logins.
Your 500 day calculation doesn't take into account that mining becomes more difficult over time. In a year, it will be significantly more difficult to mine and your profitability will be even longer.
And I also wish he had mathed out the eletricity cost. Plus talked about the mean time to failure of the hardware, calculating the depreciation cost there as well.

But they then charge 45 cents a kilowatt when you draw energy (common at evening time). This happens to many people and this completely defeats the purpose of going green for the financial incentives for them and they may never be able to be profitable with it. Even worse they have made it difficult or illegal to disconnect the home from the grid and use a solar system with batteries (e.g. Tesla Powerwall)! It is still worth trying to defect/disconnect from the grid, people have done it and won! These energy companies have too much power! Know your rights and fight for them! Look up "color of law" "grid defection" "solar mandate" "solar permitting electrical code" "title 24" "AB 1139 net energy metering (NEM)." "The Utility Reform Network (TURN)" Good luck!
