    About Me 👩🏽
    Hi, I'm Akta :) I'm trying to find more meaning in my relationships, work, and life in general, because I think there's more to it than what society tells us. I try to approach things in a less overwhelming way, because I think there's already so much pressure on us from society.

    I am very much a part of the 99% percent you referenced early on the video. I've also spent a lifetime of lurking and observing other people's content whilst being a bystander in my life. I don't ever comment on videos but for some reason felt a compelling urge to do so today. Mainly I just wanted to say honestly keep going as everything you put out resonates with me on a deep level, and therefore, I feel there is large number of other people for which this is the case also. From someone who has watched a lot of RUclipsrs over the years, particularly in the self-help space, you definitely have a niche here; and that niche is you being unapologetically the authentic you. Your content feels very refreshing, original and empowering. Gone off on a bit of tangent but yeh just wanted to give some positive encouragement :).

    • @Akta
      @Akta  Год назад +5

      Wow thank you so much KP, I really appreciate that you’ve moved into the 9% to leave this comment here. Thank you so much for saying this, niche is something I have consistently struggled with on RUclips, so for you to say this is really reassuring. I’m so happy that you resonate with the content I make, and I hope you feel inspired to take centre stage of your own life (whatever that means for you) 🤗🤗

    I used to be a loner changing schools all the time (in foster care) and I didn't have quality friends(they were selfish and boring). After I started volunteering I met other former foster kids (who value friendships more since they don't come from greatest families). I met my best friend there and then I started socializing with ppl at my new job. I have so many great friends now I never feel alone like we can just walk into eachother houses now I'm super picky about who I let into my life or who's going to be worth it to take my time away from my friends. They were always there for me when I had mental breakdowns at the hospital(anxiety) and they all have different interests so I'm never bored when I wanna go hiking or travel. I don't even care about romantic relationships cause I always have something else to do (50% of time they don't work out or are cheating or abusive anyways). Only invest in those family or friends who have your best interest at heart life's too short to be unhappy

    Wow! Just wow! I enjoyed every word you and others shared about overcoming your fears and take a chance to put yourselves out here on RUclips and social media.. It takes me way back when I decided to upload my first video, I had so many fears of people judging the way how I talk. 2 years later I have a team who supports what I do and viewers who watches our content has told us that we personally saved / changed their lives for the better. Point I'm trying to say is, continue to make quality content because your content helps others like me who watches your videos. Thank you Akta!

    Hi Akta! This video moves me so much because now I see how many opportunities I have wasted in my life. You've put yourself out there and now your actions result in spectacular rewards, for example reaching out to Ali, Lana and Matt. Not many people would dare to do so due to the fear of rejection. You have grown so much. I found you on Lana's channel over a year ago and if it were not for her I would have never found you.

    I literally couldn't relate more to this video. I've been the 99% of people, and within the last year to 6 months, I've finally been working to begin to make changes. After years of crippling fear and anxiety about what others might think of me, I'm finally learning that what WE think of ourselves, is what matters in the end. The relationship we have with ourselves, is arguably the most important. It's been my dream to move new york city for the longest time, but was terrified of what my family would think if I told them I was moving away. But now, as of 2 months ago, I moved back home with them to prepare, and it's my goal to be there next spring. To my surprise, although they think it's scary that I'm moving, they're supportive. In my head I thought they'd freak out. Life is messy, it's not meant to be perfect, but in that beautiful mess is where we learn. You nailed it with this in saying that we learn by doing. I've already said a lot, but clearly this video inspired me a ton. So, thanks so much for your content, and congrats on your journey, this will help so many people who see this video 😌 excited to see where you go from here!

    Love this Akta 💜 It's so hard to put yourself out there...especially if you get rejections! Or fail...multiple times! But you need to keep doing it over and over...until you get that one "yes"! I'm currently applying and interviewing for jobs as a new grad NP and it has been so emotionally crushing--especially as someone who has been "successful" throughout my academic career. You need to remind yourself, "I only have control over my actions and inputs. NOT the outcomes." So you just keep showing up, being consistent, hoping something sticks... And this is true for any venture! To anyone who is putting themself out there and feeling the discomfort--keep at it! We got this 💪

I’m so grateful to Ali for helping give me the confidence to start my channel and putting myself out there. Although I am an attorney in Hollywood and work on high-level deals, I am an introvert at hear but I wanted to create a community and I wanted to give back. I always want to give back. I had a video go viral this week and it was like a dream come true but I’ve already recorded two videos since then and it’s such a dream that I get to be a storyteller now. Because 20 years ago I went to university to be an English major novelist but decided to go to law school because it was practical and as an immigrant, oldest child I had to take care of my parents and siblings. Thank you for all that you do and know that your videos provide so much value and that you are amazing for putting yourself out there. ❤❤You have a lot of fans-keep going!

    I saw one of the comments I made from a year ago under one of your videos and it served as an instant reminder of how much I changed, so I though I would comment on this one because perhaps I'll stubble on this comment in the future and reflect back on who I was in this current moment.
    I have wanted to start making education content on youtube for over 3 years now but never actually did. I decided that I want to start to do so after I finish submitting my application for university, and if no one sees the content then so be it. I definitely am the kind of person that looks at other peoples' lives and wonder if I could be them - perhaps not because they are more fortunate than me or have brighter futures than I might but just because they've been through more than I have been. Perhaps it's one of my mum's friends whose already married and has kids, her life seems to be sorted for her, or it's a child who can still play and not worry about having responsibilities and stress, or it's my younger self that could've done more or taken different choices in her life. Perhaps it's me mourning for my younger self and her decisions, I want to be her, yet the more I grow up the more I want to go back to the day or week or year before to make things right.
    I am currently on a gap year and I don't know if it was the right decision to take. I am reapplying to Medicine yet I am unsure it is what I really want to do, or if I will even be getting in. I feel stressed about the quality of my application but more scared that it was because I didn't try hard enough, because I didn't study enough, or because I didn't plan well enough. I know that no matter what maybe it was meant to be. Maybe I will look back at this comment and think that taking a gap year was the best decision of my life or that not getting into medicine was better than getting into it. Perhaps everything will somehow work out and I will understand that every decision I took made me who I am and that I could also make different decisions to change parts I may dislike about myself.
    To comfort myself I like to think that my future, older self had somehow figured out how to travel back in time and change the past to make all the right choices, and that she had chosen to come to this moment - today, right now. It's comforting to know that I could still make a difference in my life and that no matter what that everything could fall into place. Life will keep on going no matter what choices I make or how much work I do or how much I stress about what I am and what I am not doing - life will carry on.
    If anyone read this I'm sorry about how long it was pahahhahh but I hope you enjoyed!

    • @Akta
      @Akta  Год назад

      Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts Monya, it actually reminded me of some of the thoughts I had in my last video (to anyone feeling lost). The thing that I’ve come to realise is that I need to start valuing my present self more than my future/past self who don’t exist- it’s my present self that can make the best decisions because only I know what I want/need/value right now. So the choices you’re making now - if they’re what you really want, then you don’t have to worry about if you change those in the future, because at any one time you’re just valuing your present self enough to do what she wants :)
