I kinda disagree with your choices. I think the 24-105 f4L ii should be in this mix as an all around lens with great range and capturing wonderful landscape at 24mm and great portrait at 70-105 mm. For an all around walking lens, it's hard to beat this lens with it versatility.
Great video! Thanks. I have the 50mm F/1.4 and like the extra stop. More $$ though. The 17-55 F/2.8 is my absolute favourite for indoors, family events, and the like. I just got the 70-200mm. F/4 IS II L and I just LOVE it. Too cold to go outside and shoot a bunch yet, but soon.
If you a photographer, and know how to use lens and camera, doesn't matter which one you have, i have 35mm, 50mm,have zoom 18-55,70-300,make perfect setup, and it's does work
What's yout criteria? I would never recommend an EF-S lens. Lenses are a lifetime investment that will span many camera bodies, so it is best to always go for the full frame variant. The 24-70 mm f2.8L is a very worthwhile investment and better choice than the 17-55 APS-C lens. I would also recommend the 50mm 1.4 as the 50 to get. The 50 1.2L is better on center, but less sharp at the edges than the 1.4 for example at lower Apertures. Once you get to f4.0 pretty even. The 1.2 isn't worth the 4 times multiple in price. The 1.2 85mm over the 1.8 is hard to argue, except for the weight and bulk. The 85mm 1.2L is probably Canon's best lens.
For APS-C cameras EF-S lenses are generally the better choice. Not all EF lenses perform well on APS-C, and when it comes to general purpose zooms the focal range of EF lenses suck on APS-C. Besides they are often quite unnecessarily expensive. Lenses are longer term investments than cameras, yes. But certainly not lifetime investments. I own (and loved) several EF lenses from the film age whose sharpness just aren't good enough for modern cameras. So much for "lifetime". If you KNOW you're going to "upgrade" to full frame very SOON and KNOW where the money's going to come from, then I agree: buy EF. But if you only THINK that some day you'll go full frame and you also hope to marry and have kids - which is going to suck up a lot of cash for much more important purposes than photography, then do not buy EF (unless there are no EF-S options). Those who invested in EF a few years ago and now realise that if they ever move to full frame it's going to be mirrorless, and that the new RF lenses are better than their EF lenses, well they might realise that their EF glass wasn't really much of a lifetime investment. And very importantly: most APS-C users never buy full frame. Personally I don't even want full frame. If someone offered to give me an R5 for free, I'd say no thank you, because it would create a need for lenses that I could never afford.
Agree that you need a 50mm lens but I feel the 50mm f1.4 is far better in quality than the 1.8. I also prefer the 70-200mm f2.8 and the 24-70mm f2.8 and lastly the 16-35mm f2.8. I also like the 85mm f1.8 but I rarely use it however I keep it for random photography at leisure I haven`t used it for weddings or events .. I tend to stick to 50mm f1.4 and 24-70mm f2.8, and occassionally the 70-200mm f2.8 for getting detail when I`m a distance away from the Client eg; photos of the Bride and Groom exchanging vows and putting on wedding bands. I also use the Canon 6D and Canon APS-C 1500d
Hmm... I disagree with this list. Your best 4 lenses are the EF 24-70mm f2.8L II, EF 70-200mm f2.8L II/III, EF 35mm f/1.4L II & EF 50mm f/1.2L lenses. All Luxury lenses with great sharpness BUT they are expensive... lol

I dropped my SL2 :( and just bought a 90D. I want that EF 85mm f1.2L II USM but the price is way too high for my budget (even used). Anything like it but cheaper?
I'm in a dilemma to decide my first full frame from my good ol' 70 D. I already own a 70-200 USM ii lens. Would the use of an adaptor for 70-200 USM ii on a mirror less frame compromise image quality? Will you get the same result as with a Mark IV? As of now, I'm more inclined towards a Mark IV. What's your take on this?
No, adapting a lens onto a mirrorless body does not change the image quality at all - you'll get the exact same result. Just bear in mind that the 45 mp sensor of the R5 is going to put higher demands on the sharpness of lenses than the 30 mp sensor of the 5d4. But any lens that's sharp enough on your 70D should be sharp enough on any full frame camera up to at least 50 mp. What you do is your choice, but I'd just stick to the wonderful 70D. Or maybe upgrade to the even better 90D (as I did). But that sensor puts much higher demands on lens sharpness. No lens will perform any worse on it, but some might not be able to make full use of the high resolution sensor, so if you pixel peep the images may look soft. Your 70-200 should be alright, though.
85mm is great for APS-C sensor DSLR? It can survive drops with all that glass and weight? It's an excellent lens for portraits but would prefer it on a full frame as it is designed for. Also why so random recommendations? You go from one of the best bang for dollar 50mm 1.8 STM (also why show two versions of it instead of just the STM version?) then go to professional 85mm 1.2 L II instead of the 85mm 1.8 USM? Then you recommend an EF-S lens for APS-C sensor only and then recommend 70-200mm f4 instead of 2.8? I am so confused... What is your criteria for these recommendations? Are these lenses what you own? So confusing...
So you gave us the 4 best canon lenses for 2020 and one of them is the EFS1755...maybe you should rename the video to something like '4 best lenses for your crop sensor canon 2020'

I just bought a canon eos 2000d and I’m interested in getting another lens soon and I’m happy with what I have from when I bought it. But I have been taking moon pictures from my other camera that was a point and shoot I was able to get my moon shots just fine. But the other night I was trying to experiment with the lens and they came out blah. What do you recommend for a lens for moon shots and also sunrises/sunsets?
Get a telephoto for the moon, the longest the best, the more expensive the best, believe me, is not the same a Canon 50mm f/1.8 for $150.00 if you compare with 50mm 1.2 L that cost $1500.00
I wouldn't take a "review" that uses footage of the legacy EF 50mm f/1.8 instead of the EF 50mm f/1.8 STM seriously if it doesn't acknowledge the fact. They are two different products. The legacy lens is not accurate or precise in terms of focus. I have tried multiple copies and on a crop sensor body, this problem is very bad.
Hi, I like your video very much... I am planning to start my RUclips channel for education videos.. And planning to buy m50 but distance between camera to my sitting position is maximum 4 feet.. Can you plz suggest me which lens will be best for me.. is 50 mm lens is good for my case or 10- 18 mm lens or any other lens? I have no idea about photography and waiting for your reply.. Thanks in advance...
Who wrote this and where was the editor? As one example of bad writing, the speaker says. “There is a lot of glass contained in this lens due to the fast maximum aperture.” What nonsense. It would be correct to say, “The fast aperture of this lens required an extensive construction of top quality glass elements.”

keep the mark IV and use prime L lenses or the 24-70 2.8L II

I got the canon 35mm EF 1.4L Mark 1 50MM F1.2L 85MM EF 1.8 70/300MM EF 4/.5.6L 10/20MM EF 3.5/4.5 16/35MM F4L 18/135 EF MM ISM

hi P R...

i have one canon A-1 digital videocamera with Hi8mm videotape...
oh it is not working
J C, can you show me a picture of what that lens would like? I have the t7 canon.
What’s the difference between EF and RF lenses. Can I use RF on my canon 5D Mkii
EF lens for the EOS camera (forexample: Canon eos 5D Mark 1,2,3,4) RF lens for just R6 series ... etc
@@munguntuulbatbayar9471 thank you.
Are these lens fit in any model of canon cameras?
these are made for mostly crop frame cameras. not fullframe
research before buying
Decent video, but it would be best if your video title stated "EF" or "RF" lenses!!!
50mm/1.8 lense is dual focus or not?
Dual pixel AF is your camera focusing censor, not the lens. The lens AF only interact with what's in your camera censor
I got the canon 50mm F1.2L and i paid £490.00 for it second hand and Is boxed and I used to have the canon 50mm F1.4 lens
Superb...
Love this video. It's really detailed. Thanks a lot for the content
I love it when the yt channel makes fake accounts to put up comments
What does f mean?

many cameras with lens are still problem with bad blur focus and blur depth of field
i got the canon 50MM EF f1.2L and i paid £490.00 for it second hand is BOXED
Very informative 👍
did anyone hear him say "canon 70-200 milliliter" 7:30
Who wrote this and where was the editor? As one example of bad writing, the speaker says. “There is a lot of glass contained in this lens due to the fast maximum aperture.”
What nonsense. It would be correct to say, “The fast aperture of this lens required an extensive construction of top quality glass elements.”
Interesting selection -
Can ef 85 mm 1.2 usm be used in Canon M50 Mirrorless ?
Yes, with an EF-M adapter.
🔥🔥🔥👑🦅
I also got the Canon EF 85MM F1.8 And is good
his is a 1.2.. more expensive with wider aperture and more blurry backgrounds
and yet 85 1.4 is much sharper than the 1.2
