This is the major problem with exclusivity deals on Games for Franchises. When there is zero competition there is NO incentive for the developers or publishers to make an actual good product because they know the players have literally no other choice.....this has happened with FIFA, Madden, NFL, NBA, WWE etc..... it’s almost like there’s a continuous pattern of terrible quality when companies have a monopoly on a franchise

I put the blame 100% on the football fans that refuse to put their foot down. Like NBA and WWE fans, they just buy the same regurgitated shit every single year regardless of how recycled and lazy these titles have become. All they want is their roster update and menu screen update for fresh colors and they're happy until the next game apparently.
Anyone who buys these games are exacrly the problem.
They are an abused fan base i guarantee you if some other triple A company made basketball football and soccer then 2k would file for bankruptcy and ea would move on and probably sell the rights to madden
So glad I never became a sports game fan because if I had known this was my future as one then just about anyone would commit suicide with how bullshit this is. I admit to avoiding EA Battlefront 1 but brought Battlefront 2; despite all the effort put into it after the problems it caused, I doubt anyone can say it wasn’t fun because it was, but at least it was different & not recycled for years with the bare essentials to update the series each time to “legally” pass off as a new title. I suffer the effort of going back to League of Legends with rusty skills than attempt to pick a copy of Madden. Why have a system to create your own player with actual customization since it’s first appearance only to take it away for preset faces without altering; because “Fuck you! Give money & your common sense!”

@@adad87821 not necessarily. Konami for example installed a feature which easily lets you download and install licenses for Pro evolution soccer. Problem is that PES gameplay isn't great as well and thus not really great competition but I think it is working as Fifa does improve slightly every year. it's definitely not worth the asking price of 60$ but still, if you buy Fifa only every 3 years or so you will definitely notice a difference

Gotta love how they show the cards of the players during the game , because you're gonna wanna c it as much as possible if you just spend 100s of $ to get those things. That's what sports games are now in days, cards first the actual game play last. Fifa is the same, it's actually worse.. so many people upload fifa pack opening... unfortunately it will never go back to the way it use to be.

I bought Madden 19 for the PS4 after having not played Madden for about 10 years. Madden 19 is still the worst game I've ever bought for a console and this crap looks worse.
I bet the reason the character customization is so restrictive is so they can recycle the old animations easier. This way they don't have to put in much effort. I would say that I wonder what Madden 22 will look like, but I think I'm looking at it right now.

With GAS, you cannot "reset" all microtransactions to zero, to force people to buy everything again every year. GAS is less profitable. Forcing people to buy everything again every year is profitable.

This is what happens when Sports organizations signs an exclusive deals with One and only *ONE* gaming company.
There's no variety. There's no differences between others because no competition. Because they are the only ones. So they can get away with pretty much selling the exact same game over and over and over again because they are the only one.
Well on the other hand it is always the same sport anyway. I mean competition would not lead to a mode where every second match is water polo... And while i understand that there is a market for sports games i don't get why one would by a yearly release on that. Is it really that important to play with the updated roster and stats of the famous Chicago-Yankee-Dolphin-Dogers ?
