    I know that all of the so-called "real" rockers/metalheads and "real" rap/hip-hop fans want to diss their music, but in the '70's (my childhood years)ABBA was a hit-making machine. Sure, it was smooth, but the production values were great. You don't score that many hits by making really bad music. Hell, ABBA is the best Swedish export since Volvo. I loved your reaction, it was like you had a throwback moment. Keep up the great work.

    This song exists within 2 points of view, or perspectives.
    One is the titular character. She is 17. There is no need to feel strange about her age with relation to an preconceived notions you have about SHOULD be happening. In fact, she is operating completely within a safe sphere (or what should be safe if the world was a gentle place) of sexual exploration: she is a tease. She is the center of attention. That's it. She is fully living her life in an appropriate way for her age and she is having fun while discovering her power and place in the world.
    The second point of view is from someone older. He or she is simply watching her from a distance. She is not "their" Queen. The observer recognizes her dominance in this setting. All eyes are on the Queen as she is beginning life with everything ahead of her.
    The viewer has lived a little and once used to be in that place to.
    Used to be.
    It is pleasureful to watch her dance in all her beauty but there is a melancholy wistfulness there too. It is reflected in the section that goes "You can dance you can jive, having the time of your life--see that girl..." as the song is both reaching a crescendo and moving from major to minor chords. Going up in intensity and down (subtly) in tone.
    Youth is sweet and fleeting.
    With the perspective that comes with age, one mourns the loss of the freshness and excitement of youth but is grateful for the ability to appreciate it and celebrate it in other people.
    This song is genius and full of magic at every level.

    • @demonslover
      @demonslover 4 года назад +3

      Third point of view you're way past the age of 17, but when you hear a good song. Maybe from your past or one that just makes you feel young again. And you're sent back in memory of the time you were 17 and had the world at your fingertips.

    history: "Anni-Frid "Frida" Lyngstad , one of the singers of the former pop cult band ABBA is probably one of the most famous Lebensborn-children. ABBA was a hugely popular "supergroup" from Sweden. They were constant chart toppers back in the day & still continues to be loved (& played) the world over. Their sound is so unique in that they don't have a signature sound really. Every song sounds different from each other as they pulled influences from all genres of music. One has a disco vibe, another has a Spanish/Flamenco sound, the next is a bouncy pop song, you just never know what ABBA is going to bust out with. Please check out - The winner takes it all, Fernando, Take a chance on me, S.O.S., Does your mother know, & Voulez-Vou. There are so many other great hits, but that little list should give you an understanding of how vastly different their music sounds & get you started down this rabbit hole. Dancing Queen was probably their biggest hit & the one most known (used in countless movies, shows, etc). By the way, the group was made up of two married couples. The brunette was married to the dude with the beard on piano/keyboard and the blonde was married to the guitar player. :-)

    06:16 I ain't gonna lie, that section was possibly the best part of the entire video. When you did "your routine on that song" you went back to that time when that Taco Bell job had you on a different grind. That kind when you forget those people who were a part of your time-line, then something pops off a memory that has you feeling in a serious way. Almost like you want to go back for a second and see the OG work crew Fam and say a few good things. I seriously felt that feeling you had at the end of your routine when you broke down, I could see it you face. Then you gave them shout outs, man that really made my day. Thanks
    Oh wait,,.. then you did that part where you swang your arms like "That's the exact dance move we had in the routine, like of course they did cause we was feeling it too!!"
    Its amazing how a song can take us to places where we can relive the exact moment back in time.
    And honeslty,.. I think we all just shared a moment. 😄

    some places age of consent ( below 18 ) might mean their legal guardians ( Parents or otherwise) have to consent first. that way their parents/ guardians can legally decide whether or not they are ready for real.
