there is no better example of crowd control. Freddie was in charge of 1 million people at that concert. I honestly do not think that any band or solo performer has ever had such mastery
The closest vocal talent has had years longer than Freddie to develop their skill. No one can imagine what beautiful vocals Freddie would've recorded if he didn't pass away and his career continued for another decade or 2.
Their performance at Live Aid is probably the greatest live performance ever. Those of us who were around at the time watched it live on TV all over the world. I especially like the "Radio Ga Ga" part. The man could have lead an army of music fans into battle if he felt like it.
I was trying to explain to my 20 year old kid how incredible that day of music was. With instant replays and access to anything at just about any time, I don't think it can be conveyed.
The meaning behind "Mama, just killed a man, put a gun against his head pulled my trigger now he's dead" has never fully been told by Freddie himself but his biographer spoke to the drummer and asked him about the meaning. He said he believes its like he's writing a letter that he killed his past self and became a new person, coming out as bisexual. “Mama” may refer to Freddie Mercury’s former partner Mary Austin, with whom he lived for about seven years. Freddie started work on “Bohemian Rhapsody” in 1972 but really got to finishing it in 1975, the same year he started his first love affair with a man. These lines may be telling Mary that he didn’t mean to hurt her, and that she should carry on with life even if he ends up leaving her; continuing the dispirited, fatalistic theme which resonates throughout the song, with lines like “Any way the wind blows” and “Nothing really matters.”
As fucked up as it sounds I find this theory more profound and impactful: The gun is the virus and he realized he may have sentenced somone to death by sleeping with them and his future is in jeopardy. I don't think he needed to kill his former self he was the same person just unleashing his true feelings.
@@MyriadofNeglect Either one could be true, sadly we'll never get the chance to hear him say it when he grows old and retires from performing. He went way too soon
He was talking about killing off his closeted self, and embracing his whole being. He mentioned it in a biopic or some footage I've seen since the movie dropped. 🤟🏽🐻
"This ain't normal". Actually darling, for Queen it was just another day at the office! The operatic section was impossible to replicate live so they didn't even try. They simply left the stage letting a backing track run, then exploded back for the climax.
@@Calinicus72 yeah, but it wouldn't be the same.... I like this way better. Something is absolutely magical about that part, that a chorus wouldn't/couldn't replicate.
He is Freddy Mercury and Indian by birth. He wrote, produced, arranged and did the vocals all by himself. Even Brian May's guitar solo was written by him. Bohemian Rhapsody is one the best and most complexed pieces of music ever written and produced and all just by one individual. He has been classed as one of the most dynamic performers and one of the best vocalist this world has ever experienced. RIP Freddy.
Freddie please, not Freddy. He was born Farrokh Bulsara, in Zanzibar, Tanzania on 5th September 1946, to Parsi-Indian parents and was sent to Boarding school in India, on his own, aged 8. He returned to Zanzibar after secondary school. He, with his family, fled the Zanzibar revolution to the UK (Feltham). ❤️Freddie❤️
Dude I've been hearing this masterpiece for 35+ yrs and I STILL get those goosebumps every single time. *"Melancholy Blues*" by him shows off his vocal skill unbelievably. 😍
@@joscar062 yeah I was just joking because he wrote that song “I’m in love with my car”. I didn’t really include anything cool in it cos it was a joke 😂
It happened at every Queen concert - Live Aid just gets all the attention because so many people experienced Queen live for the first time and didn’t realize they performed at that caliber all the time.
Freddy Mercury is the singer and arguably the greatest singer in rock history. He died of aids in 1991. Check crowd sings bohemian rhapsody, 60,000 people all singing together at a Green day concert. It's unbelievable. BTW still waiting on Dax "Killshot 2" it's brilliant 👏 and so is Mr. Video
And that's what is really up with this song. If 60,000 people go to a concert of a completely other band wait in front of the stage and this song is played, they all sing it with one voice. Close to 30 years after the man who wrote and performed this song died, which also was the end of the band. Hell, most of the people in the audience weren't even born when Freddie died. And that's what's up with this song. One of the greatest songs ever written.
I love yooooooooooo! You simply kill it with your reactions!! Seriously, THE best out there! You entertained me so much while I was at home for 3 weeks recovering from Covid. I’ll never forget you! Thanks a million!! Muuuuuuah!!

The 22 people who disliked this is freaking TONE DEAF!! This performs was once in a lifetime performance by the SPECTACULAR Freddy FREAKING Mercury and THE SPECTACULAR BAND QUEEN!!! Great reaction! You had me laughing so hard I was crying! 😂😂😂😂
Queen released Bohemian Rhapsody in 1975 on their 4th studio album A Night at the Opera. They first debuted Bohemian Rhapsody in full during the tour for their fifth album A Day at the Races. To make it fit for live performances, they cut out the intro section because that section is just Freddie Mercury (Piano and vocals) multitracking himself. So in live performances, they start with the ballad section and perform that live. After Brian May’s guitar solo, the band goes offstage and the original recorded track is played during the operatic section since there’s no way four people could sing all those parts live. After the operatic section, the band comes back on stage for the rock section and ending section which are both sung live. During the Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert, Queen performed it with Elton John and Axl Rose. Elton John sang the ballad section, the band went offstage for the operatic section, Axl Rose sang the rock section and then Elton John and Axl Rose both sang the ending section. During the early Queen+ Paul Rodgers tour, Freddie’s vocals from the 1986 Wembley Stadium Concert were on tape for the ballad section, Queen went offstage for the operatic section, Paul Rodgers sang the rock section and during the ending section, it switched between Freddie’s album vocals and Paul’s live vocals. During the later Queen+ Paul Rodgers Tour, Freddie’s vocals from the 1981 Montreal concert were on tape for the ballad section, Queen went offstage for the operatic section, Paul Rodgers sang the rock section live and during the ending section, it switched between Freddie’s Montreal vocals and Paul’s live vocals. Now with Queen + Adam Lambert, Adam sings the first verse of the ballad section while Freddie’s 1981 Montreal vocals were on tape for verse two. Then Queen goes offstage for the operatic section, Adam sings the rock section live and the ending section switches between Freddie’s 1981 Montreal vocals and Adam’s live vocals.
You make me laugh so much, “What is this guys name?” Have you never seen Waynes World? That’s how my kids learned about Freddy Mercury/Queen. I am just so happy you finally found him! 🙌🏼 ❤ 👑
It’s a theory that the man he killed in the song, was actually referring to the straight man that Freddy had been pretending to be for years!! Then him coming out to his mother!
Ummm....no. on both counts. The song came out in 1975. At that time he was still dating Mary Austin. And no. AIDS wasn't even identified until 1981 and Freddy wasn't diagnosed until 1987 The "mama just killed a man" storyline comes from a traditional English folk ballad that Freddy adapted
Not really true he was not gay but bi per Freddie. Much of the years you say he was pretending was himself figuring out who he was. This is way it’s important for kids not to be allowed to transition. One needs to experiment to found out who they are.

Bohemian /bōˈhēmēən/: A socially unconventional person involved in the arts. Named after a 19th century word for Gypsies who were thought to originate from Bohemia, modern day Czech Republic. Rhapsody /ˈrapsədē/: 1) An effusively enthusiastic or ecstatic expression of feeling. 2) (in ancient Greece) an epic poem, or part of it, of a suitable length for recitation at one time. When I hear this song I think of a man who's lived life on the edge of what society deems acceptable. Someone who has experienced the highest of highs and the lowest of lows life has to offer and now has reached the end of his life, regretting the choices that led him to take someone's life. It reminds me a lot of the kind of thing you'd hear in an opera about a man who became a murderer. The similarity to an operatic performance is strengthened by the chorus where the main character of the song argues and pleads for his life justifying his actions to an invisible chorus of (I'm sure there's a technical term for it in German or Italian) Fates/Judges... fantastic performance and you were right to recognize the incredible talent and brilliance of the composition and performance of this song.
"Oh man, this is taking a twist, this is taking a twist. Hold on, let me catch up" Twists arounds... OMG you had me crying of laughter. EPIC reaction! Welcome to the greatest song ever made. I hope in the meanwhile you have had also a chance to see the original video of it :)

Freddie Mercury “The GREATEST vocalist of all time”
Another legend gone too soon!!
The closest vocal talent has had years longer than Freddie to develop their skill. No one can imagine what beautiful vocals Freddie would've recorded if he didn't pass away and his career continued for another decade or 2.
Queen - four individually world-class musicians, and together - out of this world.
Queen is one of the greatest! Your comment shed light to the deeper meaning of the song. Kudos to you.
Thank You for the explanation
"This ain't normal". Actually darling, for Queen it was just another day at the office! The operatic section was impossible to replicate live so they didn't even try. They simply left the stage letting a backing track run, then exploded back for the climax.
Queen's "normal" was "extraordinary" to us mere mortals!
Yep, it was an excellent way to do it live!
I suppose nowadays, in theory, they COULD bring in a choir for that part.
@@Calinicus72 yeah, but it wouldn't be the same.... I like this way better. Something is absolutely magical about that part, that a chorus wouldn't/couldn't replicate.
“I like this dude, right here!”
I can promise you that Freddie would have loved you too... in every way lol
RIP Freddy.
He was born in Tanzania, East Africa before moving to the UK as a boy, not India.
Parsi, not Indian. He went to boarding school in India.
❤️Freddie❤️
Thx you 🙏🏾 Chrissie Lord...💁🏾♀️ finally sombody who'd gotten it right✌🏾!
Both his parents were Persian (zoroastrians). Freddie considered himself as Persian. end of story
Dude I've been hearing this masterpiece for 35+ yrs and I STILL get those goosebumps every single time. *"Melancholy Blues*" by him shows off his vocal skill unbelievably. 😍
Oh. It's not just Freddy.
Brian May, dude on guitar?
He's a real legit astrophysicist.
Roger Taylor was the dude on the drums. He’s in love with his car or something
@@sarah-janemccall562
You forgot to mention he was a dentist
And Deacon was an electrical engineer
@@joscar062 yeah I was just joking because he wrote that song “I’m in love with my car”. I didn’t really include anything cool in it cos it was a joke 😂
It's FreddIE. Not Freddy. -_-
All were highly educated with degrees...
I haven’t laughed this hard in a very long time. Thank you for this!
“I don’t think this could ever happen again..”
Live Aid says hello.
Do it! The whole thing! Freddie was a diamond amongst pebbles mate.
It happened at every Queen concert - Live Aid just gets all the attention because so many people experienced Queen live for the first time and didn’t realize they performed at that caliber all the time.
Oh man, this dude reacting to 20 minutes of pure Queen gloriousness? Gotta see that.
Here's the link: ruclips.net/video/TkFHYODzRTs/видео.html
"the 21 minutes that changed the world", talk about stealing the show.
This guy knows how to put on a show...
Freddy would be chuckling
Freddie*
Freddie!
Amen! He was one of the best show men of all time! God rest his soul!
Video
Freddie*
Mike is right, 60k people singing that song, it’s insane. You wanna talk about goose bumps.... you’ll feel em in your soul. It’s brilliant ⚡️
Timon, I wanted to type all that out but I was being lazy. Lol.
I love yooooooooooo!
You simply kill it with your reactions!! Seriously, THE best out there! You entertained me so much while I was at home for 3 weeks recovering from Covid. I’ll never forget you! Thanks a million!! Muuuuuuah!!
I love ♥️ this reaction!!! I've watched several times!😍 Freddie Mercury always exceptional!!!💛🔥🔥🔥🔥
Freddie Mercury was a genius. He wrote his songs and music. It was a huge loss of a talented man. I cried.
I cried too
I still cry inside
it makes me so happy to see him react with such amazement and get all those goosebumps at the same time as all of us...we're all connected
Freddie Mercury was a BEAST in the music world. His life had some rough spots, but he certainly made sure people remembered his name. RIP Freddie. Such a loss.
That was one of the best reaction videos ever. Period. Thank you so much
"Who is this guy?"

The 22 people who disliked this is freaking TONE DEAF!! This performs was once in a lifetime performance by the SPECTACULAR
Freddy FREAKING Mercury and THE SPECTACULAR BAND QUEEN!!! Great reaction! You had me laughing so hard I was crying! 😂😂😂😂
Kimberly Grimm: Yep, they gotta be the most ignorant people on earth! How can ANYONE NOT love this song and music???
The singer, the artist, the showman that is Freddie Mercury. Blessed are those who grew up with his music. You sweet, sweet man, you're sorely missed.
i wish bands today could get crowds to rock out to the level that bands like Queen did
Queen released Bohemian Rhapsody in 1975 on their 4th studio album A Night at the Opera.
13:31 “This ain’t normal” That’s what Bohemian stands for
You should react to queen playing at live aid. Freddie Mercury has some of the best crowd control ever
Freddie the greatest show man to ever grace the stage - gives me tingles every single time! Beautiful reaction x
You make me laugh so much, “What is this guys name?” Have you never seen Waynes World? That’s how my kids learned about Freddy Mercury/Queen. I am just so happy you finally found him! 🙌🏼 ❤ 👑
Freddie Mercury was definitely one of the greatest showman! held his crowd in his hand.
“Did he go to heaven?!” 😭😭😭yes he did my friend, yes he did
And if he didn't, who among us ever would?
That’s Freddie Mercury with Queen!

I doubt your god likes homosexuals. This song is about his homosexual experience. Haha
It’s a theory that the man he killed in the song, was actually referring to the straight man that Freddy had been pretending to be for years!! Then him coming out to his mother!
Ummm....no. on both counts. The song came out in 1975. At that time he was still dating Mary Austin. And no. AIDS wasn't even identified until 1981 and Freddy wasn't diagnosed until 1987
The "mama just killed a man" storyline comes from a traditional English folk ballad that Freddy adapted
Not really true he was not gay but bi per Freddie. Much of the years you say he was pretending was himself figuring out who he was. This is way it’s important for kids not to be allowed to transition. One needs to experiment to found out who they are.
Metaphorically his mom killed him.
This is totally made up...
Never knew that, thanks for sharing. Definitely gives an already incredible song additional depth.
I love you and your reactions. You never fail to make me laugh and bring a smile to my face. Please never change!
Welcome to Freddie Mercury and the rest of the legends that comprised Queen.... please check out more Queen, you will be pleased. Their live performances are rather good.
"This is taking a twist."
*Hold on, let me catch up* -- as he spins around! Hahaha! 😂
I love when younger people open up to the classics. I love your review. Most people react to his voice, I love that you listened to the lyrics. He was a "tormented soul".
Absolutely love your reaction! You are sensitive, humble and funny. 👏👏👏 Freddie is the best singer and musician who ever set foot on this planet. Txs
Everybody loves Freddy. He was such a tragic loss to the music world dying of AIDS when it was still killing gay men at a large clip. He was a piano prodigy when young.
Why do people call him Freddy???
Freddie
This song actually was written right after he told this mother about his AIDS diagnosis.
@@amberlyarcher-txsgrl71 No, this song came out in 1975. Way before he discovered he had AIDS. A lot of people feel this was his way of coming out.
Queen is regarded as the Best live band of the twentieth century.
One of the best i'd say, Prince and Pink Floyd should be right up there too.

Dude I cant begin toexplain to you how cool this is for me being a child of the seventies and living through Queen and Freddie Mercury and watching you experience greatness for the 1st time.this is incredible Freddie is the number one vocalists in the world and the number 1 performer in the world and we lost him in 1992 to aids I'm loving watching your experience
November 24th, 1991. I remember it like it was yesterday.
Ditto, Jax!
I never knew how much I'd miss those days.
Wait till he finds out that not only is Brian May an astrophysicist, but that he's still rocking that fro!
Elvis is the greatest vocalist and greatest performer!

Only band I know of where EVERY member of the group has written a Nr.1 hit song
I'm guilty of watching this reaction like four times. It still almost brings tears to my eyes. I just love you Leo!! Thank you!!
Freddie left his heart and life on that stage. So captivating.
The French call those shivers a frisson... When you connect emotionally to a performance and you get goosebumps!
True
I've been on a Freddie Mercury binge all day yesterday...see this. I'm clicking!!!
Oh Mr Video I ain't even mad you couldn't pronounce the name...Haha! It's BRILLIANT and I was listening to their entire 20 something minute concert from Live Aid earlier today.
some needs to make a GIF of him trying to pronounce "Bohemian". I laughed so hard at the beginning, I had to rewind it like 12 times. LMAO.
SAME!!! 😂😂
I'm on it. I have a couple other memes in mind. Imma dabble a bit.
I was jumping up and down crying.........dont worry. i get it.
i’m literally screaming rn😂😂😂😂
When he said this got a twist and spun in a circle 😂
I love the fact that this song came out back in like the 1970s and till this day this is the greatest song ever made
The look on your face when the beat switches 😂
Rest in peace Freddy. We have lost practically a whole generation of brilliant musicians and performers. It's amazing.
And Freddie wrote it entirely by himself...
Brian May wrote the Bohemian Rhapsody guitar solo
@@RoverWaters wrong, Freddie played the solo on piano for Brian so that he could just transcribe it onto guitar. Brian only modified the solo slightly but most of it was Freddie's input.
Its been almost three decades and it still hurts. I love you Freddie
NOW.... watch the official video WITH earphones on!!!
I laughed so hard!
Welcome to the obsession that is Queen.
My daughter sings this song from start to finish EVERY time she hears it since she was 3. She's 22 now😁
Queen is a British Band with 4 members: Freddie Mercury (lead singer), Brian May (lead guitar), John Deacon (bass guitar) and Roger Taylor on drums. They all write hit music and they all sing better than most lead singers. They all have college degrees and Brian May has a PhD in astrophysics. Nobody like them anywhere on earth.
Brian May and his father built the guitars he used. He couldn't get the tone he wanted so he just built his own setup.
🤗🤗🤗
@@DasNuk - And John Deacon the electronics wizard and electrical engineer built him an amp nobody could duplicate to give Brian's guitar an even more unique sound.
Brian May also does work with NASA
This is very much appreciated. Just listening to them harmonize is something to consider.
Brian May the guy with the dark curly hair playing the bass is a PhD in radio physics. He still performs even though his locks are now white. He's about 75 now.
Not the bass, it's lead guitar.
You got to see Queen at Live Aid...all 25 minutes,,,it will blow your mind...its suppose to be one of the best live performances ever

If you want to see more of his magnetic personality and powerful voice live, you should watch Queen at Live Aid, it's on youtube, they did a 20 minute set for a charity concert that like a dozen other bands played at and completely stole the show.
