  • A full and detailed video of my 13 GPU mining rig build. In this video I cover the entire process of building and setting up and mega cryptocoin miner using the Asrock H110 pro btc motherboard as a the base for the build. Adding in an array of of AMD RX series graphics cards and power by two Corsair power supplies.
    Watch me through this epic build and see the problems I encountered, before finally launching a stable high performance 13 GPU miner.

    What did you use to connect 2 PSUs?
    Is that actually required or you can use 2 powered on separately, e.g. primary is powering up the MB and a card or two while the secondary PSU is used as a power source for the remaining cards + raisers etc ??

    Great video - Nice work again!
    I have a question - I have a gaming PC which I have turned into a mini mining rig (GTX 1080 & GTX 1070 - directly connected to the larger PCI express slots and powered by the standard PC express PSU cables).
    My motherboard has two spare small PCI express slot.
    If I buy an additional two GPUs, some riser cables and figure out how to mount them externally, would you be worried that the 2 existing GPUS attached to the Motherboard could be a fire hazard for the two new additional riser cables? Also, is there a way to split the existing PCI express PSU cables to power the new cards?

    • @majesticm00se
      @majesticm00se 7 лет назад +1

      IMO trade what you can once you've learnt the market e.g. shorting where possible (selling with the intention of buying back at a lower price), but there is an art to learning the market. I would then suggest avoid selling your ETH budget if you can afford to, but if not I would sell as little as possible just to cover electric costs and don't worry too much about ROI at this point. If you do want to expand on your hardware, first I would learn what it's like living with 1 operating rig, before considering a second because if you lack the space to operate these things they can start encroaching on your life e.g. heat, pets (cat fur is the worst), noise and just general size. Once you're happy with what I mentioned I would only then consider selling some ETH to re-invest, but be careful that the market's return value won't exceed the return on the rigs and what I mean by this is if you invest $1000 into ETH and markets rise and double your money consider if the rigs will be as profitable. Source for this: I have over 1GH/s of mining capability and have lived with these things for some time now. I also market trade.

    • @iptvtechy
      @iptvtechy 7 лет назад

      I found the same - As I now have 10 operational rigs, I now have a rented office, so the rigs pay for them to be housed there and I take out profit to buy more GPUs.

    • @IMineBlocks
      @IMineBlocks  7 лет назад

      The TB250 pcie layout would be much easier to work with but I've not personally used that motherboard. The pcie connectors are very close but its the pcie-usb ports that are the main problem, for this kind of setup you really need to insulate those connectors when its not required for other 6 gpu motherboards for example.

    Hi. Is it possible to use a single unit CORSAIR RMX SERIES RM1000X to make a mining rig with 13 or even 14 cards? I use rx550's cards so i am covered in concern of power consumption but i don't know what's going on with the slots on the PSU unit or if i can buy any kind of cables that doubles on slot.... Thanks

    • @IMineBlocks
      @IMineBlocks  5 лет назад

      Yes, in terms of power you should be okay to use a single 1000w psu for 13 rx550's but you will might need some extra connectors to power your risers. You could power some via the pcie and some via molex/sata but I think you might need two more. So a few 8 pin pcie to two 6 pin pcie connectors would be required.

      400 gpu... for example 1 gpu is 180Watt on 12 volt = 180\12 = 15 for 1 gpu

    Hey dude, how much power total is consuming the equipment installed, also what is the hash rate rig can get at all?

    Lee, where did you get the power connect that goes to the Motherboard and Both PSU's? I reac the HX1200i stats and it doesn't look like it comes with it and I can't find it anywhere.

    • @IMineBlocks
      @IMineBlocks  7 лет назад

      Its a separate adapter and not included with the psu. I'm using a ATX PSU adapter cable like this one amzn.to/2vcrVna

      Thank you, I'm looking to upgrade my rig to the new Motherboard but I wasn't sure how to manage that. I'm also trying Burstcoin mining but I've only got 4tb and it's not having much luck yet =) Cheers

    Hi. have been inspired to build my first rig.
    I notice that the motherboard is mounted on wood, does the motherboard not have to be earthed / grounded?
    Thank you

    • @IMineBlocks
      @IMineBlocks  7 лет назад +1

      It gets the ground via the psu. I've never had any grounding issues.

    you can power 8 GPUs on a 1000 watt PSU??? From what I was reading the RX850 operates at like 200+ watts at load. What wizardry is this? What am I missing? Thanks!

    • @IMineBlocks
      @IMineBlocks  6 лет назад

      It depends on the gpus! Most of the gpus on this rig are RX560 which use about 75W & 4 X RX470 series. The rig has 1200w & 850w psus.

    Can you help me?
    I use the same motherboard with 8 GPU 1070 with 2 power supplies, but the 8 GPU only work if I connect the 8 SATA Cables in the same power supply , if I connect 4 SATA cables in each power supply does not work, reason What do I need to do to resolve this problem?

    • @IMineBlocks

      Do the gpu fans spin when connected to the secondary supply? have you linked the two psus to each other?

    Do I need to use MOLEX inputs when I use this motherboard with 12 X RX550 graphic cards?

    • @IMineBlocks
      @IMineBlocks  5 лет назад +1

      I would use the MB Molex connectors for the best stability, though it is possible to use without them connected.

    I am planning for rig with 3 GTX 1080 ti, i know its expensive card. I just want to know will i get enough profit spending much amount on 1080ti. Suggest me if i should go with other GPU. Note: I am going to run this rig on free power. So not considering the power cost.
