- I had the opportunity to sit down with one of the partners invested in an $80,000 mining rig pulling in $6,000 -$8,000 per month. Hopefully, these answers will help anyone struggling with the idea of getting into the mining game.
Enjoy.

Thanks for making graphics cards so expensive
We need a hacker to crash the market
You're welcome.
Im scheming to buy 28 gtx 1070 or 1170. your welcome.
Straight up. This needs 1k upvotes.
My thoughts exactly! Average Joe can't afford a graphics card for gaming!
80k mining rig but can't afford a desk to place the monitor on...
true
they have a option to buy antminer but no...... they decide to buy gaming graphic card dumb people
Now you're stupid

@@Dell96kill ASICs Have WAYYYYY much higher risk associated with them, if bitcoin dies, which is the only thing the ant miner can mine, they lose all of their money spent on them because now they are a 5000 or higher dollar paperweight.
Hello, I'm new to bitcoin and I have been making huge losses but I recently see a lot of people earning from it. Can someone please tell me what i'm doing wrong

Mrs Mandy Trading Services strategies is working for me at the moment and am making good profit from Forex and crypto trading

This was really insightful! I appreciated where he said not to give up as that’s going to be more expensive than jut pushing forward. Thanks for posting this

small advice, you should get plastic folie out of card. good job guys. thumbs up
But can it run Minecraft tho
Fuck off Oli goddamn clickbait troll.
Jordan Hubbard it actually cant if you really wanna know.
Ionut Luca What really?! Why? It showed windows 10...
Jordan Hubbard it isn't built for games. Pentium cpus are for things like mining bitcoin. Despite there being a ton of power that doesn't mean it can run games. If you want more detail there are videos about this stuff on linus tech tips.
But can it run crysis?
I love how these guys act like they're mad scientists for basically running a bunch of GPUs on a Linux distro.

Well he is motivating and seems sincere sooo it's a point

Wow. Thanks so much for this. That comment about removing heat as opposed to cooling more is solid gold. Thanks so much!!!
How do you remove heat tho? I didnt get that

Could you ask Joe:
1.) When you and your partner filed for a Corporation, what business code/category did they file under?
2.) Are you actually using Coinbase as primary way to convert coins to fiat?
3.) Any issues with banks and crypto? What banks are friendly with the type of business you have?
4.) .....what can you write off on taxes with your filed business?
5.) What was your approach on choosing the location to run your miners?
5.1.) What other hidden expenses if any did you come across when starting?
6.) Would you consider being a "mentor" for those who seriously want to mirror your business?
I just dropped him a line. These are good questions - I'll circle back.
Straight from the man, himself!
1.) When you and your partner filed for a Corporation, what
business code/category did they file under? - LLC
2.) Are you actually using Coinbase as primary way to convert
coins to fiat? We are currently using Coinbase, will be experimenting with Gemini seems like we could save there.
3.) Any issues with banks and crypto? What banks are friendly with the type of business you have? LOL, we actually had several banks turn us down freaking out about the fact we were a corporation that mined cryptocurrency. We even got escalated up to a Regional Manager who turned us down. We then went to Bank of America who promptly gave us a bank account. I feel like it was more because my partner happened upon a millennial banker who scoffed when told that we were turned down at other banks as if we were money launderers. The guy happened to own cryptocurrency himself. Great question!
4.) .....what can you write off on taxes with your filed
business?
Well you certainly can write off your hardware costs, location where you are mining, gas, electricity, pretty much everything.
5.) What was your approach on choosing the location to run your miners? We happened to have access to a large area with good ventilation. Considerations should include places that have cheap electricity and dry, no exposure to humidity, and clean - dust can kill your hardware.
5.1.) What other hidden expenses if any did you come across when starting?
Expenses from mistakes like burning out cards (burned a few, we will RMA but those are costs) Electricity for testing out various configurations and optimization, finding out we needed to use SSDs instead of USB sticks (it can be done but it decreases your efficiency in various ways) Cheap hardware and wiring configurations can cause headaches, not worth it, buy quality so it doesn’t crap out and you have to buy better anyways.
6.) Would you consider being a "mentor" for those who seriously want to mirror your business? I have three business ventures I am currently running, and while under normal circumstances I would love to because this stuff is so cool and I love geeking out, I don’t think I would have the time.
If you're looking for guidance, I (BitCoinHog) wouldn't be opposed to help where I can though!
Hi BitcoinHog, I am very interested in strating a mining business, and to run it for at least next 4 years (until the difficulty becomes very uncertain!). Where can I email you? I am very interested in differents cryptos than bitcoin

AWESOME!!! Thanks for forwarding my questions. Question#1 though. LLC, I guess when registering your business, you have to align yourself with some kinda number code. I was hoping Joe would say the category number he used. I think its called a NAICS. Thx again...great response!
How did he manage to overclock the EVGA ICX cards since he has 7 GPUs per rig and Precision XOC is limited to only 4 GPUs? What software is able to adjust EVGA ICX fan speeds for more than 4 GPUs? Thanks.
And that's why is so hard to find graphics cards
Man I feel you so much Im from Belgium by the way and Im lookin' for 1070 ti right now the prices are sky high !

why should your right to game trump my right to make actual money and feed a family?
"It's more important to take heat off, than put cool air on"
This is so true.
You people are the reason graphics card prices are severely inflated and outrageous.
The prices are fine in the UK, the problem is they are all out of stock. DDR4 however is outrageously overpriced!
Outland yea now when they were in stock they were a ridiculous amount, But thanks to all the companies that make them especially Nvidea we now are only limited to either 1 or 2 depending on the websites.

Nah bruh what do you mean fine the prices are outrageous
Right!!!! All I wanna do is play GTA 5!!!!!
Looking for some guidance here. At 11:45 he refers to "taking heat off of the gpus" being more important instead of cooling them by using cold air. What could this mean? How?
Hi, wow what a great set up, well done. I was wondering if you could quickly help. What PSU can I use to connect to many GTX 1070 TI's. I have a Corsair 500W PSU. I want to mine, but have no clue about how many GPU's I can add to a specific PSU. Thanks
He alone just drove gpu prices up by $1.43

Only 6,000/8,000 per month off of 70 cards??

That might be after expenses. Gross revenue might be significantly higher. In fact if the gross rev. was under $15,000/mo I would be surprised.
This vid is from nov 18 2017. at the time of writing my comment (dec 18 2017), BTC has doubled. so no, hes making 12k - 16k$ a month.
But he's also using Nicehash. Heard the news about them?

What features exactly are being added and removed in drivers every 2 weeks?
I have 1070Ti rigs, any recommendation on the settings for overclock using linux? Also, recommendations on motherboards and power supplies for rigs of 6 cards? Thanks!
New miners need to pay attention here, the problems that can (and probably will occur) are real.
mostly if you have no idea how to overclock
Overclocking is the tippy tippy top of the iceberg. Just don't overclock and that problem is fixed easy with little brain thought.
bombebomb you guys keep killing something that i love that is pc gameing
bombebomb lol I just built my first rig 2 weeks ago. I have never touched a graphic card before in my life let alone overclock anything. I was able to over clock all my card the same day. It's all about patience and making sure it runs smoothly. I'm hashing a little over 50% higher than stock now using only 8% more power than stock. I had 0 malfunctions so far. I don't care about power consumption because I don't pay for it but I do care about heat. So my cards are at a constant 55 C with fans at 40%. RUclips and Google is your friend you can learn anything on here.
Fly_high_15 get a job
"who's idea was it to begin mining?" *pulls out a book and reads the entire thing out loud*
I'm still trying to figure out how you burned out the cards. How far were you pushing them and how low were you taking the voltage? Typically they crash if you do that they don't burn up. Burning up is sounds more like heat. Did you have some of those crappy MSI armor cards?
Buenas. Que valores de overclocking en Simplemining es para una gtx1070ti ? Con ventilacion extra?
Gracias
I am guessing they use the company as a front to get free electricity for mining or they write it off as a business expense
many benefits of running it as a business
How do you use a business to get free electricity? I have an 8 location business, and I haven't the slightest idea what you mean by using it as a "front" - that implies nefarious activity. Also, of course electricity is a business expense. He clearly says they are running it by-the-book..
I don't know for other countries...but in my country the electricity expenses of a business are cheaper than home electricity expenses
I know all that, its just the way it was written as "as a front" implied he thought it was being done illegally. A front business is usually set up to launder money gained from nefarious activity. You can easily operate a legit crypto mining business above board as you say.
Matt S you don't get free electricity dummy. If it's ruled out as a business expense you don't have to pay taxes on it. Lol
Still cant run crisis
Austin R burnt joke
1 2 i know im so sick of "can it run" comments.
Lol😂😂
How many rx1000 corsair psu per mining rig? I was surpised to see only using 1000. Please find out and post, I am very curious to how he powers these 7 1080ti.
What's the device he is using to his computer I mean screen at

lol this dude got shafted hard.
He bought the water cooled versions which are a little bit more expensive then your average 1080ti
this guy really didnt do this properly. The terrible deal he got for the 1080ti's, the leaving the plastic on the intake vents i mean come on
the 1080Ti's are actually $100-200 cheaper than the commonly used 1070's whose price has doubled and even tripled in past weeks/months depending on the retailer.
What? 1070 are about half the price of a gtx 1080ti
Look again. you're lucky to find a 1070 for less than $900 and a lower spec 1080Ti from EVGA is about $700.
Dude are u ok, 1080 are like 1200 bucks
Call EVGA. They will sell you ONE 1080/1080Ti at original MSRP. But you'll have to wait a few weeks.
Hey guys few questions: How do you get the heat off the mining rig and what's involve regarding daily maintenance?
Hi, do you know by any chance where they purchased 70 cards at once?
legend has it this dude is still trying to achieve ROI on that $80k blunder
Lol, even in China the asic's are being turned off

this aged well....
would be nice if you talked about costs and profit . power rent maintenance etc
Alistair Maxwell would be nice if you just watched the damn video and played attention.
yes "play" attention next time.
Is there a list as to what motherboards, power supplies, and other hardware he uses?
I would really like to see another interview with this man, I want to hear his ideas during this market downturn.
This is why my new graphics card was so expensive.... thanks
Edit - This is all going to waste as bitcoin drops lol
Well you also can profit if that..
I use my card to mine passively..
Probably 6 - 7 months and you got your card for free
(Ist my normal gaming/editing and working pc..)
get your card for free because your mother footed that electricity bill eh

Wow this kind of pisses me off seeing all these cards not used on gaming
Basefrq he bought them, he has the right as his property, to do whatever he wishes with them.
@Menera's no ones saying he can't, but its still annoying to see them not used for gaming. i could buy a yacht and burn it down, i could do that but its still wasteful as shit
right... I'm one money making fool.
Arctic Steampunk to be fair if you look at the money they’re making I can’t blame them honestly
me to he is driving up gpu pricing for no reason he inst making any real money. Theres plenty things out there that can make your money back within a year. His stupid plan is gonna take almost 2 years to make his money back, hardly seems worth it. Itrs not like your increase profit in any compounding way as you increase gpus, its a linear increase. Its pointless sto make huge banks. if huge banks of gpus made sense for this then google would have already done it.
What motherboard is being used? Only 1000watt psu?
How much is that set up making now? $20 per month?

Very insightful, thanks for sharing!
How much time is needed to manage the rigs every month?
As soon as I heard him say nicehash, I was thinking of all the money he lost
NiceHash will return 100% of the money soon. The exact date will be announced Jan 31st.
Szechuan sauce of course.
3 weeks later and they still havent given shit back lol
They did say January 31st will be the announcement...so we'll see what, if anything they give back
My god people will suffer when this shit goes down in a couple years...
Also why is the foil still on on some cards, especially on the heat outlet?
They couldn't sell them as "brand new" after using them. They're just too ignorant to remove it. Besides, not removing the foil over the rear heat outlet area would definitely prove it isn't because of reselling them, since that weakens the cooling capability for the cards.
Is 6k-8K per month net? Is electricity deducted from that?
hey mate,. what flavour of linux ur using ?
So he is one of the reasons why gup cards are through the roof
Great interview.
Thank you! I thought I asked some solid questions to help anyone considering jumping into mining!
How have the 1080’s stood the test of time?
Hi, thanks for the great video... Can you kindly reply with all the list of equipment bought for this operation
This is why cloud mining is more popular now. The average Joe doesn't have the hardware to compete and make enough profit mining anymore it seems like
Crypto BBil Joe’s gonna be pissed when he sees what you called him.
BitCoinHog I mean his wife calls him Below Average so technically it was a compliment 😉
I completely agree. Especially, solar based cloud mining. They don't pass on the electricity costs in their contracts.
Why do they do this? Sell this service? When they can just mine bitcoins themselves? What profits doe this cloud mining companies make?
Simerpreet Singh they charge money up front so there's immediate money, then a lot of them charge a fee on the coin mined. Since the price of mined coins can go up or down, they're at least getting money and they'll keep it running as long as it's profitable
Would be interesting to compare the ROI at the one year point, versus simply buying $80,000 worth of the crypto they are mining.
exactly rofl
Mining is better
For every $1 I spend on electricity I get $4-6 back in crypto. As that crypto increases, my profits increase
buying bitcoin and hodling it is a lot more profitable, i invested 2.2k in a mining rig in june, im just hitting ROI by the end of the year, instead if i bought bitcoin id have 8k right now, as 1 bitcoin was 2k bac kthen.
Swiftpwns i disagree if crypto goes to 0 then you have lost everything but with mining you can always sell your hardware. I do both but if you can get in early in some good coins always good profit to be made
Toad Rasher no if u place stop loss,
I like your use of the ventilation fan. It's much smarter than AC, which will eat your profits. 😃

What motherboard is used here?
Using 1080tis and Nicehash: proof that he has no clue what he's doing
MrShadowmaster00 what do you mean?
Direwoofles 1080tis are overpriced as fuck compared to amd gpus, and even gtx 1060s and 1070s. He's overpaying his hashrate literally twice as much.
Also, relying on a third party like Nicehash, aside from the security risk, is a terrible idea, because their miner is not always the most efficient, and they also take their cut of the profits. You basically give away ~15% of your profits to them, which is terrible for your profitability.
Not to mention they just got "hacked" a few weeks ago, losing millions of dollars worth of miner rewards... hell nah.
This guy is just burning his money hoping to win the magic internet money lottery
even if it does crash people will go out and buy more cards to get it up agian
umar abbouchi that's not how it works. The price of cryptocurrencies is not determined by the amount of miners, rather it's the other way around
Would be interesting to hear how much they lost when nicehash got hacked
Do you run on nuclear electricity?
Very interesting ! hahahah around 7:20 at the question "how often does it crash ? ", the insertion of Windows blue screen xD
80k for $6000 a month minus the hanous electric bill, not a smart idea for the average joe.

The real question can u game crysis at 60fps
Do you prefer nvidia or amd cards?
Hi Sir,
I'm looking forward to see all those separated racks to be managed. What Monitor software do you actually use? Is this efficient? Are all your GPU stats getting reported to the same site? I'm concerned about managing heat and performance stuff from each one of the GPUs. And what about IT security? Windows normally is the best choice for new beta drivers but, how do you prevent system intrusion? Did you think in using a linux or a dedicated OS similar to simplemining or hiveos?
I'm planing to build several 6to13 per motherboard rigs and I'm a bit lost about what OS and monitor related software should be more escalable from start. (that would decide nº of gpus per rig for example)
Anyone with a similar GPU build or currently managing several rigs could help me too :)
By the way you did an excellent work there. Congrats.
