And if you see the real Barry Seal he looks nothing like Tom Cruise. I mean good movie, but who did the casting, Helen Keller?

Funny thing is he played El Chapo in Narcos
he didn't look like him but he sure performed well and the actor peformed this character very menacingly and intimidating, especially in this scene

I thought the same thing too, they might as well have cast Denzel Washington in this role however in spite of this I thought Cruise did a terrific job, and I’m no fan of his.
Fun fact those pictures were only to capture Pablo to make sure he was in Panama and to get permission from the government to go and get him, they were sent to the highest level in the whitehouse to get permission to extract him but some how they end up in the cover of the NYtimes alerting Pablo and going back to Colombia and putting a price on barry's head.
The Camera was a video camera not a photo camera, but it was so loud that they almost discover it but barry told them it was just the battery making noise.
Is pablo killed barry? Or the cia?
@@PostPoneMaStudentLoan Pablo put a bounty on him, because the photos he took for the DEA were leaked and the Medellin Cartel immediately knew it was Barry who took the pictures. He was killed within 6 months of the leak. There's a bit more to the story than that but this is how the movie portrays it.

I've never even heard of this movie as strange as that sounds. It looks like it's definitely suspenseful and a good movie.

Always nice to see the "Thunder Pig" Fairchild C-123K aircraft in movies. Been on it a few times and worked at the airport (KBVI ) where it is based. The folks at Air Heritage Museum do a great job keeping her up and running.

Look it up, but Reagan made a speech about Pablo Escobar. In that speech, Reagan actually showed one of the pictures of Escobar loading drugs onto the plane. Those pictures no doubt came from Barry Seal and this was the scene.
And also got barry killed.
@@boxerfan2 what was so troubling was the judge sentenced Barry to a halfway house and gave the actual address in court. It was essentially his death warrant as columbian hit men easily found him. I suspect the government set him up, and used the judge to give the address.
Crazy that a top secret picture was shown on national TV by the potus. Almost as if it was done to give someone the info about who took that photo😮 wow
@@AkronJosh Exactly. Should have been put into witnesses protection and vanish. Personally, I think he would have gotten bored in witnesses protection. He really wanted the excitement and the high of a smuggler.
The picture was release first in the nytimes, the point of the picture was to show whitehouse officials to get the green light to go and get pablo in panama, but instead they tip him off and pablo went back to colombia and made a bloody war with everyone and put a price on barry's head.
Tom Cruise is the last of the greats. He lives, eats, breathes great cinema. There are no more like him.

I try not to like Tom Cruise. It hurts me to say that I can’t dislike him! He is an amazing committed actor. His dedication to a job… a role is unfuckinbelievable. As a 68yo disabled veteran and retired pilot I totally respect this guy. I don’t give respect that easy.

I can not say Tom Cruise is a great actor, he is basically doing different flavors of himself, you can always tell is him and that is not acting. BUT he earned his movies, he carries them and he works like a beast. And the things he has done are just incredible.

The ironic thing about this movie it’s actually a true story. All the movies and TV shows the Netflix got for us were true stories. The question is right now the main character in this movie got killed while working for the government. That’s fucked up.
Base and inspire by a true story, but really far from the facts and reality.
The government tip off pablo by releasing the picture of him getting in the plan, that's when the cartel put a price on barry's head.
Leave it to Universal to screw up a good story.
