Sometimes I feel like non-Americans go to youtube and post things that make sense to them about the ATF. I mean, technically you can say anything about any gun and be like "DUH AY TEE EFF!", since they hate all guns in the hands of civilians.
It’s been done before. I could have done something like that on this but it would mean you have to remove it or the optic in order to disassemble the gun. This can be disassembled without removing the sight or losing zero.
Would you consider releasing any of your designs set up for a G17? I don't have a G19, just a 17, but there's a few of yours that I would really like to print
I do a mix of base part requirements depending on the design. Some use 17 architecture, some use 19 or 26. Just depends on what fits best for the overall design.
Have you tried any of the metal 3d printing services out there now? You can't have them print you a frame but they could make you that optic mount and that back plate out of all sorts of stuff, and they can anneal the parts too.
For sure, it’s definitely designed specifically for competition usage. However, it has that “OWB carry in a race holster by a bad guy in a 90s Schwarzenegger movie” vibe that would make for an interesting attempt at carrying.
@@booliganshootingsports I didn't see any updates on yt, and also I don't know where to get the print files so I just assumed it was still in the works. I would love to make my own with a print or kit.

I mean, yes? There are competitive shooting divisions where you take otherwise “normal” guns and modify them to the very edge of what’s allowed by the rules. And you’re competing against other shooters and guns who have done the same thing. So yeah, it is like taking something pedestrian and common and turning it into something high performance. And keeping with the analogy, have you seen how fast dedicated Civic based drag cars are? They’re some of the quickest street legal cars in the world.

Your assumption of the money spent is hilariously inaccurate. I designed and built this. I designed it so that anyone can cheaply build it themselves. Frame mounted optics work well as long as the mounting setup itself is solid. This uses 8 bolts and steel nuts embedded in the frame itself, it’s very solid.

@booliganshootingsports I guess that makes sense. When it works, it might as well be glock, and if it isn't doesn't you're only out 1 wheat penny and a bag o' hayseed
The 3D printed mount worries me . I dont see that optic maintaining zero for very long . Also would too much tungsten weight up front make it dip in recoil low instead of return to target ?
The mount is mounted to the frame using 8 steel nuts and bolts and the optic is attached to the mount using more solid and secure mounting than a slide mounted unit. The fact that it’s made of polymer is a non issue. This material doesn’t stretch, it snaps under excessive use, so it wouldn’t gradually lose zero. As for the risk of “negative recoil impulse” that’s something that my Handgun Brutality G26 almost achieved and it was a non-issue in use. Just something to train through 👍
