A lot of you have been asking for a "day in the life" video and its finally here! This was so fun to make and I hope to have many more vlogs to come. I also hope this video gets you excited for dental school and especially for sim clinic! Being a D2 is so much fun because we spend way more time doing the hands on part of dentistry which is really nice after D1 year where we had lectures most days.

I’m so glad I found your videos. I’ve been having second thoughts about dental school because science isn’t really my thing. I do want to know if you have a part time job that you do while going to dental school or do your loans cover all of your costs?
No part time job. There really isnt enough time while you're in dental school. Yup, completely depend on loans 😬
Do you pay rent for the apartment or does financial aid just pay it all in one chunk? And do they give you extra money for groceries and things like that? a video about that would be nice
I really want to make a video about this too. Yes, financial aid pays for all of my living expenses and everything since I started dental school.

How many dental schools did you apply to? Idk the ideal number to apply to
@@kyroking9934 I live in Sweden and there are only 4 dental schools which I applied to. We can apply to 12 different colleges here.
I think in the US, the ideal number is 10.
Hmm if i had to rank the difficulty: First year is an 8-9, second year is a 6-7.... some may disagree.

Hi Jasmine. Great video. Can I ask how you've found the physical demands of dental school so far (e.g. any aches/pains, as I know this can be a problem in dentistry)?
I've had days where I was sore from being in sim clinic but it hast been too bad as long as I work on having good posture and get enough physical activity and stretch regularly :)

It really fits you to be a dentist
Hi! I am a student in primary school and I want to become an orthodontic, but I have problems. You need to be very smart. High school is more challenging than in America i think. You have to be great - in europe that means you have to have mostly A's. I wonder if it's worth the time. And the cool part is the dental-orthodontist school is FREE. I will go into high school next year and I really wonder if its worth the time to study and than go to college. Love from Europe 🇪🇺
If it is really what you want to do and are passionate about it is totally worth all of the hard work and time!! You can do it 💪 that is a great point though, in America it is pretty expensive.. but still didnt keep me from going for it. Maybe a good thing for you to do would be to shadow a dentist/orthodontist and see what their every day life is like, that motivated me a lot! Good luck with everything. how do you afford expenses things like living arrangements and other expenses?
I filled out the FAFSA before entering dental schools and I qualified for student loans. The loans pay for tuition and all living expenses, but I will have to pay it back later.

What is your experience with having a dog during dental school? Would an average dental student have enough time to care for a dog and would you recommend getting one while still in dental school? Thanks
Hi! It was tough at first getting him house trained but now I really love having a dog. It works with school too :)

Enjoy your life! You will never get the time back from before dental school and your career, just make sure to get all of the things done you need to apply to dental school and do your best to get good grades in school :)

Yes! You would absolutely be eligible to apply. I would just recommend that you also have some solid dental experience on your app. Good luck!

I'm in dental hygiene school. Dental school seems way more relaxed, at least from this vlog! We go a mile a minute and it's nothing but stress.
What's the difference between dental school and dental hygiene school
@@nanana8928 Dental hygiene school is for dental hygienists. DHs learn preventitive dentistry (cleaning teeth, indentifying things that need to be addressed soon, oral hygiene instruction, flossing/brushing, etc.) Anything to prevent disease/stop disease. Dental school is for dentists. Dentists are involved with restorative dentistry, so fillings, crowns, surgery, etc. Dentists are more involved with after the disease has already happened. This is a gross summary.
