Hi there! It is definitely possible to go to dental hygiene school and then dental school, as long as you meet the pre-requisite requirements. Sorry physics is a must! Every dental school will require physics.

Hi! I am currently a freshman at UMD in hopes to be a dentist soon in the future. I was wondering what your major was in undergrad and how you studied for the DAT? I absolutely love your videos they are so thorough and explain the procedure well and I found it very exciting to see you complete the steps! I was also wondering for the root canal when do you know where to stop and when you have reached patency?
Hi Ashmi! this is a great question. At the end of a root canal the canal starts to become narrower right at the end, this is the point of patency and that is where you want the end of your file and root canal filling material to end. First you would take an x-ray of the patients tooth and try to measure on the x-ray how far down the end of the root is. Then when you clean the canal with the files you can verify that you've reached the end with a device called an apex locator, then you take another x-ray to verify that you are at the stopping point. I hope this helps!
I went to the dentist last week they said I haven't old metal filling with a cavity starting on it it's sensitive to cold stuff already does that mean it's starting to rot more
Sorry theres not much I could say without seeing your x-rays but it sounds like it would be in your best interest to have the filling replaced as soon as you can because the decay will only continue growing from here :( Hope that helps!

Hey great question! it was a really tough decision. my school works with 3 loupe vendors (q-optics, designs for vision, and oroscoptic) so we were able to try on all the loupes they sell and decide based on what each of us needs.
