Camaro ZL1 nurburgring lap time: 7:16 Ferrari 458 nurburgring lap time: 7:38 The two cars have similar 0-60 times(3.7 & 3.4) and nearly the exact same 1/4 mile times(high 11's). The Camaro would gap that Ferrari in a roll. All for 1/3 the price and twice the reliability
@@gruffski when you shift too quickly from 1st to 2nd sometimes the gear is locked out. It feels like your trying to put the shifter in second without pushing the clutch in. I have an STI and under full power sometimes its an issue to shift from 1 to 2 or 2 to 3. Especially, when the tranny and clutch are hot and your running a ton of power. I thought it was my clutch but it's the transmission
On that STI swap to EL headers and change to a GFB mach 2 diverter valve and turn the response up. You'll be faster and will be faster between shifts as it will keep the turbo spooled up at full boost. That would have kept you ahead of that ZL1 every time. Nice car and lot of sick runs!
@Slaydur yes it's same thing. They are recirculating valves not venting to atmosphere. If you have a MAF sensor you need to run a recirculation valve otherwise you gonna end up running rich on a big pull. Recirculation also equals better/faster spool. If you want to run vent to atmosphere you will want to run Speed Density tune.
I’ve gone thru 3 brand new motors and have raced for years so I kept her nice and over maintained and still around 60k on each motor dead. It’s like a damn drag car constantly needing a new motor/clutch. There oem just sucks unless you daily drive slow asf and don’t go above 3.5k

That's a fast STi. I owned a WRX (big turbo and supporting mods) and an STi (full bolt ons, tune) and they are not the greatest from a roll. If you can run even close to another car from a roll, you'll destroy it from a dig (where the WRX and STi really have the advantage). I've also owned 5 Camaros so know both cars really well (Camaro ZL1 and the STi). They are both great cars.

is a bypass valve the same thing as a diverter valve? never seen it called that.

Alex Carey you can find good ones for around 10k. If that’s too much, go for a 350z. They’re cheap af now and can drift, drag, anything really.
Vossdaboss 10k is my price range, I haven’t found any Sti’s but a lot of wrx in my range.
